October 29

Spinning. Hollywood Blvd search for my wonder woman costume, ended up ordering it from the Frederick's of Hollywood website cause the store didn't have any left. Came home, said bye to Mike & James, then Dave, TR and I went to Halloween town to get spider webs, a cauldron, some "RIPS" (pronounced "rips" not "r.i.p.s"), a scary bat, and I forget what else. Next stop was Costco where we got full size chocolate bars for the kids. We then get a call that there's a sick prostitute that needs rescuing, so we headed on down to the movie set and took the poor sick girl home. TR and I made a pit stop at Pinkberry on our way home. I then had to leave for babysitting - the girl was SO cute, when I asked her how old she thought i was, she was like "ummmm.... 13?" Hahahahahha... we also played with her neighbour's puppy schnauzer who was the cutest thing in the world! I felt like such a highschool kid babysitting, but the cold hard cash was pretty sweet!

October 30
Just finished carving my Sally Ragdoll pumpkin. Today I got up, had breakfast with TR in the backyard - and we were both terrified when he closed the back door and it locked us out... luckily the garage door had been left open and we weren't actually locked out. I then went to pilates with Myara, Spinning at the gym, then went home and did homework. Oh - and watched the FUNNIEST video of Leigh, Dave, Leigh, Robyn and I doing the Monster Mash that Ryan had made. I also received a call from someone from Leigh's movie, offering ME a stripper role! I'm gonna do it! I'm gonna be in a movie!!

Leigh came home, we went to the grocery store and got pumpkins, went to La Poubelle and got dinner, came home and I tried on my wonder woman costume that had just arrived, and it's horrible. It just doesn't fit well. So I decided to send it back and stick with the good old zombie cheerleader.

Jess & Julia came over, i ate too much candy, they watched me carve my pumpkin and we laughed a LOT.

October 28

Hell Day! So today was supposed to be the best day of the month... not so much. A 9 hour class day could never rival a 0 hour class day, so i'm thinking tomorrow will be the best day instead.

Woke up at 6 cause Leigh was waking up at 6 to go shoot her movie. Ate breakfast, did abs together, went to school. Found out that i'm getting my Principles of Color waived which is sweet, except now i'll have a 3.5 hour break in between classes, but that's okay cause Taylor, Deanne and Akela have the same break and we decided we'll just go for fabulous long lunches!!

After three classes Dave texted saying that he and the boys were going to Matsuhisu for dinner at 6:30 so I booked it on over there after class. We had delicious sushi, delicious dessert and had a cute chat with Mr. Nobu himself! Following which I started choking like crazy (ice cream up my nose), you know, the usual for me.

After dinner we came home, made Halloween plans - there's a little party happening on the street followed by trick-or-treating, we decided we're doing 6-10 pumpkins, and making a graveyard in the backyard! And Taylor found a perfect wonder woman costume that i'm gonna go get tomorrow.... unless i feel like doing scary makeup and go for the zombie cheerleader...

October 27

I'm currently burning white candles (to rid myself of negative energy - I was stressed out today) and listening to the Sarah McLachlan Christmas cd... yes I realize it's a bit early, but it suits the day. It was a blustery, overcast, cool day, perfect for listening to somewhat morbid music and feeling a bit sad.

8:30 class this morning - it was the first day that I haven't felt tired! Perhaps cause I slept in 'til 9 yesterday? Perhaps because I went to sleep at 11 instead of 12 last night? Perhaps because I didn't eat sugar yesterday... Quiz in history of architecture, sooo easy considering i've studied ancient Greece and Rome at least 4 times now... and let me tell you, this teacher has got NOTHING on Archie (for those of you who aren't Caleigh or Kim, "Archie" was what we called our Archaeology Prof at Queen's. We loved him).

After class I managed to fill my ENTIRE afternoon with errands. I seriously don't know how I always have so many to do, but they manage to fill my days! 1st stop, Williams Sonoma to get cupcake holders. 2nd stop, Sprinkles to get Halloween present cupcakes for Mom, Dad & Ry, 3rd stop, Fedex to mail the cupcakes - the fedex lady thought my cupcake holder idea was INGENIUS - "we get people in here all the time that just hand us a box of cupcakes and say 'ship it,' I'm sure they're in pieces by the time they arrive!" Next stop, Gym. Set up my free personal training sesh for next Tuesday - gonna be SUCH a tease since I can't actually afford a trainer anymore :( Spun, did abs & squats. As I was leaving, I was all excited to just go to Whole Foods, get some cottage cheese and be home for tea time, but THEN the silver ball holding my keychain together decides to fall off and my keychain contents goes flying all over the gym floor, soooo that meant I had to go to Tiff's and get a new ball. Did that, got my Rachel's flavored cottage cheese at Whole Foods (which I found out they've DISCONTINUED!) went home, showered, and then hung out with the boys (Dave, James, Mike, Jordan, Colin, TR) for a delicious hour of Cake Boss watching and chocolate chip cookie eating. Dinner was spinach soup, followed by reading for school, reading Her Fearful Symmetry, and doing abs and lines (script lines) with Leigh.

According to my horoscope, tomorrow is supposed to be my best day of the month... what will Hell Wednesday have in store (other than 9 hours of class)????

October 26

Slept in 'til 9:00 (a California record), hiked, read Her Fearful Symmetry in the backyard, went to class, grocery shopped for lemons and rice milk and blueberries but couldn't bring myself to pay $7.99 for blueberries so I got $5.99 raspberries instead even though I don't like them... (being poor sucks), came home, talked to Leigh about her first day on set, made spinach soup, ate spinach soup, did abs with Leigh, studied for my quiz tomorrow (am I in highschool again?), watched GG (LOVED it. Made me wanna be a flapper for Halloween), talked about Halloween plans with Leigh (all we really wanna do is give out candy) and am now going to sleep.

October 25

October 25
I can't believe it's already the 25th... where did Rocktober go? Today... looked at an apartment on Doheny, building was very promising, vacant apartment not so much. I'll keep my eye on it for other vacancies though... the kitchen floors were black and white tiles! However there was no parking, no AC and one washer & dryer for the 16 unit building. Definitely not worth the black and white tiles...

Next was the gym. It was so empty and wonderful. I did a workout that would make Rui proud! Kettle bell swings, chin ups, push ups, 15 lb arm weights (and spinning and abs and glutes obvi) - all that was missing was him calling me "Megan" (Fox) and Honey Bunny!

I then came home to do my dreaded drafting homework. However I then got an email from Marianne Yoannou saying that she and Jon had arrived in LA and wanted to take me for dinner. This stressed me out because i'd heard whispers that the drafting homework took 6 hours so i was thinking i wouldnt be done and would be up til all hours of the night and was kicking myself for not doing it on thursday or friday, but silly me, being the drafting rockstar that i am, I got it done in a hot minute. Aka two hours. While drafting I heard all kinds of kids yelling and heard B drive by on his motorcycle. I ignored it cause sightings like these have become quite frequent in the past two weeks. However, I then heard a familiar deep female voice and ran to the window! It was HER! A was sitting on the ledge on the side of the road directly in front of my car! So of course I found it necessary to go "get my ipod from my car" at that moment, so with my heart pounding, I did. I looked at her, smiled and said hi, and she returned my smile & hi. She's just as beautiful in real life and soooooo skinny. I want her frail veiny arms!

John & Marianne were staying at the Fairmont in Santa Monica so I met them at the bar there for drinks and then we walked to Boa. Definitely liked the decor of the Hollywood one better than SM. But the food was delicious as always (40 day old aged striploin steak, mashed potatoes, spinach, warm cookie & ice cream dessert). And I wished that I appreciated wine more because they ordered an $150 bottle. It was soooooooooo nice seeing them - and was funny because it just felt so normal to see them and to talk about the corporate families and the office and the club (and boys and love and weddings and celebrities and etc etc etc) but made me really miss home! And then all the way home I was singing along to songs that really required people to be singing along with me (Reesy - Jimmy Eat World, Bruce Springsteen, Derek - Muse & Blink, Rob Marrs - Less Than Jake, and the Fall Out Boy Christmas song even though I never really sing that one with anyone else - Christmas is 2 months away). I'm homesick! But i'm obvi sooooooo loving that i'm here. It's late. Might be getting up at 6 to hike with Leigh... Jesus.

October 24
Amazing day. Hiked to the peak with Leigh then cruised down to HB to surf with Surfer Drew. I called him when I got down there and told him i'd come pick him up at his house. He then gave me directions to go to a gated community, punch in gate code blah blah blah and I totally thought he was joking cause I was pretty sure he lived in some shanty town beside the smoke stacks along the highway. So I drive to the shanty town (beside a trailer park) and I realize that it is in fact gated! But it's totally weird and is just some community of shacks set up in trailer park formation (not real roads, just small laneways lined with little houses). But then I go inside and it's so cute and wonderful! I expected squalor - he is a surfer dude after all, but it was so nice, with such nice furniture and kitchen appliances and it was so clean and smelled SOOOO delicious - like HSS chai lattes! I wanted to move in. He told me I could for $500 a month. Score!

So us and his roommate John went to the pier, i was terrified because the waves were huge, Drew told me I was gonna get pummelled, I said i'd last 5 mins. But I got out there and was actually good! Like I can legitimately say that I can surf now! It was amazing! Drew is my good luck charm. I had so much fun but my arms were sooooo tired so I tanned on the beach while they surfed. I then went home, bought some pink lidded containers for spinach soup storage, read in the backyard, made a delicious pasta dinner (quinoa pasta) and ate in the backyard with Leigh, and then we got ready for my first night out since i've been here. First on the agenda: a strip club. Purpose: role research for Leigh's movie. We met up with the other actress and her friend and the wardrobe girl Zoe. First we tried The Body Shop. The parking guys asked us if we were there to work. We laughed. They told us that girls didn't go on til 10 (it was 8). Next stop, some place on La Cienega. I ran in while Leigh waited in the car, it was empty and the lights were on. Next stop: Crazy Girls, across from Leigh's school, the same strip club that Megan Fox frequented in her early LA days because she had a crush on a stripper. Anyways, so we go up to the door, once again get asked if we were there to work, once again burst out laughing. Our time there was actually quite enjoyable - the girls didn't get naked! So that made for a good non-akward time. Apparently in LA you can't serve alcohol if the girls are naked so there's "strip clubs" where the girls just dance. So we stayed there for about an hour, two guys came over to leigh and I after the other girls had left and thought we were strippers. When we told them that we weren't, one told me that i was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, and the other told Leigh that he'd never smelled anyone that smelled as good as her. It was quite flattering.

Next stop was a concert by some mutual friend of someone from Leigh's school. He was pretty good. The AADA crowd was there and Jess and I decided that our mission for next week is to find hot boys to make out with. There were none at the show. After we all came back to Valley Oak and had a bonfire and made s'mores. Being Canadian, I was the obvious choice for firestarter and let me tell you, I would've made David Potter proud! I constructed a perfect fire for marshmellow roasting. I also instructed people on proper s'more technique - put the chocolate on the crackers and nestle them near the fire so your chocolate is pre-melted. I ate way too many, and then made cookies for everyone. It was a wonderful night of good wholesome fun! (Minus the strip club part).

October 23

The days go by really quickly when your errands are in Beverly Hills and you live in the east Hollywood Hills. 10 GST class with Myara, then went to the gym to spin. I talked to Momsie and she said that I could join, so I met with Ashford after my workout and he signed me up. My website also came up in conversation and he loved it. After spin I stupidly checked twitter and found out that the caramel apple limited edition halloween cupcake started today and was free if you whispered "boo." So i obviously did. I'm going to eat it tonight while watching 90210.

I then went to The Grove, bought a hand blender (red) to match the limited edition anniversary edition kitchenaid mixer that comes with a glass bowl that i'm gonna ask for for Christmas. I had brought my crapster hand blender from home but it just wasn't doing the job, so it had to be replaced.

Came home, read in the backyard, fell asleep in the backyard, Leigh left for babysitting, did some homework, had dinner, and am now gonna cozy up with my cupcake and some 90210!

October 22

Thursday. Hike to the peak with Leigh, then went to the Sports Club to do some kind of Core class. Got there and again it was insanely crowded - I was there 15 mins early and apparently that's not early enough because there wasn't a spot left on the floor! I'm gonna have to get my ass there super early... or figure out classes that aren't so crazy. So instead I did a spinning class, got my fave bike, (I already have a fave bike), and it was an AMAZING class! I was so happy. I then did abs, arms, and glutes and actually showered at the gym. Soooo unlike me. Anyways, next I went to Vince to use my $100 gift card that Frederic Fekkai gave me... the salesman was just soooo wonderful and flattering (you're soooo beautiful, you've got a rockin' body, etc etc etc) that I bought two beautiful shirts instead of just one. Oh, before this I hit up AT&T to pay my phone bill, and Sprinkles to get the free twitter cupcake (lemon). I need to stop checking Twitter. Or I should've joined a gym that wasn't 2 blocks away from Sprinkles... Ok so after shopping I went home and Leigh and I watched The Wrestler. Stripper research for her movie role. Dave came home, we ordered Kabuki sushi for dinner and went to pick it up. We took the Xplorer cause Dave loves it and it was soooo nice to be a passenger for a change! I'm soooo sick of driving already! (And i LOVE driving). So yeah, we ran into Jordan and Todd on Hollywood Blvd, (which resulted in Dave swerving the car all crazy and Jordan hanging out the passenger window of a white Tahoe). Anyways. Got our food. ON the way home I was telling them how all my school friends were shocked that I hadn't had Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles because it's such an LA thing and i've had everything LA when it comes to food! And just then Jordan calls saying that he's at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, so we had him bring home an order. We went home, ate dinner and started watching Blow (more movie role research - she has to do coke). The Chicken and Waffles arrive (along with macaroni) and I have to say that for disgusting fried food it was pretty damn amazing. But I definitely won't eat it ever again. I'd much rather have In N' Out. So we watched the rest of Blow, looked at Jordans wicked new Hundreds kicks (purple, turquoise and black - I want the purple ones real bad), I returned his purple watch, and did my homework for Colouring class. Oh i forgot - Leigh's wardrobe girl came over and we had a hooker fashion show. I was also invited to be an extra in the strip club, but unfortunately its filming on Monday and I have class :(

October 21

Wednesday Hell Day. Wasn't sooooo bad today. I wasn't quite as zombie-like as I was last Wednesday. Design Process class, got perfect on a quiz and my logo project. Principles of Color - finished at warp speed, our table is always done first. Sketching Techniques Party Class. I love it! All the cool kids are in the class (Taylor, the other Christine, Deanne, Akela), our teacher (Tiffany) is soooo cool, and we always have good gossip sessions and get the majority of our homework done in class! Rock and roll!

After class I went on a search for quinoa pasta. "Paaaasta," not "Pawsta"... it was actually funny in Sketching class - people started talking about Degrassi - but pronouncing it "Degrawssi" ... oh American accents. Anyways, the Whole Foods that I hate (Santa Monica & Fairfax) obviously didn't have it, so I had to go to former-home-sweet-palazzo-whole-foods. Of course they had it. And they even had spelt pasta! So I got both. And came home and un-froze my sauce from my birthday and had a delicious (and semi-healthy) pasta dinner! Leigh came home from pilates, we did abs, watched Top Model, and I had a cupcake as a reward for making it through 5 days of the Gwyneth Detox. Time for bed cause we might be going to surf Ventura tomorrow!

October 20
Most productive day yet! Actually, the day before my birthday was pretty crazy productive too so maybe this is tied. Anyways, 8:30 class. Liquid lunch at Leaf. Kinkos/Fedex to get my homework logos printed on quality paper and mail a package to Momsie. Sports Club. Met with good old Ash to talk membership prices. It's not as steep as I thought! It's pretty much the same as the Cricket Club! Soooo i've decided to join. I had a little spinning sesh and then made my way to Venice. I met Colin, Dave & Rony at Colin & Rony's place, we piled into Colin's white Xplorer and headed to the beach. Colin and Dave were trying to convince me that shoulder height waves would actually be easier for me. I didn't buy it. I like ankle height waves. So we get to the beach, the waves are wayyyy too huge for me and it was really windy so they were messy. I venture out into the water and get destroyed by the waves. I hadn't been tossed around like that since the first California summer! Leigh and Robyn - flashback to the times of needing a breath and not knowing if you're gonna make it to the top! So basically after getting pummeled by waves I decided to go in. Colin apologized for mis-judging the waves... (but what he really mis-judged was my surfing skills, which are lacking). Anyways, we took some good snaps, and started freezing our asses off and headed back to the car. Came home, showered and got ready in record timing to meet William at Urth at 9ish. It was so wonderful to see him again! I just love good old Willy. He's always got such entertaining stories to tell... cars breaking down on the way home from Vegas, getting married in helicopters to Russian girls just so they can get a Visa, hallucinogenic detox stories... etc. We also discovered a new item on the menu - some sort of amazing sushi roll thing that was pure deliciousness! We also made friends with the people at the table beside us who were eavesdropping and told me that i HAD to join the Sports Club. It was a fabulously fun and fabulously eventful day! I felt like the NewMediaAthletes* Christine again... busy busy busy and running around all over the place! Although Derek was not there to chauffeur around and get parking/illegal left turn tickets with. But that's a good thing.

Spotted: The Jolie-Pitts' bulldog. Did you know they had a bulldog?

October 19

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad! 30 years. Quite impressive.

This morning was leisurely and wonderful. It was overcast for my hike which is the best because then you don't have to worry about getting tan lines. I came home, Leigh and I made detox breakfast, I posted some more pics on Facebook, took care of some administration and read for the rest of the glorious morning in the backyard. For lunch I had the leftover salmon and broccoli and carrots from yesterday, while still lying on the couch in the backyard. So lovely.

Then I made my way to school, passed by Brandon's mom in the hall but didn't say hi (she was in the midst of an arm wrestling competition right Brandon? ... or just an intense conversation). Then it was time for drafting class. As usual my work was perfect (or "poifect") as my teacher said, and he had me come up and show the class my drawings and tell them how I did them. I was shocked to hear that the average time it took people to do the homework was 8 hours... it took me 3. Thanks Daddykins for teaching me how to draft when I was 10. Oh by the way, I have a new friend named Ginny.

After school I headed straight for the Sports Club in Bev Hills to do some Boot Camp class. I'd never been there at night before and OMG what a scene. All you see are hot girls EVERYWHERE with perfect bodies in sports bras with full makeup on, looking so hot and toned and perfect... it was horrible. I miss the Cricket Club. Hot moms, old people and like 5 people relatively my age who I went to school with. It was really terrible. And unfortunately the boot camp class was INSANELY crowded with hot chicks and MEN - since when do men do classes? Give me my stay at home mom classes back! I guess i'd have to go in the day for that. As you may or may not know, I can't stand crowds, so i couldn't bring myself to do the class. I took refuge in the spinning studio and later did abs, arms and lunges. Rui - I even did kettle bell swings on my own. Be proud.

Post workout I came home, Leigh and I watched GG, and I did my homework. Tomorrow is surfing day with Colin!!

October 17

Weekend. I still hate LA weekends. Thank goodness I have Thursday & Friday off. Anyways... Leigh and I hiked to the peak, came home and made our detox smoothie breakfast, then we got ready for the beach. Manhattan Beach. En route we stopped by a gross smelly costume store so Dave could return the Santa costume and scope out some Halloween ideas. But all the costumes were really old and worn out looking... We then picked up Matt and went to a cute little surf shack cafe in Manhattan beach. Leigh and I had our doubts about getting a healthy salad, but we ended up getting one of the best salads i've ever had! There was no dressing... but there was hummus and lemon juice and artichokes and avocado and it was really really really good. We hung out on the beach for a while, tanned, went swimming and then headed home. Home to do homework. Leigh went to a play at school, Dave went back to Matt's, and I slaved over homework. Well, not really slaved, because all my work is very easy, just very tedious and time consuming. More to come on tedious and time-consuming tomorrow...

October 18
Hollywood Sign hike. Detox breakfast. Then headed out to buy art/drafting supplies. I noticed an SUV with the words "armed security" waiting at the gate and thought that was strange... then I get a text 5 mins later from Leigh saying I just missed Brad (going for a spin on his motorcycle). Oh, and I forgot to mention 2 days ago that we saw the kids driving around in powerwheels cars (Black mini Ford Expedition for Shiloh, Pink something for Zahara). So yeah, art supply shopping. I noticed that canvases are more expensive here than at home... bummer. And a decent easel is gonna cost me a pretty penny :( Apparently i'm in the Kappa magazine and i've been getting all these emails inquiring about pricing. Gotta get set up for painting! Got home, went to the green store with Leigh to get "Liquid Lunchboxes" ... beets and ginger and apple and blah. It took me forever to drink it "it's not that it's gross, it's just bland. Like milk. I hate drinking milk. Unless its milk that honey nut cheerios have been getting soggy in." We had our lunch and then i set upon the task of putting the hardware on my drafting table. I figured it would take me 15 mins. Boy was I wrong. Probably took me an hour and a half.

First the mat was all wavy (because I didn't think to unroll it and flatten it yesterday), so i tried taking a hairdryer to it but it did nothing. Then I had to trim it to fit the board. So far, so good, (minus the wavy-ness). Next up was putting on the parallel ruler. DISASTER. So it started off find, but then i got to the bottom clamp things, the instructions all along were saying to pre-drill holes, but I was screwing the screws in just fine so i figured I didn't need to worry about a drill. I figured wrong. When I got to the 1" screws to screw in the clamps, I had quite a difficult time. So I searched the basement for a drill, which i found, (with a Harriman label on it - thanks Jordan - your purple Nixon Player watch and drill are treating me well), but no drill bits. So I tried to just power screw the screw in but it wasn't doing anything. This is when I started freaking out. It was a very weird occurrence because for maybe one of the first times in my life I actually felt incompetent. I never feel incompetent. I always pride myself on being able to do anything, but today I actually didn't know how i was going to get these screws in. Now don't get me wrong - my construction skills are pretty good, i've just never had to use a drill before. So I come to a standstill in my power screwing and I just don't know what to do. Dave wasn't home and I didn't want to wait til he got home since I had to use the table for homework! And I really didn't want to have to rely on anyone else to do it. I wanted to do it myself. So then the waterworks started. I collapsed on the floor and just lied there and cried for probably 5 minutes.

After my tears were all used up I decided to re-group. I went back down to the basement to perform another search for drill bits.... and there they were, on the top of the fridge. But there were only 4, two were huge, two were miniscule. So i brought them up. Then began the task of figuring out how to change drill bits. Again, the incompetency feeling returned. The tears were welling up in the corners of my eyes, but then i figured it out and began drilling my holes. The bit I was using was too small so i kinda had to play around with it, after about 30 seconds more of crying (couldn't figure out why it wasn't drilling... had it in reverse) I finally got my screws screwed in and my table was finished! Victory was mine! So yeah, I was really proud of myself and it just confirmed that i'm pretty much the most competent girl in the world.

Leigh and Dave had a cute date night - dinner and Where the Wild Things Are, I ate salmon and broccoli and carrots and drafted for 3 hours. I have a feeling this is just the beginning of many more lonesome drafting nights...

Leigh and Dave returned, Leigh found out she got a movie role which starts filming in a week, so we're embarking on a crazy workout schedule in addition to our detox! We watched Desperate Housewives, and now it's time for bed.

October 15

Happy Birthday!

I stayed up until midnight making cookies for the boys and they helped me ring in my birthday. I then went to sleep and managed to sleep in until 7:30! Brilliant! However I was soooooo homesick when I woke up - it was the first birthday ever where I haven't been woken up with a "Happy Birthday serenade" by my mom & Berkley... But my mom called shortly after I woke up and Miriam was with her, saying that I would have a wonderful birthday party and would be dating a certain love interest in either one week or one month. When Leigh woke up we had breakfast - she had gluten free cereal and I had a birthday breakfast of champions: Sprinkles cinnamon sugar cupcake, raspberries, and greens powder mixed with water. Aside from the straight greens powder being pretty gag-inducing, it was a wonderful little breakfast! We then went on a birthday hike to the peak and came home to a full-blown movie set. The boys were filming a project for school - a Christmas Doritos commercial, and it was pretty wonderful having an excuse to listen to Christmas songs. I went to the grocery store and got the final groceries for the party (or so i thought), we started making the goat cheese dip and I made the caesar salad dressing. It was then time to leave for Bev Hills where we had to get my present from Leigh at Planet Blue, pick up a doggie cupcake from Sprinkles for Henry (or so we thought), and then go for my hair appointment. While driving I decided to check if there was a free cupcake password on Twitter. As I was looking i was like "i hope it's "birthday" and you can pick a cupcake of your choice if it's your birthday" and then i see that it's "70,000" and you can pick a cupcake of your choice! Such a coincidence! But not even. just plain old birthday luck. Colin also had said this morning that I was the luckiest girl ever because it had been pure doom and gloom for two days and was devastatingly sunny and hot just for me! Anyways, so Leigh and I got our choice cupcakes (Banana and Carrot) and ate them while getting my hair done. My first Frederic Fekkai Melrose experience was an absolute disaster. The old salon was SO much nicer, the guy who was filling in for Kelly didn't listen to a word I said "So we're just gonna do what kelly showed you on thursday - big victorias secret curls - just spray sections, curl them, and then put them in pin curls" ... after which he starts just curling the sections, no spray, no pincurls. "Arent you going to do the pin curls?" "i'll do them on the top" "Can you do the whole thing?" So he did... but he did it wrong. I was dying. I wanted to burst into tears. I tried to sneak a peak in the mirror (he had my chair turned sideways... always a bad sign) and Leigh was like "don't peak til it's done!" (thinking it wasn't finished) and then he was like "there you go!" and I almost cried. It was horrible, the top was flat, I could've done it better myself. But thankfully all wasn't lost... I still got the opening day gift bag of shampoo and conditioner and gift cards for stores near the salon including an $100 Vince card. Sick. So we hopped in the car, I had a mini meltdown and shed a couple tears since I had ZERO time to re-do my hair. We get home, the Christmas shoot is just wrapping up, the boys do a wonderful job of getting everything back to un-Christmas normal and help set up the tables and chairs and china lanterns in the side yard (the backyard grass was too soggy from the rain), Leigh and Lauren and I did amazing teamwork and got everything ready in time for the guests to arrive... an hour late. Thankfully they were an hour late!

Dinner was an absolute hit. People loooved my pasta! I was quite pleased with myself and my cooking abilities. After dinner we moved the candles and fleurs from the table to the backyard, and opened presents and ate cupcakes: black & white, vanilla milk chocolate & chocolate coconut. Soooo delicious. Oh, and the "Courtney & Christine's We Hate Queen's Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars" (which are always a hit) and black and white hershey kisses. I got such wonderful presents! It was so wonderful because i totally didnt expect anything since i was just adopting Leigh and Dave's friends as my own but everyone gave me such cute stuff! THANK YOU!!!! After eating seconds of pasta and cupcakes, guests started to make their way home. Leigh and I did a quick clean up and went to sleep.

Oh, I've also started receiving emails from people claiming to have seen an article on my paintings in The Key (Kappa Magazine). This is pretty hilarious and exciting and I wanna see it!

October 16
I'm wearing Jordan's purple rubber Nixon watch. It's soooo sick. Especially sick cause it matches my purple sneakers. (I can say words like sneakers now that i'm living in the States. I've always really liked the word, but Canadians don't use it). Ok so today. Woke up. Finished the kitchen clean up job. Leigh and I decided to start the Gwyneth Detox today so I had lemon water and greens powder for breakfast. Mmm mmm good. I then went to Myara's GST class (form of crazy pilates that i'm obsessed with), then met Matt at the Sports Club LA where he got me a sweet week pass. Spinning. Abs. Arms. Glutes. Stretching. I finally did middle splits again today and was very proud of myself. Came home, Leigh and I made ourselves our one solid food meal of the day (plain chicken and broccoli - no condiments). So horrible and bland. Watched Grey's Anatomy. I started reading "The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane" and fell asleep for 3 hours. Let's hope i'm finally cured of my insomnia! Woke up. Had very unsatisfying miso soup with Leigh for dinner, watched a Will Ferrell dinosaur movie with Leigh and Dave.

October 10

Thanksgiving! We woke up and started getting ready for the day. Pumpkins had to be carved, food to be made, turkeys (3) to be stuffed... we got everything done and the tables set up outside with ample time to go! The dinner was an absolute hit! I was SO proud of Leigh and I! Dave and Jordan (and Lauren and I) transformed the backyard into a magical fairyland with christmas lights, chinese lanterns and candles candles candles! We were scared that the turkey wasn't gonna be ready in time, but then I realized that we were using a candy thermometer! So we got the meat thermometer and it was a perfect 180 degrees! I couldn't believe how good the food was! It was parent calibre food! I was sooooooooo impressed with our culinary abilities! Dessert was wonderful (pumpkin pie and pumpkin sprinkles cupcakes). After eating, Lauren and I were exhausted and just wanted to catch up on tv, so we watched melrose place and top model. Halfway through the 2nd hour of tv, I asked Jordan what time it was (fully thinking it was past midnight) and it was only 10:15! Outrageous! Highlights of the night: amazing food, my candelabra, Davy Crockett hat, Jordan & Dave's photawg skills.

October 11
Sunday. Early morning 2 hour hike. Then I headed out to Whittier, CA to pick up my drafting table! I drove to a sketchy part of town, to a little sketchy apartment, and picked up my table from a guy that looked suspiciously like Ryan Atwood. The table is sick, the colour of the wood isnt. I'm gonna whitewash it or stain it dark. After picking up the table I stumbled upon a HUGE antique store - similar to the antique barn at the cottage. Went in looking for Nancy Drew books and a drafting stool, found neither. Headed home, had a delicious turkey leftover lunch with the girls and dave, and uploaded all the pictures from the night before. I helped Terrie make a facebook album, and then it was time to get ready for dinner. Leigh had the brilliant idea of wearing Terrie's fresh outta the 80's dresses to the chateau marmont for dinner! It was AMAZING. Leigh's was black with pink, red and purple squiggles on it and a huge bow, mine was pink, purple, black, green and white squiggles with TOTALLY poufy sleeves and skirt, laurens was navy and black polka dots with bows all down the front. Lauren was not too keen on the idea but we made her wear it anyways. So at the Chateau, we see Tom Green, Fred Durst and Big (as in Rob and Big) sitting at the table two away from us. I put on my Clark Kent glasses and began plotting to give him my number to give to rob. So i did just that. First Leigh and I walked by in our dresses to make a statement. We heard whispers and the word "dresses" and laughter. Then after dinner we went inside to have dessert cause it was too cold, and as we passed by I gave big my card and said "have rob call me" and he was like "okay. I'll do that." But are they even friends anymore? Who knows. So we went inside, and were now sitting beside Shayne Lamas and friends at one table, Matt Dillon and friends at another table! It was a fabulous night for celeb spotting!

October 12
School day. Morning hike, Thirst Project meeting (charity gala planning), Desperate Housewives catch-up with Lauren, turkey sandwiches, and class. I forget what I did at nighttime.

October 13
Happy Birthday Michelle! 8:30 class. Barf. I'm dying from 6:30 wakeup calls. History of Architecture and Interior Design was fabulous! I then had to find a craft store, so I googled Michaels on my phone and found out that there was one just south of school. So I followed the map there, and I realize i'm totally in the ghetto. Homeless people EVERYWHERE, but also police everywhere so i wasn't SO scared... but then i also realized there was no Michaels but plenty of wholesale flower shops ALL over the place. So I found my black calla lilies, and got white hydrangeas and 24 roses all for 25 bucks! It was such a sweet deal! I came home, arranged my fleurs, and then Leigh, Dave and I went to the new cheese shop/cafe at the bottom of the street. Leigh and I had ALMOST the best grilled cheese ever (nothing with ever beat me and Foz's end of summer BBQ Grilled Cheese). I then ventured out on the biggest errand day in life. Target: print pictures for school project, cardstock, black m&Ms. Beauty Supply: 3 OPI nailpolishes. Grove: Abercrombie beater, black and white anthropologie apron, Barnes & Noble for membership card. I decided to scope out the farmers market for my highly sought after black pasta and FOUND IT! Striped farfalle! VICTORY WAS MINE ONCE AGAIN! And i picked up raspberries and blueberries. NExt stop, kitchen supply store for 5 more plates for the party. Sprinkles - where I coincidentally ran into Lauren and ordered my bday cupcakes. There was one more stop but i forget what it was. Then I came home and had dinner, chilled out with the boys and went grocery shopping. Came home and made pasta sauce for my birthday, did my homework and watched 90210 and Melrose.

October 14
6:30 wakeup again. I'm a zombie. Yet it's 11:45 and i still havent gone to bed yet. 9 hours of class sucks, but Taylor brightens my day. Another thing that also brightens my day is being an interior design rockstar. My Design Process teacher was ripping apart everyone's elements of design projects and she said mine was perfect. I also love sketching techniques class with a passion. We got out 20 mins early and i booked it to pilates with Leigh and Myara. PIlates was awesome as usual, stopped by whole foods to pick up more food for tomorrow, came home to an early birthday caupcake from Leigh - from some place that i've never been to called famous cupcakes and it had Kardashians all over the box. It was hilairous, but not as good as sprinkles! Watched Top Model, baked cookies for tomorrow, baked more cookies for the boys, and helped them decorate for Christmas (they're shooting a scene tomorrow that's a christmas scene). Listening to Christmas Carols makes me happy. OH - ANDDDDD Rob informed me that there's an atomic snowboard this season that's black and white and ACTUALLY says "paint it black" on it. I need it. Rob says he's gonna try and hook me up for freeeeee!

10 mins til my birthday!!!!!

Chapter 2

October 9

Busy day.  I finally managed to sleep in ... until 8:06!  Myara the pilates teacher was doing a class called GST (no idea what it stands for) at a studio on Santa Monica so I decided to go.  And it was AMAZING.  Springs and bars and crazy contortions, it was the best full body workout ever!  And she's really one of the most wonderful people ever.

Then it was on to The Sports Club/LA where I met Matt cause he was taking me there to work out.  I thought I was gonna be obsessed with it (cause its super expensive and has schwinn spinning bikes) BUT it wasn't THAT great!  Like, not even as nice as the Cricket Club!  There weren't enough windows, the bikes were the crapster red handled ones that everyone avoids at the club - the handlebars kept loosening and the wheel was really loud!  So needless to say, i'm not that upset that i cant afford to join.  Matt however seems upset.

We then went to sprinkles to pick up our order of two dozen pumpkin cupcakes for Thanksgiving dinner!  And got a free vanilla with cream cheese icing that we split for lunch.  It was pretty plain.  Anddd we ran into none other than Kelly my hairdresser on the street!  It made me feel like I actually live here.

Next on my list of adventures was a search for black and white M&M's - Leigh had seen them at some store, but they didn't have any left today.  I then had planned on going to get prescription lenses for my shades but didn't have time cause it was time for Kelly!  So as i'm driving along Rodeo, what do I see but a matte black M3 with Detroit license plates driving in front of me.  So I honked, he gave me the finger (cause he's an asshole), I waved, he waved, and then we just sat there for a really long red light.

Kelly Pace at Frederic Fekkai is one of the coolest people ever.  She's beautiful and just so entertaining!  She cut off an inch and a half of my precious locks and gave me Victoria's Secret Runway curls for no reason.  Victoria's Secret Runway curls always make me laugh.  We had good conversation about boys and her upcoming wedding and my LA life.  And after it was all over, I didn't even notice the 1.5 inches missing from my hair!

Post haircut I came home, and Leigh and I started in on the impossible task of creating a seating arrangement for tomorrow's dinner.  And then I started painting everyones names on pumpkin gourds... but... the paint started peeling off some of them!  So i'm not sure what were gonna do about that.

Dinner was at Katsuya, we all piled into the Xplorer - Dave said that we'll have to trade cars sometimes because he loves mine.  Xplorer for a Porsche?  Anytime Dave!  Dinner was delicious as usual, then we came home and had a cooking party in the kitchen.  Leigh made her stuffing with the help of Lauren & Dave and I made my Turnip/Apple crumble thing.  Apparently it takes over an hour to boil turnip... which is the reason why it is 12:40 and i'm still awake, waiting for the thing to bake.  So much for getting a decent sleep tonight.

Oh, and i'm also in a Craigslist bidding war for my drafting table... but I think I won... the guy asked me when I could come get it, but then he didnt respond after I told him Sunday.  i better not have to go get it tomorrow - it's half an hour away and we've got a party to throw!

Chapter 2

October 7

I figure today can be the beginning of "chapter 2" of my LA life.  Today was the first day of class.  And hell day, definitely in the top 20 for busiest days of my life.  I exhaustedly woke up yet again at 6:30 and kicked it on over to school for "Design Process" class.  The first thing I need to learn is to say "prawcess" not "process."  Apparently speaking proper English is much too Canadian.  Taylor was in my class, which was wonderful, because she's wicked. We got our first sets of supplies which were just two poster boards, and got our first assignment (the same assignment I did in Miss Fowler's Grade 9 Art about the Principles of Design).

Next up was Principles of Color (not Colour) where I made two new friends Ali and Brittany.  Ali just moved to HB so i told her she had to get a chai latte from HSS.  We got our supplies and it was tons of pads of paper and sheets of paper, a ruler, and a huge mysterious box.  We got back upstairs and opened the mystery box and it was like CHRISTMAS!  Like 10 different paints, brushes, palette knife, palette, xacto knife, extra blades, etc etc etc!  And then we got to paint all class!  I love art school!

Then it was onto sketching techniques, with Taylor again, and I met a new friend named Christine.  It was weird.  We were both like "i've never known another Christine before."  Sketching class was my fave, cause the teacher is sooo badass and young and cool and is also a jewellery designer, cause Taylor was in the class, and cause I was really good at what we were doing (sketching).  And the supplies were awesome too.  Shading markers, sketching markers, pencils, smudgers, drafting tape, etc etc etc.

My grade 10 dreams of going to art school are finally coming true and it's so fun!  It also totally feels like highschool cause the classes are so small, and we have tests.  Hahahah.

Thankfully class got out an hour early.  I went home, Leigh, Dave, Terrie and I all made salmon and steak and veggies for dinner, we started watching top model, and then i got a call from Vino saying that he was free and that i could come for training now (it was supposed to be at 9).  So i threw on my purple kicks and headed to the good old home sweet Palazzo.  I just love the spa/gym at night, dim lights, candles, ginger green tea, apples... what more could you want?  Training was fun, I love Vino (although he made me run stairs which made me love him a little less), and then he told me that he'd book me a massage at the spa for my birthday!  So wonderful!

I came home and went to bed sooooo excited to get to sleep past 6:30.

October 8
Sleeping past 6:30 was interrupted by my 6:30 alarm that I forgot to turn off.  So I tossed and turned in bed until 7:30 when I decided to get up.  Leigh, Dave and I were supposed to go to the beach with Roger, but we didn't so much think that was gonna happen so we planned on hiking first.  But as we were leaving for the hike, Roger ended up saying he'd come to the beach so we only went on a mini hike.  Then we hit up Burton/Channel Islands to get a surf rack for my roof, which we didnt even end up using because Roger insisted on taking his own car.  So the Xplorer followed the M5 all the way to Zuma Beach, passing Alisha Cuthbert in her Carrera.  We stopped for lunch in Malibu, got wonderful cookies, met up with Tristan, and headed to the beach.  It was quite cute because the boys took us to the beach beside my fave beach (with the cliffs and the free parking) and we were like "we should've just gone to the free parking" but then we pull up and the guy tells us that the boys had paid our parking.  It was cute.  Dave and I ripped it up on our boards, I actually had some terrible tumbles, tumbles that resulted in salt water going so far up into my sinuses that i've been having snot rocket action ever since (it's 12:30 pm).  And i'm still sounding stuffed up so I know there's more up there!  Delicious.  We tanned, threw around a football and had a lovely afternoon.

Upon our arrival home, i had 2 couriered packages waiting on my bed.  One was from Momsie & Daddykins (part of birthday present and tank top I forgot at home), and one is a mystery package from Amazon.com!  So, sorry mystery gift-giver that I cannot thank you yet, but i'm gonna wait until my birthday to open the mysterious box!

Leigh and I had dinner with Terrie & Janet, Leigh got ready and left for her casting something, I went in search of a pink electric mixer.  Couldnt find one.  Bought a black one instead and it sucks.  It only has like turbo speed all the way up to light speed.  No slow, medium or fast.  I want to take it back (and find a pink one).  I also picked up the ingredients to make mom's cheesy mashed potatoes.

Came home, about to start the potatoes when Dave, Jordan, Matt and two other boys who i forget their names bribed me with promises of milkshakes to come for dinner with them.  So I went.  We went to the 24 hour burger place in the Roosevelt hotel and I loved it.  Aesthetically pleasing ambiance, good food (i had ice cream but the boys' burgers looked amazing) and Matt and I planned my day tomorrow: 10 - Myara pilates.  11:30 - Sports Club gym with Matt (including lunch & Sprinkles run).  3 - Haircut with Kelly.  After - errands (black & white M&Ms, prescription lenses for my glasses).  8 - Katsuya dinner.  Amazing day!  So we came home from dinner, everyone hung out while i slaved over the stupid potatoes in the kitchen (they would occasionally come in and critisize my potato mashing skills - or lack thereof.  They were hell.  I've never boiled potatoes before and i dont wanna do it again.  So starchy and gross.  My final product ended up lumpy (Terrie warned me not to mash them too much or they'd go starchy, Dave said mine are already starchy) and not as cheesy as Mom's.  I quit.  I'm sticking to baking.

By the way, I finally took pictures today.  I shall post them when I upload them.

Chapter 1

October 5
I felt stress today for the first time in probably over a year.  It was intense.  I didn't like it.  I vow not to let it happen again.

So it was orientation at school today, met up with Alex and Taylor my new friends and sat through lots and lots of people talking, had lunch, and sat through more and more people talking.  Oh, and got tote bags.  I tried to change my schedule but unfortunately couldn't.  This is where the stress began.  I had to change my Thursday afternoon class, since it conflicted with my 3:00 birthday hair appointment.  I really didn't want Thursday class at all since I really don't wanna have to go to school on my birthday.  I then got home and Dave was like "Roger says he's coming to the beach with us on Thursday."  "Roger?  Coming to the beach??"  I'll believe it when I see it.  But I also informed Dave that I could no longer go to the beach since I had class all day Thursday.  Now I was really getting frustrated.  I've never before let school get in the way of my life, and i'm not about to start now.  I had to figure out a way to change this schedule.  Obvious answer - ask my guardian angels!  And I did.  And what happened next is crazy.  As Leigh and I settle in to watch GG, I was the most stressed i'd been in years (even Leigh could tell I was so stressed).  I decide to check the FIDM portal one last time to see if something had magically become available.  And SOMETHING HAD MAGICALLY COME AVAILABLE!  There was one opening in one class that was previously closed, that made my schedule come together like clockwork!  Sayonara Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri schedule, bonjour Mon, Tues, Wed schedule!  My birthday will no longer be ruined!  I can keep my hair appointment!  I can go to the beach! ... as long as i get that one spot in that one class!  So i go upstairs and realize that i have to be at school at 8 to switch my schedule.  Horrible.  Another 6:00 wakeup call.  I've had just about enough of this waking up before 7, I seriously can't handle it.

So I was in bed promptly at 11, but woke up FOUR times from nightmares about not getting the schedule!  And then woke up at 5:30 and couldnt get back to sleep.

October 6
So I was basically a zombie this morning.  Was at the registrars office by 7:30 (had to be the first in line, was not gonna risk letting my nightmares come true), responded to a wonderful email from caleigh, and walked outta there at 8:05 with a brand spankin' new sick schedule!  YES!  Then I sat through the most disorganized and boring international orientation presentation of my life.  Definitely unnecessary for Canadians.  Although I finally met this girl Sam who i'd been instructed by Cathy Langdon to find.  Then I decided to go introduce myself to Brandon's mom, since Roger had instructed me to do that.  She was awesome.  Said if i needed anything (with the exception of changing grades), she'd hook me up.  Sweet.

Went home, Lauren was here, chilled out on the couches with her and chatted a bit, tried to have a nap and couldn't fall asleep so i then decided to hike.  Got horrible tan lines since it was full sunshine, but it was a perfect temperature and quite enjoyable!  Came home, saw leigh for the first time all day, called Vino re. training and set up a time for tomorrow at 9 (busiest day in the history of days), and went to Target to get Christmas lights and candles for the backyard for our Thanksgiving party on Saturday, and pumpkin spice hershey kisses to send home to Mom.

Got home, Matt was here, he told me about his fabulous sounding gym in Beverly Hills that has Schwinn spinning bikes, and said he'd take me on Friday.  I know it's gonna be disgustingly expensive but it's just so hard to go from the luxury of working out at the Cricket Club to working out somewhere less luxurious... I spend enough time at the gym that I deserve beautiful surroundings!  Right?  Right?  Oh and I also desperately want the $900 Restoration Hardware drafting table because i found out yesterday that i need a drafting table and can't downgrade from Dad's wooden beautiful drafting table to a crapster metal 4-legged monstrosity selling for $175 at school...  But maybe downgrading comes with the territory of starting a new life :(  No fair.

Lauren, Dave & I later set up our Christmas lights in the backyard, had Thai for dinner, and Terrie, Lauren & I watched 90210 (Leigh was at acting class).  And the clock will soon strike 11, so I best get to bed since I have to get up at 6:30 tomorrow.  ONE MORE DAY until I can sleep in ... til 9 so we can go to the beach...

Oh, and still no pictures.  My apologies.  Will try and take some soon.

Chapter 1

October 4

Today was a wonderfully relaxing Sunday.  I got up at 7:30, did the Hollywood sign hike (the 2 hours is seriously flying by these days), went to Crate & Barrel to get Round 1 of my birthday present from my Mom & Dad: my cupcake carrier - its seriously the coolest thing ever - 2 levels of muffin tins covered by a clear case.  Soooo perfect.  I also got a really cute cupcake stand (cause I couldn't bring mine from home) to use at my birthday party.  I wandered the streets of Beverly Hills a bit, checking out Lulu for another Jog Skirt (they don't have them anymore), and hitting up Sprinkles for a free red velvet (that went STRAIGHT into the freezer).  Leigh and I are gonna have quite the stockpile of cupcakes pretty soon!  I'm sure we'll have no problem eating them...

Next I went to check out the West Hollywood Book Fair.  It sucked.  There were barely any books, it was grossly crowded with book loving weirdos, I got outta there pretty fast.  Came home, soaked up some rays in the backyard for an hour, made plans with Lauren Zelikovitz (flew in today) to hang out during my 3 hour break on Wednesday, did laundry (how exciting!), organized my shoes and makeup (more excitement), painted my nails, and read.

Desperate Housewives will NOT be the same without Momsie.  I miss her.  Mom, you should probably fly in every sunday to watch it with me okay?

Chapter 1

October 1

Gotta love ROCKtober!  Definitely the best month on the calendar for the following reasons:
1. My birthday.
2. Fall.  Leaves.  Cool weather.  Things that smell like pumpkin pie.
3. Thanksgiving.  Chudleigh's Pumpkin & Apple Crumble pies.
4. Breast cancer month so everything is pink
5. Pink M&Ms
6. Halloween
7. Honeycrisp Apples
8. Libras are so badass

Woke up.  Hollywood sign hike.  Driving test.  Passed with flying colours (obviously)!  Came home.  Got calls from Terrie detailing Dave's car breakdown on the highway en route to the airport.  He missed his flight.  Scoped out Dave's Ralph Lauren purchases (included the SICKEST oil jacket). Pizza for dinner. Grey's Anatomy.  Sorry for the lack of details, it was too many days ago and i dont remember them.

October 2nd
SUCH a productive day.  Got up.  Had green cereal breakfast.  Dave then got a phone call saying that he could catch a private jet to Aspen!  Sweet deal!  So I offered to be his driver for the morning.  First we had to go shopping, which was amazing, cause as i've blogged about before, I LOVE shopping with Dave.  He has good taste in clothes.  So we hit up Beverly & Rodeo but we were SO early, so we sat outside The Coffee Bean and sipped on beverages (japanese cherry tea for me, pomegranate smoothie something for Dave), while bbm-ing Roger, who took every chance he got to make fun of me.  But it's only cause he has a crush on me, so it's okay.  Wanna make out? At 10 we went to Planet Blue to get Rehearsal Dinner Outfit #791 for Leigh "This Western theme is giving me nightmares!" - the cute sales girl (with the most beautiful surfer-mermaid hair ever... makes me want to be blonde again).  Then we went to Ralph Lauren to get Dave another pair of smokin' hot jeans, horseshoe cufflinks and a tie.  He told me that his parents interior designer also designed the RL store, which I think is pretty damn cool.  We then got back into the Xplorer and headed for the private airport in Van Nuys.  I felt so totally like Blair Waldorf as I stood with him on the tarmac.  So cool.  Oh, but first we went to Whole Foods to kill time - I made Dave try his first Honeycrisp apple and he fell in love!  Because how can you not be in love with Honeycrisps?  They're the perfect blend of sweet & sour with the most perfect crispy texture!  Anyways, back to the day.  After dropping Dave i swung by Sprinkles to pick up a free pumpkin cupcake to freeze for Leigh cause they're her favourite.  Then I dropped off a cd of pictures to be printed, discovered "pumpkin spice" hershey kisses - insanely delicious, and went to LA Fitness to scope out the spinning bike situation.  The situation is unfathomably bleak.  I didnt even know what to make of their bikes.  The wheel is in the BACK.  WTF?  The resistance knob is a lever (real bike gear shifter style).  I had to have the seat at the highest and most far back settings in order to have proper form!  It was all so depressing.  While I pedalled I wondered if I could seriously handle this dismal situation for an entire year.  I'm not so sure that I can.  Damn you LA Fitness!  Why do you have to be so much cheaper than all other gyms and why can't you just have Schwinn bikes!?  Terrie and I made chicken and asparagus and carrots for dinner, I put my newly developed pictures in a photo album, tried to go to bed early cause i had to wake up at 6:30 to get my act together and get to school by 8, but then couldn't fall asleep.

October 3
So I was way ahead of schedule and totally didn't need to get up at 6:30, but I do love to be punctual.  And I couldn't sleep at ALL so getting up at 6:30 was easy.  I actually woke up at 5:45 and couldn't fall back to sleep.  I was having a nightmare about something that I don't remember... I do remember that crackers were involved though.  And perhaps a dog.  So yeah, school at 8 to register.  My schedule blows.  I need to rearrange it.  I will rearrange it and get a sick 2 day/week schedule.  Went home for a 3 hour gap in between stuff, went back to school for 1:00 when I saw Brandon - he was giving a presentation on drug/alcohol abuse (Roger had told me he'd be there).  So I felt kinda cool knowing the guest speaker, and realized that Brandon's really a very wonderful person.  I love him.  I also made 3 cool friends.  YES!

Then i came home, talked to Momsie "tell me what you want for your birthday so I can send it!  Or do you just want to buy your own present?", read a fabulous email from Leigh and Robyn that for some reason made me really happy, did some reading (The Crowning Glory of Calla Lily Ponder is going pretty slow...) and then got ready for dinner with Terrie and Lauren at Ago.  Lauren and I had the most amazing pasta EVER.  Gotta love excuses to get pasta!  Spinach & ricotta ravioli in a butter sage sauce.  Dinner was wonderful and cute and girly and now i'm exhausted and ready to chill out with the inside of my eyelids.  Later punks.  Oh - let's not forget to wish Mrs. Stefani a Happy Birthday.  Happy Birthday Gwen!  12 days til my birthdayyyyyyy!
