This weekend was amazing, specifically Saturday. Here's what went down.
Friday morning woke up to a text from Leigh asking if I wanted to hike at 10 after her Thirst meeting. YESSSS because I had been planning on going anyways. So I headed over to her house and as we're walking out the door we see a pretty young mannequin and a dress form bust just chilling out by her gate. The bust was covered in some sort of cheap fabric so we passed on that, but we couldn't resist taking the mannequin... she was just so beautiful! So we tossed her on Leigh's living room floor and went on our hike.
We switched it up today. Firstly we went so late, 10:00 so I got a sweet tan (and some gnarly tan lines), and then we did a loop instead of backtracking. We looped down past the Hollywood Ranch and down Beachwood. The hike aspect sucked (backtracking is a far better workout and more peaceful) but it was cool to do something different, and the houses at the top of beachwood were sick, and so was Hollywoodland! I had no idea it even existed! We hit up Real Raw Live on our loop and got green drinks for lunch. We both went home to shower and pack for our vacation - Dave was in Philly for the weekend so we were vacationing to the beach house!

We met there at 3ish (with a ridiculous amount of luggage, cause who knows what the weekend had in store!), and planned our evening. Then Dave and Todd walk in the door from the car detailing place bearing the most wonderful of all gifts... PINK PEONIES and red velvet cupcakes from lemonade! We've made an executive decision that Lemonade red velvets are wayyyyy better than sprinks. Anyways, it was bizarre, cause I had made my facebook status the previous night "pink peonies" because chuck got them for blaire on GG and they remind me of the ones at the cottage, and apparently leigh had been talking about them with someone and then dave randomly buys them! We all napped, Todd left, we drove Dave to the airport and Leigh and I went for dinner to Hal's on Abbot Kinney. After dinner we went to The Brig where we were invited to play pool by some boys. One was smokin' hot, although he reeked of cigarette smoke. The only guy we were really interested in was Matt Camden from 7th Heaven. He was eye fucking us all night long. And then on our way out he was loitering on the street on his bike (with checkered rims) and Leigh was like "sweet bike!" and he said thanks. We at least thought he would've come and talked to us... but I just googled him and he's married with kids, so that explains it! Although he's a big sleaze bag for giving us the eyes all night... We then went home and went to sleep.
Quote of the night: "How depressing would this be if we were actually single?!" We then burst into laughter and decided that I don't count as being single cause i'm far to picky to actually care about the boys we meet in bars.
Saturday
Today was my favorite California day since last May. I slept in until NINE. That's unbeleivable, and I only woke up because my alarm was set! I totally thoguht I would wake up so early because the two-storey windows shine right into the guest room (i had considered sleeping in me and jordan's room for darkness sake, but i wanted the comfier bed of the guest room). I got up, made oatmeal for leigh and i for breakky, we listened to the new National cd (which is really growing on me and is really good morning music... except i find it really weird that they totally ripped the piano in "England" from the first song on one of the Sufjan Stevens cds)... Anyways... after breakfast we got ready for our morning walk down Abbot Kinney. Wardrobe change #1. We got tea at Intelligentsia, a really cool coffee shop, shopped, I copied Derek's topless Kate Moss shirt (although mine's a different pose), I fell in love with the guy at Aviator Nation after we had a deep conversation about the color of my eyes. Apparently they're crazy. We got invited to some "top secret" concert at some old fashioned wild west store, found my new favorite stationary store and went home to get ready for our bike ride. Wardrobe change #2, splint included.

We headed out to the beach and rode along the bike path and it was just so fun! I felt like a kid. It made me miss Reesy and Tory and bike rides in Hogg's Hollow and falling over handlebars on Mason... So we biked to Urth, had a lovely lunch, and then biked back to the beach to tan for an hour. It was a sandstorm. The wind was insane and blowing sand in our mouths, nose, and into the scroll wheel of my ipod. The buttons dont press properly anymore. Once we tired of the sandstorm we hopped back on the bikes and rode around some more. We went to a fabric store to look for a bow for leigh's hair for the Andrews' 80's party, saw a sign for $18 mani/pedis and couldnt resist, and as we're unlocking our bikes after getting our nails done, Leigh's like "that guy is totally staring at you" and then the guys walk by and i'm like "is your name Allen?" and he's like "is your name Christine?" and it was CRAZYINSANECOINCIDENTAL cause it was Raph's surf instructor! (Who had added me to facebook and called me once so it wasn't totally like a stranger was recognizing us from facebook) but it was really weird. So then we went into his surf lesson office, had a photoshoot with the boards and he offered me a job working for him for the summer. I told him I sucked, I think he thought i was just being modest...
Next stop, Undefeated for stickers for Sunny and Black Beauty, I was sad to hear that they were sold out of the crew neck sweatshirt in small sizes that i had wanted for months but was too lazy to go get. Then to american apparel where Leigh found her hair bow, then to Planet Blue cause we can't stay away. By this time it was 5:30 and we'd been biking around since noon and had a party to get ready for and dinner reservations to make, so we went home.
We got home, were so hungry and needed to sit down for a second, so I ate half an egg salad sandwich and Leigh had soup. We rested for 6 mins and then started getting ready. Outfits were QUITE difficult. It was an 80's party, but we realized that this was LA, and not a Valley Oak Party and that we'd probably be the only ones dressed up. This ruled out Terrie's 80's dresses. So instead we just wore real clothes that were like 80's clothes (wardrobe change #3) and did big hair. I did Leigh's hair sooooooo amazingly, but unfortunately didnt have my hot rollers so my hair sucked.

We had to change our Pace dinner reservation to 9:30 cause we were running late. We had a delicious meal as usual, and we being stared at the entire time by these two boys. And not just normal staring like everyone else was doing because we were wearing 80's costumes, but like intent gaze holding staring and laughing etc. Then eventually one came over and said that they were going to the same party, but that they hadn't heard anything about it being an 80's party. Thank goodness we didnt wear the dresses! After dinner and AMAZING dessert we trekked up Kirkwood to the party (and sneakily persuaded the valet dudes to let us keep my car there til after the lot closed). We get to the party and we were maybe 2 of 10 people that were dressed up out of over 100. It was a RAGER. But it was bizarre. I've never been to a rager where i haven't known the majority of people. It was weird being a stranger, but also fun because we got SOOOOOOOOOO much attention. It was ridiculous. But that also could've been our outfits, but still, we literally stood in the same spot the entire night and a steady rotation of boys came to talk to us. Apparently I have 4 dinner dates this week.... It was really quite flattering but at the same time ridiculous. Is this what dating is? Meeting a random girl for like 20 mins and then asking her on a date because you think she's a babe? (One guy actually called Leigh and I babes, but it was cute cause it reminded me of Matt Gardner)! Oh, and Andrew #2 says that i'll most likely get this interior design assistant pilot part because it's he and two other guys who decide! I'm terribly terribly nervous for the audition though. So we stayed until 2 and then kicked it on home, with a pit stop in a random driveway so we could change from our heels into flipflops for the trek down the mountain to the car.
Sunday
Woke up at 7:06 and desperately tried to fall back to sleep since i didnt go to bed til 3. I kinda fell in and out of sleep for an hour and then leigh texted me saying she was awake so we got up and I made us oatmeal breakfast. We had big plans of biking to Malibu which then changed to Manhattan Beach (with lunch at porto's) ... but then we realized that we had no idea how to get there via bike, so instead we lounged around, listened to The National some more, rode bikes, had lunch at Todd's fave pizza place on Abbot Kinney (such a good call), went back to visit my aviator nation boyfriend to try and get a sticker to tattoo Sunny with (they were all out). Then it got FREEZING and windy which was so wonderful cause being by the beach on a cold windy cloudy day is reminiscent of the cottage on a cold windy cloudy day... like sitting in the Foz's screened in porch with Beau discussing Nancy Drew books or cuddling up with scrabble, but then the sun came out again so we went on the roof to tan. Then leigh had a nap while i tanned some more and read when it got cloudy again, we cleaned the house, and then decided to to for tea at Jin Patisserie. It SUCKED. Biggest disappointment ever. The scones were literally miniscule. Smaller than Bergdorfs which i never even thought would be possible! But it was really cheap so that explains it. After tea we went home and started tattooing sunny with stickers. The crowning glory is definitely the undefeated one and the hot rod one. I then went to pick up Raph while Leigh washed her hair cause he was coming over to give her a haircut. He cut her hair in the shower (cause it's a huge shower and it made cleanup easy) and we gossiped and caught up and they ridiculed me and made fun of me about countless things, but doesn't everyone?

Put some finishing touches on Sunny (not that she's anywhere near being finished, but finished for today), drove Raph home, walked to Lemonade with Leigh, we got dinner and saw our friend that we'd met at the Brig, and on the way home Leigh once again brought up that she's so happy "we're" not single cause it would be so depressing... I once again reminded her that I am. Laughter ensued. Went back to Daves and Leigh watched "An Education" ... it was british so i couldnt bring myself to watch so i did autocad instead. All in all Sunday was a bit weak because we were too tired to do exciting things, but nothing could spoil the wonder that was Saturday!!!! Thanks Dave for letting us vacation at your place!
