May 31

I've been really weirded out lately by how public this blog is, and how much of my life is broadcast on my facebook page. So i didn't write this for a couple days and deleted 50 facebook albums. Thinking about making this blog private but then i have to like invite people to read it and who knows who even reads it anyways? Hmmm what to do.

Friday
Hmmm what did I do last Friday, went for a lovely hike with Leigh and Jess, lunched with Leigh, and then picked Jess up from a meeting and went to see Sex & the City. Went home, ate dinner and decided whether or not I should go to Vegas. I decided on yes, so I packed. Was in bed by midnight.

Saturday

Woke up at 4 am. Couldn't fall back to sleep cause I started stressing that my car was gonna break down on the way there. (I tried to take it in on Friday but good old John couldn't see it til Tuesday). So i lie in bed stressing out for an hour and then at 5 decide to get up and just do it. I have good luck, I figured it would get me there. So i eat breakfast, talk to Jordan on FB (who was already in vegas, just going to sleep), make my hair look pretty, and roll out. I irrationally figured that the problem was with the starter since thats when it makes the horrible clunking noise. So once it started fine outside my house I just decided that I couldn't make any stops. Thank goodness for relatively good gas mileage and amazing bladder capacity! Exactly 4 hours later I arrive. Mike and friends were just waking up, I went along with them to get breakfast but bailed when they decided to drink beer for breakfast. I headed to the pool! Tanned allllll day long, but unfortunately left my sunscreen in the room so I was a bit on the lobster side by the end of the day! Several hours later the boys returned, trashed, and continued their boozing at the pool. Ryan kept trying to buy me drinks but all i would accept was water, was mind-boggled when Mike bought me a Patron shot expecting me to drink it. As if! How long have you known me? I then got a wonderful call from Ben telling me to stop by their room, so i ditched the drunks and ran across the street to the Venetian. I was quite impressed when I actually found their room since that place was like a MAZE! It was soooooooo nice seeing them cause I hadn't seen Jordan in WEEKS! And Nick who I met in Big Bear was there too (and Ben and Todd) and it was just so fun hanging out. Went back at 730 to Mike's room to get ready for dinner, and we all went to Tao. A million sushi rolls later I met back up with Jordan, Ben, Todd & Nick who led me on wild and crazy adventures until 4:30 am. After ending up back at the Venetian I declared that I had been up for 24.5 hours and it was time for bed. So I go back to Mike's room and he's passed out across the entire bed, drunkenly snoring so I was like "F this!" gathered my things, turned right back around and headed back to the Venetian and had a wonderful 4 hour sleep. Oh but wait! As i'm walking through the hotel in lulus and a hoodie I hear someone yell "Christine!" I turn around and there's Natalie from Kappa! She then took a picture of us and i felt like SUCH a nerd cause she was all dressed up and there I was in no makeup and a hoodie. I was like "I promise you I was decked out in heels and sequins 15 mins ago!"

Sunday
I woke up not even soooo exhausted (which was weird), but very sunburnt and very overwhelmed by Vegas in general, so I decided to go home. So i packed up my stuff, bid farewell to both sets of boys and prayed that Black Beauty would get me home without breaking down. (Ben told me that I was right about it being my starter, so i was less worried). Got home in 4 hours again, went to Toast for din with Leigh and then went home. At 7:50 the tired-ness finally started to set in, so I decide to go to sleep! But then my phone rings and Leigh was locked out of her house!!! So I went to rescue her, we decided that breaking in wasn't an option (but believe me, i'm quite skilled when it comes to breaking into cottages), so I brought her back to my place and fell asleep while she waited for Dave and watched the bachelorette.

Monday
Homework. Urth lunch. Invite from Allen to a pool party at Drais that Paris was gonna be at, but I declined because I didn't need any more sun and didn't feel like dealing with more people trying to get me to drink. Homework. Homework. Dinner. Homework. Especially excited to read my astrologyzone horoscope tomorrow ... Lillian my astrologer said that huge changes were coming in June for every sign... I'm excited.

May 27

My car is possessed. The interior lights are turning on by themselves and then i have to press the buttons like 10 times to turn them off. The weirdest part is that it always happens when I cross San Vincente at Olympic, but only at night. And the oil change message is back. WTF. I guess I'll take it in again tomorrow.........

Today was exhausting. 8:30 computer graphics class, good news: the woman who got put in me and Brian's group asked to do the project alone, so it's back to just Brian and I. YES! But we have so much work to do and I suck at Illustrator.

Came home for lunch, did half of my textiles homework.

Went back to school for Dinner at Tiffany's, but unfortunately it was more like dinner in the darkest depths of CAD hell. 6 hours is far too long to spend working on the same drawing. I literally start to go insane, usually its a laughing a lot/talking really loudly/funny insane, but tonight it was a frustrated insane. My hatching wouldn't work and my viewports wouldn't go to non-print and i literally wanted to cry. Taylor, Akela and I (Deeann was sick) were all sooooo overwhelmed with the amount of work we had that we barely even talked - oh but Taylor did tell us all about her weekend adventures at Neverland (yes, Michael Jackson's Neverland)! On our way back to our cars (it was so weird seeing the parking lot jam-packed cause of the Laker game when its usually deserted at that hour) this crazy man came up to us and made a spitting noise at us, but didnt actually spit thank God, but it was still terrifying and we ran to our cars.

May 26

I'm not the only weirdo: Just found out that Vanna White uses an electric toothbrush at night and a regular toothbrush in the morning too!

I'll start with yesterday because it was a boring day.

Yesterday
Woke up. Went to the gym. My trainer tracked me down and asked how the healing was going. Went home, went to the Grove. I needed new headphones because the right ear in mine is crackly. I seriously don't know what it is with my right ear but the past FIVE right ears of headphones have all broken! I was hoping to get the old apple ones without the remote thing for free cause thats what happened last time (when the remote gets sweaty it starts skipping songs and pausing and it makes me want to rip my ears off), but unfortunately they ran out of all the old ones! They said they'd give me a pair of new ones, but I already have a working pair of new ones. So disappointing. Went back to the car, realized I lost my parking ticket, so the lovely concierge hooked me up with a fake parking ticket so i didnt have to pay the $24 lost ticket fee!

Went straight to the elbow doctor, received the news that it's healing quickly and well, but i still can't surf or do any weight bearing arm exercises. Bummer. I go back in two weeks. In the meantime i have to work on straightening and bending the elbow. Come back to me hyperextension!

Went to HotRod on the way home to discuss Vegas plans with Cam... but he wasn't there! I fully got stood up cause he didn't even answer his phone! So I chatted with Hunter and Bernard.

Went home. Did homework. Got asked out on two dinner dates. Realized the new BBBold in white isn't available on ATT! Oh if only my Roger's upgrade hadn't been erased... What to do... Caleigh says I shouldn't get the old Bold, so do I settle for the new one in black? Is black even settling? It's probably the right choice seeing as all my other pink electronics have been replaced by black ones... time to trade pinkberry for blackberry?

Today
Woke up and got ready for my audition. Andrew #2 hooked me up with an audition for a reality tv show pilot about an interior designer and her assistant. I auditioned to be the assistant. Went to the casting office or whatever it was, had to watch a clip of the designer in action (total hardass, but the type of hardass that does wicked shit). It was so funny being in front of the camera because i'm so used to being the one filming Leigh in her auditions! So I had to talk about myself, my design style, how I would design an office for a big shot executive, what i thought of the designer, and why i should get the role. I think I did really well! Only downside is that i most likely will be in Toronto when it films, and therefore couldn't even take it if i got it!

Went home, talked to Mike, and he said that I should still come to Vegas and I can share his room. Sweet!!! So i'm going Friday. Maybe he'll be my good luck charm - last time he went to Vegas he left with more money than he came with. Let's get ready to gamble our lives away! (But more like tan my life away cause that's all i'm really concerned about doing)!

Got in the car to go to school and I hear the song "Teach Me How to Dougie"... I don't know who it's by, but it was hilarious because Jordan just filmed the video for that song, and we were in the studio laughing about it and i didnt even think it was a real song but there it was on the radio! Anyways, I arrived at school and it was WONDERLAND! Literally. They were having some fashion show/concert to celebrate the release of alice in wonderland and there were such cool decorations everywhere! Went to class, wrote the exam, finished way early and went outside with Christine #2 and Jen to tan for the 40 mins until the exam was over. We watched them set up for the Alice thing, took some snaps, ate raisinettes and laughed.

La Scala chicken chopped salad for dinner. Cuddling up with Foxy and Shia, Transformers is on.

May 24

Happy Victoria Day my fellow Canadians! Unfortunately my day was far less enjoyable than it would've been at the cottage - spending the day tanning with Court & Alyssa or messing about in boats with the cottage boys ... except I'm pretty sure Court is in the states and Beau is lost somewhere on Machu Picchu...

Woke up and was terribly tired from our lack of sleep weekend, but dragged myself to Brentwood to see Dawn. Came home, went for a walk, burnt some textiles, then ventured down to the textile lab at the FIDM Loft. It was pretty cool. We burned, ripped, abraded, and played with chemicals. Oh, and we crocked. But Jen and I had a dance party while we crocked (instead of rocking out, we crocked out) and Christine took snaps. And I was totally color coordinated with the strength/elasticity machine. Anddddd I found out my teacher is from Toronto too! I love her even more! But even more for one other reason that i've been sworn to secrecy about... it involves a fabulous surprise. Stay tuned.

Had lovely conversations with my mom, Ryan and LPas. Can't wait to go home. Oh! And best news of the day - my California license FINALLY came!!!!! I only applied for it NINE months ago!

Random complaints: I miss Derek. I miss Jordan. I need an ipod dock: playing music from my computer is driving me insane, and a new blackberry cause pinkberry is on it's last legs. I need money, I need to get this pilot! ... Wednesday...

And I feel like watching Gone with the Wind...

"Great balls of fire! Don't bother me anymore, and don't call me sugar."

And re-reading The Great Gatsby...

"You weren't so nice to me last night... However - I want to see you."

Night zzzzzzzzz

Vacation

This weekend was amazing, specifically Saturday. Here's what went down.

Friday morning woke up to a text from Leigh asking if I wanted to hike at 10 after her Thirst meeting. YESSSS because I had been planning on going anyways. So I headed over to her house and as we're walking out the door we see a pretty young mannequin and a dress form bust just chilling out by her gate. The bust was covered in some sort of cheap fabric so we passed on that, but we couldn't resist taking the mannequin... she was just so beautiful! So we tossed her on Leigh's living room floor and went on our hike.

We switched it up today. Firstly we went so late, 10:00 so I got a sweet tan (and some gnarly tan lines), and then we did a loop instead of backtracking. We looped down past the Hollywood Ranch and down Beachwood. The hike aspect sucked (backtracking is a far better workout and more peaceful) but it was cool to do something different, and the houses at the top of beachwood were sick, and so was Hollywoodland! I had no idea it even existed! We hit up Real Raw Live on our loop and got green drinks for lunch. We both went home to shower and pack for our vacation - Dave was in Philly for the weekend so we were vacationing to the beach house!

We met there at 3ish (with a ridiculous amount of luggage, cause who knows what the weekend had in store!), and planned our evening. Then Dave and Todd walk in the door from the car detailing place bearing the most wonderful of all gifts... PINK PEONIES and red velvet cupcakes from lemonade! We've made an executive decision that Lemonade red velvets are wayyyyy better than sprinks. Anyways, it was bizarre, cause I had made my facebook status the previous night "pink peonies" because chuck got them for blaire on GG and they remind me of the ones at the cottage, and apparently leigh had been talking about them with someone and then dave randomly buys them! We all napped, Todd left, we drove Dave to the airport and Leigh and I went for dinner to Hal's on Abbot Kinney. After dinner we went to The Brig where we were invited to play pool by some boys. One was smokin' hot, although he reeked of cigarette smoke. The only guy we were really interested in was Matt Camden from 7th Heaven. He was eye fucking us all night long. And then on our way out he was loitering on the street on his bike (with checkered rims) and Leigh was like "sweet bike!" and he said thanks. We at least thought he would've come and talked to us... but I just googled him and he's married with kids, so that explains it! Although he's a big sleaze bag for giving us the eyes all night... We then went home and went to sleep.

Quote of the night: "How depressing would this be if we were actually single?!" We then burst into laughter and decided that I don't count as being single cause i'm far to picky to actually care about the boys we meet in bars.

Saturday
Today was my favorite California day since last May. I slept in until NINE. That's unbeleivable, and I only woke up because my alarm was set! I totally thoguht I would wake up so early because the two-storey windows shine right into the guest room (i had considered sleeping in me and jordan's room for darkness sake, but i wanted the comfier bed of the guest room). I got up, made oatmeal for leigh and i for breakky, we listened to the new National cd (which is really growing on me and is really good morning music... except i find it really weird that they totally ripped the piano in "England" from the first song on one of the Sufjan Stevens cds)... Anyways... after breakfast we got ready for our morning walk down Abbot Kinney. Wardrobe change #1. We got tea at Intelligentsia, a really cool coffee shop, shopped, I copied Derek's topless Kate Moss shirt (although mine's a different pose), I fell in love with the guy at Aviator Nation after we had a deep conversation about the color of my eyes. Apparently they're crazy. We got invited to some "top secret" concert at some old fashioned wild west store, found my new favorite stationary store and went home to get ready for our bike ride. Wardrobe change #2, splint included.

We headed out to the beach and rode along the bike path and it was just so fun! I felt like a kid. It made me miss Reesy and Tory and bike rides in Hogg's Hollow and falling over handlebars on Mason... So we biked to Urth, had a lovely lunch, and then biked back to the beach to tan for an hour. It was a sandstorm. The wind was insane and blowing sand in our mouths, nose, and into the scroll wheel of my ipod. The buttons dont press properly anymore. Once we tired of the sandstorm we hopped back on the bikes and rode around some more. We went to a fabric store to look for a bow for leigh's hair for the Andrews' 80's party, saw a sign for $18 mani/pedis and couldnt resist, and as we're unlocking our bikes after getting our nails done, Leigh's like "that guy is totally staring at you" and then the guys walk by and i'm like "is your name Allen?" and he's like "is your name Christine?" and it was CRAZYINSANECOINCIDENTAL cause it was Raph's surf instructor! (Who had added me to facebook and called me once so it wasn't totally like a stranger was recognizing us from facebook) but it was really weird. So then we went into his surf lesson office, had a photoshoot with the boards and he offered me a job working for him for the summer. I told him I sucked, I think he thought i was just being modest...

Next stop, Undefeated for stickers for Sunny and Black Beauty, I was sad to hear that they were sold out of the crew neck sweatshirt in small sizes that i had wanted for months but was too lazy to go get. Then to american apparel where Leigh found her hair bow, then to Planet Blue cause we can't stay away. By this time it was 5:30 and we'd been biking around since noon and had a party to get ready for and dinner reservations to make, so we went home.

We got home, were so hungry and needed to sit down for a second, so I ate half an egg salad sandwich and Leigh had soup. We rested for 6 mins and then started getting ready. Outfits were QUITE difficult. It was an 80's party, but we realized that this was LA, and not a Valley Oak Party and that we'd probably be the only ones dressed up. This ruled out Terrie's 80's dresses. So instead we just wore real clothes that were like 80's clothes (wardrobe change #3) and did big hair. I did Leigh's hair sooooooo amazingly, but unfortunately didnt have my hot rollers so my hair sucked.

We had to change our Pace dinner reservation to 9:30 cause we were running late. We had a delicious meal as usual, and we being stared at the entire time by these two boys. And not just normal staring like everyone else was doing because we were wearing 80's costumes, but like intent gaze holding staring and laughing etc. Then eventually one came over and said that they were going to the same party, but that they hadn't heard anything about it being an 80's party. Thank goodness we didnt wear the dresses! After dinner and AMAZING dessert we trekked up Kirkwood to the party (and sneakily persuaded the valet dudes to let us keep my car there til after the lot closed). We get to the party and we were maybe 2 of 10 people that were dressed up out of over 100. It was a RAGER. But it was bizarre. I've never been to a rager where i haven't known the majority of people. It was weird being a stranger, but also fun because we got SOOOOOOOOOO much attention. It was ridiculous. But that also could've been our outfits, but still, we literally stood in the same spot the entire night and a steady rotation of boys came to talk to us. Apparently I have 4 dinner dates this week.... It was really quite flattering but at the same time ridiculous. Is this what dating is? Meeting a random girl for like 20 mins and then asking her on a date because you think she's a babe? (One guy actually called Leigh and I babes, but it was cute cause it reminded me of Matt Gardner)! Oh, and Andrew #2 says that i'll most likely get this interior design assistant pilot part because it's he and two other guys who decide! I'm terribly terribly nervous for the audition though. So we stayed until 2 and then kicked it on home, with a pit stop in a random driveway so we could change from our heels into flipflops for the trek down the mountain to the car.

Sunday
Woke up at 7:06 and desperately tried to fall back to sleep since i didnt go to bed til 3. I kinda fell in and out of sleep for an hour and then leigh texted me saying she was awake so we got up and I made us oatmeal breakfast. We had big plans of biking to Malibu which then changed to Manhattan Beach (with lunch at porto's) ... but then we realized that we had no idea how to get there via bike, so instead we lounged around, listened to The National some more, rode bikes, had lunch at Todd's fave pizza place on Abbot Kinney (such a good call), went back to visit my aviator nation boyfriend to try and get a sticker to tattoo Sunny with (they were all out). Then it got FREEZING and windy which was so wonderful cause being by the beach on a cold windy cloudy day is reminiscent of the cottage on a cold windy cloudy day... like sitting in the Foz's screened in porch with Beau discussing Nancy Drew books or cuddling up with scrabble, but then the sun came out again so we went on the roof to tan. Then leigh had a nap while i tanned some more and read when it got cloudy again, we cleaned the house, and then decided to to for tea at Jin Patisserie. It SUCKED. Biggest disappointment ever. The scones were literally miniscule. Smaller than Bergdorfs which i never even thought would be possible! But it was really cheap so that explains it. After tea we went home and started tattooing sunny with stickers. The crowning glory is definitely the undefeated one and the hot rod one. I then went to pick up Raph while Leigh washed her hair cause he was coming over to give her a haircut. He cut her hair in the shower (cause it's a huge shower and it made cleanup easy) and we gossiped and caught up and they ridiculed me and made fun of me about countless things, but doesn't everyone?
Put some finishing touches on Sunny (not that she's anywhere near being finished, but finished for today), drove Raph home, walked to Lemonade with Leigh, we got dinner and saw our friend that we'd met at the Brig, and on the way home Leigh once again brought up that she's so happy "we're" not single cause it would be so depressing... I once again reminded her that I am. Laughter ensued. Went back to Daves and Leigh watched "An Education" ... it was british so i couldnt bring myself to watch so i did autocad instead. All in all Sunday was a bit weak because we were too tired to do exciting things, but nothing could spoil the wonder that was Saturday!!!! Thanks Dave for letting us vacation at your place!

Grey Day Revisited

I haven't watched Grey's Anatomy in like three years, but the season finale was on when I got home from school and after seeing everyones Eastern Standard Time reactions on Facebook, I decided to tune in. It was great. Brought me back to the many "Grey Days" at the Dales. I miss those.

I did not want to get out of bed today. Waking up before 7 am is just so hard! Computer Graphics sucked. Well, half sucked. The first half was sweet because he decided to actually teach us how to use Illustrator today "this is how you use the pen tool" ... but obvi i'd already taught myself, so i got my online class homework done. Second half, we got into our groups for our final project. Of course the mature student who doesn't talk (and when she does, whispers) and Illustratorly-challenged has no group and is assigned to me and Brian's group. Great. I promised myself that I wouldn't let myself end up doing the whole project.

Career services appointment. My resume is "great" ... sweet. And I got a whole bunch of intern opps that I have to sort through.

Dinner at Tiffany's seems to be getting longer and longer every week. We were going crazy tonight. Our vending machine mission was out of control... I talk too loudly, Akela and Taylor laugh at - i mean with me, people stare. We bought lots of food, I referred to it as our "spoils," Taylor and Akela died of laughter. But the funniest thing was that there were these bags of like 12 cookies... fake oreos, called "duplex" cookies b/c they had choc and vanilla cookies and I dared akela to get them and she did. They were disgusting... but even American oreos are disgusting so what did I expect! I told the girls that i'll bring them some Canadian Oreos back so they can taste the un-slimy creamy goodness! Class dragged on ... it was a work period the ENTIRE time. 6 hours of CAD and no play makes Christine a dull girl. I was a lunatic by the end of it! Highlights: "Those Bulvarians really know how to bake!" "Bulgarians or Bavarians?", weekend plans: Me & Leigh's vacation. Taylor & Teddy's visit to Neverland (for serious!).

Time for a little GG finale action and then bed. Can't wait for tomorrow! (And Saturday and Sunday). Oh... I noticed an ad on a bench for the new Band of Horses cd. Gotta check that out. Also gotta email my platonic life partner... I apologize for my tardy response Reesy!

XOXO,

Gossip Girl

May 19

I'm too tired and it's too late to write much. I have to get up in 6 hours.
DMV - had to renew my registration and change my address... cause I can't do this online cause i dont have a social security #. Homework. Class. La Scala. Homeworkhomeworkhomework. I had every intention of watching GG but it just didn't happen. I spent many hours doing my ad agency specs... all professional since i'm no stranger to spec writing, and then Taylor said that she just handwrote hers and didn't include nearly as much info as I did. Hmmmm... looks like the overachiever in me strikes again?

Bedtime. Goodnight. Counting the hours until my weekend getaway!

May 18

I'm developing quite the decent collection of tools. Today I added an awl to my hammer/level/screw driver/tape measure/wire cutters/pliers collection. I woke up to a deliciously rainy day and decided that today was the day that I was gonna hang my wall of fame. It had been lying on the floor for way too long. So I got up, went to the gym, ran on the treadmill and did the stair mill cause I can't do spinning with my elbow, and i'm quitting spinning anyways due to the thick thigh factor.

Went to the hardware store beside Whole Foods on the way home where I had intended to buy a drill but the lovely hardware dude told me that an awl would suffice. So I got that as well as anchors and screws. Went to Whole Foods to get lunch, found out that Whole Foods no longer carries M Cafe stuff (thank goodness actual M is 2 blocks away)! Came home, cleaned my apartment now that I can actually do stuff with my right arm and got down to business with the wall of fame.

It took hours. Well maybe not hours but definitely over one hour. Figuring out placement and measurements and then measuring and leveling and just dealing with the plaster wall was hell! I hate plaster! I totally needed a drill cause hammering in the awl took out some nice chunks of the wall. But whatever, nothing a little drywall compound won't fix!

When I was FIIIINALY done (minus two frames that I still need to get), I finished my dreaded textiles homework project and then made some Dorian Chicken for dinner! I managed to put a nice little slice in my finger while cutting sweet potatoes though. That's what happens when you don't have proper arm strength and use a huge knife.

90210 finale. Nowhere near as good as last year, or as cozy, or as good music. Last year Dave and I enjoyed a pot of sleepytime tea while watching, and I remembered how much I loved "The Funeral" by Band of Horses. I miss last May.

The Perfect Storm

May 17

Today was one of my favorite days here. It reminded me of the day back in the Fall when it was gloomy and rainy and Leigh, Dave, Jordan and I sat around all day listening to +44 and doing work.

I got up at 6:45 to be at Leigh's to hike at 7:30. I walked outside and realized it was raining, but I went anyways cause I had woken up early and got ready and I wasn't gonna let it go to waste. The drive was wonderful and relaxing and cozy, heat on, listening to Rich Hill - sooooo reminiscent of the fall. Get to Leigh's, there was street cleaning so we couldn't park in front of her house so we drive to Canyon and park there. Leigh had forgotten her headphones so we decided to go sans music. It was nice to talk the whole way. Before when we lived together we'd always listen to our ipods cause we were hiking every day, and seeing each other every minute of the day, so there was really nothing exciting to talk about on our hikes, but now we get to actually have good conversations and its really nice. It was one of my favorite hikes ever, not just because of the good conversation, but because it was literally magical in the canyon today. Crazy mist/fog/rain and no one else but us. I loved it. And in the words of Meredith: "there were probably cartoon birds and music notes following you around" ... yup. And sparkly magic trailing behind us.

After the hike I came home and watched Mary Poppins. Today was all about fairytales apparently. It was amazing. I met up with Leigh, Meredith, Andrew & Jeff for lunch and we went to Jack & Jill cafe or whatever it's called. I love Meredith, she's one of those people who just makes you feel good about yourself and is lovely to be around! After lunch Leigh had to go to a meeting with her agency and the boys had to go back to work, so we walked around a bit and then I went home to go pick up Black Beauty.

My wish came true - she was returned to me all shiny and new! But of course it had to rain today! I then went to Hot Rod because it was time for a cozy rainy tea party and I didn't wanna drink tea solo. Cam, Hunter and I drank tea, laughed, gossiped about boys and girls, filmed a video and talked really loudly. Cameron was so proud of me for going out and going on dates. It brought a tear to Hunter's eye. Then they started brainstorming about some movie where a guy finds a dying baby on a football field and saves it... or something along those lines. I drove Hunter home and then came home.

And now i'm running off to meet Meredith & Leigh & Andrew & Andrew for dinner.

"You'd like fold him up and cut him into stars and put them all around your room." - Meredith

Update: Dinner @ La Poubelle, dessert at Birds. Meredith psychologically analyzed Leigh and I and it was so interesting, Andrew #1 said he'd get me Lady Gaga tickets and Andrew #2 wants me to come to a casting for a reality show he's doing about an interior designer and her assistant. I'd be the assistant. What's with me and reality shows these days!? It's hilarious.

May 16

Coziest day ever. Woke up to sunshine and headed downtown to some fabric store to get fabric for my textiles project. Got a call from Leigh saying that she and the boys were heading out for breakfast and i should join, but unfortch I wouldn't have made it there in time since the fabric choosing was much more complicated than I had anticipated. She also informed me that Dave and Jordan want us to come to Vegas with them in two weekends which is the most exciting news everrrr! So I met up with them after breakfast at the bike store where they were shopping for beach cruisers. Leigh and I went back to Dave's to meet the masseuse who was on her way over. Oh, and it got amazingly cloudy.

While Leigh was getting her massage, Dave and Todd returned with two shiny new bikes. One matte black and one turquoise and white. So cute. So we rode them around for a bit (it was kinda tough with my un-splinted elbow - i've retired the splint cause i'm too tired of wrapping it up). Meredith and her cousin arrived so we went back upstairs and chilled on the roof for a bit, they went home, we all had naptime while Todd got his massage, I hadn't been that tired in a LONG time, and then decided to go for "lunch" to the counter. (Lunch in quotations because it was 4:00). We were disappointed because we forgot that the Counter burgers really aren't that good and we should've gone to Umami. Next time. We then hit up 17 bank machines, were really freezing cold, laughed a lot and choked (me) and then went back to Daves.

Now i'm home, leaving soon to go to Leigh's for a DH season finale party/hot date with Jordan & Mario at pinkberry.

Update: Jordan told us that Mario no longer works at Pinkberry. I told him that was okay cause I liked him the best anyways. Totally have a fake crush on him. Totally have a real crush on the other Jordan as well. Leigh and I decided that we're gonna add Pinkberry Jordan to facebook and bake him something the next time we go. We also realized (after Todd pointed it out this afternoon) that we're really really often saying the exact same things at the same time - and not just words, whole phrases. At the same time. And we get the same food cravings at the same time too (pizza two weekends ago, burgers today). I think its cute.

May 15
Literally spend the ENTIRE day doing homework. Well like, 9-4. Then I went to Whole Foods and grocery shopped. At 11 I walked over to the Thompson hotel (literally 20 steps away from my apartment) and met up with Meredith who was there with her cousin and friends, (the first thing she said to me was "i love that smile!" and it was pretty cute, chilled with Zach Braff (although I didn't even recognize him at first because i'm so unobservant!) and then Leigh and Jess arrived and we went to Trousdale. It was actually fun. We danced up a storm in 5 inch heels, talked to NFL players and Zach Braff again and actually stayed there until the lights came on. Definitely haven't stayed til closing at a bar or club since Queen's (because we all know how much i loooooove going out). But last night was good, I actually didn't hate it!

May 14

For some reason, my run-ins with celebrities always involve shoes. Drew Barrymore complimenting me on my black/pink Lopez Circas back in the day, Elizabeth Berkeley and I discussing her ruby slipper converse and today someone else... who will remain nameless so i dont get contacted by her people telling me to delete my blog... been there, done that! But I will say that she was soooooo Enchanting! I was strolling along Beverly on my way to the parking garage from Planet Blue beside this couple. All of a sudden paparazzi RUNS over and literally its a picture taking frenzy! And i was directly beside the couple and it was so awkward cause i was fully in the way of their pictures, so i moved, which was probably a stupid idea cause i should've ruined all the pics for their sake but those paparazzis are intimidating little buggers! So anyways, I have no idea who these people are, until we get into the parking garage elevator lobby and the girl takes off her sunglasses - and I totally recognized her! So i'm jokingly like "I hate when that happens!" and they start laughing, and then she tells me how cute my shoes are! (Sam Edelman wedges) so I told her where i got them but then she's like "oh but i couldnt get them in my current condition" and motions down to her very pregnant belly, and then continues "i can wear heels fine right now but i'm just scared that when i have the baby i'm gonna fall over holding it!" So we continued chatting in the elevator and she was just so cute and nice!

But back to the beginning of the day. 6:45 wakeup call, was out the door by 7:05, at Leigh's by 7:25 for our 7:30 hike. It was a wonderful hike as usual. No shin splints today! Next stop was dropping off Black Beauty for her transmission transplant. Got hooked up with a sweet rental pickup (cause its May, and it's LA, and only fitting for me to drive a pickup or a liberty). Then came the Planet Blue excursion followed by Dry Bar. I think it'll be the last time that I can justify going there, my elbow is feeling really good and i think i can probably wash my own hair :( But it was a great note to end on - Nava who did my hair was wonderful and was talking all about astrology and telling me what a wonderful and beautiful person I was... it was a pretty huge confidence booster.

Then I headed to meet with some casting people for a certain reality tv show... it was bizarre. Leigh had me prepared for a whole bunch of girls and for it to be filmed but it was just me, talking about myself, and that was it. Very casual. They told me to keep in touch with them... so we'll see what happens.

Came home and sat down to my illustrator homework only to realize that i saved my previous 3 hours of work as a PDF not an illustrator file! Nightmare! I hate illustrator.

Met Leigh and Dave and Dave's cousin for dinner, was supposed to go to a comedy show with them but since I hate comedy and was soooooo tired, I decided to just come home instead.

Last year today was the day that Leigh and Robyn left. May is half over. It's f-ing insane.

May 13

Zombiegirl strikes again. I was up too late last night to have to wake up at 6:30 for school this morning. Computer class was shockingly productive today! He assigned us our homework first thing and we got to work on it all class while he called us up individually to critique our work to date. I'm getting better at Illustrator. Thank God! He assigned our final project and Brian and I are gonna be a team (or part of a team). Hit up the store at school and got Jordan's sister 5 bags of coconut M&Ms because she loves them as much as I do and thought they were only available in Hawaii!

4 hour break involved going to La Scala and getting a chopped salad for my dinner, doing half my online course homework and several full house episodes. Also watched my beloved Teri Hatcher on Regis and Kelly!

Dinner at Tiffany's was the LONGEST class ever. It seriously seemed like 9 hours not 6. I think it's cause we had SO much to do today, and so much technical stuff, and we were all just concentrating too hard. There defnintely wasn't enough laughing. The most exciting part was when Taylor got some mysterious vampire bites on the back of her neck and it swelled up HUGE! But yeah, CAD is getting complicated and I don't like it. We walked out of there SO confused, and so unsure of what we needed to do for homework. "So we basically do everything?" - Akela. Oh, the BEST part of class was that I was actually able to eat my dinner with my right hand!!!! The elbow is healing! ... Although everyone was laughing at me cause I had to hold my fork like a cave man (like how you would grip a brush). I knew there was some laughter in there somewhere. Oh, and there was Akela's raisinette disaster - she was fooled into buying the ones in the box that unfortunately taste like cardboard.

Leigh wanted me to go to Birds with her after class, but i'm just too tired and need to get up early to take Black Beauty in for her transmission transplant.

Tomorrow is gonna be busy... Ford. Planet Blue. Dry Bar. ABC Studios. Jordan's Studio. Fun.

May 12

What Black Beauty needs more than a new transmission is a car wash! I'm banking on her coming back clean after her transmission transplant.

Spencer Pratt entertains me to no end. Last week with his crystals, this week with his outrageous outbursts. It's hilarious!

Today was filled with autocad and sleepyiness. And elbow amazement. I can seriously almost do normal things! I'm two inches away from being able to eat with my right hand again! Although, now that i'm actually using my arm for stuff, it's hurting, but the pain is sooooo worth being able to use two hands!

I did homework this morning, caught up on tv that I had missed, and went to school. Textiles was somewhat uneventful today, the only excitement came from discussions on Knoll bags (canvas vs. nylon), Knoll pencils, and crushes. Came home, broke my Wednesday night La Scala dinner tradish cause I was going on a date with the guy I met at the Palazzo. My first date with someone who I didn't already know very well. For this reason I wouldn't let him pick me up. "I'll meet you there, cause for all I know you're an axe murderer!" We went to the Village Idiot on Melrose and it was soooo cool and there was AMAZING banana cake. Well it wasnt really banana cake, it was chocolate cake layered with banana ice cream with chocolate/peanut butter sauce on top. So amazing. Apparently I have perfect teeth and annunciate my words well. I also think he was taken aback by how blunt I am about things (like the axe-murderer comment).

Oh, back to before dinner. I had a lovely text conversation with Ben regarding my rental car options while black beauty is getting her transplant. I say pickup truck (obvi), Ben says prius (barf)... or Ford Fiesta... which I should then take to Germany and drive on the autobahn like Dave & Jordan. hahahahahhah.

Leigh and I just made plans to move into Dave's next weekend cause he's going out of town. I can't wait! A wonderful seaside holiday weekend! We'll drink and eat lemonade, suntan, skateboard with proper footwear and not break bones, wear aviator nation hoodies and jean shorts and maybe i'll even attempt to do pilates! And we'll start sewing our new clothing line! It will be sooooo wonderful! Oh, and I'll totally decorate me & jordan's room with Justin Bieber, JT, JHar, and Zac Efron posters!

May 11

My elbow is all of a sudden amazing! I CAN TOUCH MY FACE! This means I can actually put my hair in a ponytail (and maybe even wash it myself) start wearing makeup again and flossing my teeth with normal floss instead of those horrible disgusting floss on a stick things! Glide floss, it's nice to have you in my life again!

I hit up Dry Bar at 8:15 this morning. It was the only morning time they had available. Once again, I emerged with amazingly bouncy mermaid locks. I had half an hour to kill before my elbow dr. appointment, so I killed time drinking tea and reading (Mercury in Retrograde by Paula Froelich, hard core chick lit, but alright for this time of year) at Starbucks. Went to the doctor, got more xrays, a shorter splint, and the info that my bone is healing well. I have to go back in two weeks. Between now and then I can start wearing a flexible splint. The one he gave me is the ugliest POS i've ever seen so i've gotta scope out the drugstores for a cooler one. Oh, and my tensor/ace bandage collection has never been so vast! They keep giving me more and more! I have 8. It's sick.

Checked my phone after leaving the doctor and there was a message from Carli Jo from The Bachelor asking me to come in for a casting meeting. Unbelievable! It's the funniest thing in the entire world. I can't get over it.

Went to Best Buy to return a cable that they told me to buy when I got my tv that Time Warner ended up providing, could only get a credit note since I had lost the receipt so I got to buy movies! The Parent Trap (Hayley Mills version) cause Leigh and I had been talking about how we needed it, Mean Girls, The Notebook, and Mary Poppins. All essentials. Now if only Brandon would return the rest of my dvds, my LA movie collection would be pretty solid!

Was gonna meet Leigh for lunch at M Cafe but she ended up running late after work (and was all the way in Woodland Hills) so I decided to go to Lemonade instead because i've grown tired of M Cafe. And now i'll probably go to Lemonade every day until I get tired of it as well! I had seared ahi tuna, and broccoli and sweet potato salads. I resisted the banana cake. More on that later.

Went home, lounged around and read and drank tea and ate almonds, tried to coordinate Leigh's haircut with Raph but it wasn't gonna work for tonight. Went over to Dave's so Jordan could help me with my homework. Leigh, Dave and I walked to Abbott Kinney for sushi, but first stopped in at Aviator Nation to check it out. (It's the brand of my Pray for Surf hoodie). Leigh got a sick hoodie, I tried on a million pairs of sweatpants but couldnt decide which ones i liked the best. All I really wanted was the crew neck sweatshirt but they only had XL and XXL (Mens) left. Left, had really good sushi for dinner, and then went to Lemonade to pick up dessert! Leigh wanted nothing to do with it so Dave and I picked out a lovely little selection: Banananananana Cake, some peanut butter chocolate crispy bar, a red velvet cupcake and a peanut butter cupcake. We brought it back to Dave's and ate it on the roof while watching the sunset and drinking tea and listening to Dirty Heads.

Once the sun was down we went inside and Jordan arrived. He helped me with my Illustrator homework (I hate illustrator) while we watched The Parent Trap! Oh, and Leigh and I brainstormed about a clothing line that we're gonna start! After the homework was complete I went upstairs to say bye to him and found him in his "room" (the cupboard room which I had the bright idea of putting a bed in, although Jordan will tell you that it was his idea). We cuddled and discussed current events: Zac Efron posters, DTA stickers, transmissions, and broken bones. I love him.

May 10

Today. Woke up with a bad case of shin splints! They get me every time I haven't hiked in a while. It sucks. This morning's events included seeing Dawn and devising a new workout plan once i'm healed that includes pilates and ballet and limits the spinning big time, cause I want my bulky legs gone. Left Brentwood and headed straight for Los Feliz to take Black Beauty in for servicing. I get there and the cute old man (who loves me) is like "do you have someone coming to pick you up?" and i told him i had planned on waiting. He told me that his tranny guy wouldn't even be able to look at it until the end of the day and if it was a big problem, she would have to be in the shop for like three days. I was aghast! So then he's like "come with me" and we go talk to the tranny guy and he puts my car up on the lift right then and i point out the leak and he tells me the whole thing needs to be replaced. (I felt really cool going behind the scenes by the way). So I agree to bring her back on Friday. Being car-less for the weekend is gonna SUCK! I told Leigh and she's like "what are you gonna do? You can't not have a car?" It's so funny and so terrible how cars are such a necessity in LA. And its times like these when it's really hard not having my family here! Cause i'm gonna feel so bad asking Leigh to pick me up once I drop off my car and then bring me back there once it's ready. She's all I have!

So after Ford I went over to Leigh's and Christina came over and we had a little tea party. It was sooooooooo wonderful to see Christina because I actually hadn't seen her since Canadian thanksgiving! She's such a vibrant and entertaining and beautiful person and is just so fun to be around. And she definitely has the coolest accent in the world.

After the tea party I came home, made plans with Jordan to go to Dave's so he could help me with my homework, plans which we later moved to tomorrow since he ended up having to go to a meeting.

Black Beauty needs a new tranny! I have shin splints!

May 9

Happy Mother's Day Mom! Wish it was 2 years ago and we were dining at Valley Oak...

Before I start, just wanna say that you should read Neon Angel by Cherie Currie. (Dakota Fanning's character in The Runaways). It's crazyintensejuicyunbelievableinsaneawesome.

Today was wonderful. I woke up at 7:30 and was at Leigh's by 8:30 to hike. It was cold and gloomy and overcast and the coziest hike EVER. ... As cozy as hiking can be in lulus and a sports bra (which i was actually able to get on with my elbow)! Things are totally looking up elbow-wise. So yeah, it was so great to hike again, but since I hadn't done it in two months, my body wasn't seasoned to hiking conditions! At the end of the two hours my hip was popping like a mofo, my foot fracture was aching and I had a sweet blister on one of my toes. The elbow however was great! (Great until I try to move it).

After our delicious hike we went back to Leigh's to stretch and all i wanted to do was cuddle up on her couch because her place is the coziest little cottage ever. I wanna say its cozier than valley oak! But I had things to do so cuddling up wasn't an option. Went to Real Raw Live and got a Super Maca drink (with blueberries and cinnamon) and to Gelsons cause Leigh gave me the heads up that Voss was on sale. Went home to shower and then went to Dry Bar to get my hair blowdried.

As Brooklyn (who looked weirdly similar to me) was washing my hair, it came up that I was from toronto, and then she told me that she was from toronto! Small world. She met a guy while she was vacationing here a few years ago, they fell in love and got married in March (which is when she moved out here), and was telling me that she doesn't have many friends and that her husband travels all the tiem for work (race car driver) so we're totally gonna hang out. We gossiped about Toronto, talked about proper pronunciation of pasta and process and project and about how weird it is that everyone here stares at everyone else when they're walking down the street. Oh, another amazing part of today's blow dry experience were these cupcake things. Picture this: the moistest cake you've ever tasted, smushed in a ball, dipped in chocolate and put on a stick. They were so cute and so delicious and so free and it was just so cute! After bidding farewell to Brooklyn and exchanging info I left to meet Leigh at HD Buttercup, cause they were having a sale and I still don't have a couch and she needs an end table.

Leigh couldn't remember where she parked her car so I had time to kill so I went to Hot Rod. Entertained Kyle and Bernard and the new guy (Johnnie?) with stories and laughter, they tried to sticker my splint but it wouldn't stick, and then I left to meet Leigh. Bernard always calls me sweetie. It's the cutest.

HD Buttercup is the most wonderful furniture store ever. Unfortunately they had no really cool chaises. I know i should be getting a couch, but i really really just want a wickedcool chaise. Leigh didnt have any luck with her table either. But I had pretty hair and she had a pretty outfit and it was so much fun to walk around and dream about furniture for our future houses. Yay fairytales!

Went home and got ready for dinner with Raph. I was feeling like an adventure, but couldnt really think of one, so I decided that we should just go to Pace in Laurel Canyon because its been #1 on my list of LA things to do for quite some time now. #2 is to do the malibu hike with waterfalls that roger was telling us about last year that we didnt believe was true, but then taylor told me that it was true, so now i've gotta do it.

Dinner was AMAZING. It's my fave restaurant. We both had amazing pasta, unfortunately there were no Teri Hatcher sightings. AFter dinner in true Chris & Raph fashion we hit up pinkberry, but the studio city pinkberry because raph had never been to studio city. I totally should've saved my "I like the way you top" comment for this one (see last weekends blog entry... at least i think i wrote about that comment). It was the most toppings i've ever experienced in pinkberry history! It was great.

Ended the evening nicely with a little dose of DH. Crazy episode! So sad it's the finale next week!

There are roses on my nightstand and they're all losing their petals. Seriously dropping off in chunks. I think they have flower leprosy.

Love you Momsie!!! xo

May 8

I'm exhausted. The sun has drained me of all energy. Had a boring morning of doing homework until William picked me up and brought me to a pool party at the Palazzo. Unfortunately it was at Palazzo East so there were no fond memories, and no Leigh and Robyn. Palazzo East is SUCH a scene. It was digusting. Fake boobs, heels, curled hair and full makeup girls everywhere. Girls that wear lots of makeup and curl their hair and wear heels to go sit by a pool make me crazy. Or maybe i'm just envious that they have the energy to do all that... nah. It's just silly. I like my mermaid hair. And i'm actually loving the fact that I can't put on makeup (can't bend my elbow to reach my face and i definitely can't do it left handed), because not wearing makeup is just so refreshing! But back to the pool party. There were free margaritas and beer, I chilled out with my Voss, but I did help one-handed William carry around his drinks. I spent the majority of the afternoon soaking up rays - took off my splint! (which made flipping and raising/lowering my chair extremely difficult) - and made two friends! We bonded over not being into the scene-y-ness off the place and being older than 25. And they told me to come back next weekend.

William and I then went to Rite Aid so he could get the black bandage and pimp out his wound like mine. I noticed a button on his dashboard that said "CLR" ... unfortunately Leigh and Robyn didn't appear when I pressed it. Came home, got Kiyono sushi for dinner, and ate it while watching Eloise at the Plaza. It was so cute! And the whole time I was thinking of Caleigh doing the Eloise pose at the Plaza, and it made me REALLLLLLY wanna go for high tea somewhere. Anyone wanna go for high tea?

It's 10. I'm exhausted. And i'm going to sleep cause i'm actually gonna attempt to do the hike with Leigh tomorrow! ...Probably in a bikini top since there's no way I can get a lulu bra on! So pumped. Praying that my foot stress fracture won't make a re-appearance!

Bang bang, I shot you down.

May 7

Totally just parallel parked my car into a very tight spot. Even one-armed, i'm still the king of parallel parking! Beat that Sean Briggs!

Today was lovely. Spent the morning doing homework. Met William at Native Foods in Westwood for a one-armed lunch (he broke his hand playing basketball and had surgery yesterday) and it was so much fun! We ordered way too much food and then walked around Westwood, he showed me the CUTEST little coffee shop with a little courtyard. Totally gonna log some hours there doing autocad!

Went to Planet Blue cause I needed to buy shirts. Since I can't bend my elbow, it's very difficult to get into anything that isn't a lose tank. I saw me & Leigh's girl crush... wearing the coolest outfit with the messiest, rattiest most disgusting hair ever but obvi it looked amazing on her.

Then I felt as though I should go to Fred Segal. Cause if L&R were here, that's what we would have done, and the smell of fresh Free City is just soooooo CLR. So I went, took a good whiff of the Free City, and then headed over to the Apothia section because I remembered another wonderful May smell: Child perfume.

I read somewhere that Child perfume will make boys chase you down the street and fall in love with you. So last year I went in and tested-er our but was kinda repulsed. Came home and made Leigh smell it and she didn't like it either... but by this time it was starting to grow on me, but I never got it cause it's 100 bucks and I probably got a hoodie instead. Actually probably just tshirts. May 2009 was tshirts, May 2008 was purple items, May 2007 was hoodies... it was redic. Anyways, so I once again tried out the perfume and fell in love. It's not the type of smell that you want emanating from you because it's pretty flowery and intense, but its wonderful to get random whiffs of. As far as boys chasing you down the sidewalk goes, I dont buy it. I don't see boys liking flowery scents. Although apparently John Mayer is a fan. Too bad i'm not a fan of his. But sidewalks or not, it made me feel wonderful and brought back cute memories of May 09 cuddles.

After Freddys I went to Leigh's for Pizza/Movie night. We sat around on the white couches like the good old days and did homework, then went for a walk down to The Daily Planet to get a cool Mothers Day card (sorry mom, they had nothing cool enough for you), and fat burning lemonade for Leigh. Came back, Tony, Julia and Jess came over and we sat around and talked about things like whether or not The Bachelor gives you a clothing allowance while Tony made us pizza. Like, rolled out the dough and everything. We watched The Invention of Lying and we all fell asleep. I came home halfway through the movie.

Tomorrow is gonna be sooooooooo reminiscent of past Mays since William and I are going to hang by the pool at the Palazzo! Oh the memories... L&R - it's not too late to change your euro flights to LAX flights!

ROCK!

The term "ROCK" reminds me of Derek and NMA* days. Those were the days...

Anyways. May 6. Happy Hanson Day y'all. Oh Taylor Hanson... oh Justin Bieber...

I'm a badass mother f-er. I'm showing my splint who's boss. I rolled into school today rocking my new BLACK splint since after scouring several drugstores I found those tensor/ace-like bandages that stick to themselves in BLACK! I was looking for hot pink not even realizing that black existed, but there they were, Beverly Hills CVS I love you. So yeah, black splint, black and grey outfit, oh and by the way, the splint fully looks like a cast now because the black bandage looks like black fibreglass. All the cool benefits of a cast without the brutality of having a cast! Sat down in computer graphics class and could actually use the mouse no problem! Class was redic as usual. He went around to all of us to check our homework (Derek - he loved the NMA logo. I used it for a layout I had to do for an ad agency), and then assigns us our midterm which is a choice of two things, one being much easier than the other. Weird.

Lunchtime. Popped by the apartment for some halibut and sweet potatoes leftover from the last BBQ at Valley Oak, and then booked it on over to Drybar in Brentwood to get my hair blown out. I love it there. The atmosphere is AMAZING, although the blowouts are nowhere NEAR as good as Kelly Pace @ Frederic Fekkai. But what do you expect when you're paying $35 compared to $80? I must go see Kelly soon... my ends are splitting and I miss her. So an hour later I emerged with fresh locks, and headed back to school for Dinner at Tiffany's. Taylor and Akela and Deeann and I all laughed about my arm, and millions of other things cause all there really is to do in a 6 hour class is laugh uncontrollably, we almost got all our autocad hwk done which is soooo amazing, and we started designing our offices in CAD which was also amazing cause i wouldn't have been able to draw anything. By the end of the class (after snack time, dinner time, and raisinette/cookie time) my elbow was driving me nuts! For some reason the mouse clicking was just making it go crazy and feeling like it needed to stretch so bad and I wanted to SCREAM! But instead of screaming I just stage whispered and laughed a lot with Akela.

After class I FINALLY got to meet the famous Teddy, and he seems just as amazing as Taylor makes him out to be. I'm obsessed with them.

So I made it through hell day with my splint and it wasn't even that bad! I'm kinda surprised that my teachers seriously have no sympathy though... like, they laugh about it and that's it. I thought that they'd at least be concerned about me being able to do my work... but I guess they just realize it's me, and obvi i'm gonna be able to do my work.

ROCK!

Sidenote: someone backed into Jordan's M3 at Dave's. Venice is proving to be a very dangerous place!

Oh, I forgot to write about yesterday:

May 5

HBD COURTNEY! Happy Cinco de Mayo? Homework. Textiles class. Jen thought I was hilarious for saying "AMAAAAAAZING!" seven million times and talking in a pterodactyl voice and getting way too excited about textile yarns. Monofilament! Multifilament! Staple! We wrote our exam (I got a B... i'm slipping) and then had an hour long break which Jen, Christine and I spent in the cafe doing Jen's homework, talking about The Hills, talking about crushes, and eating coconut M&Ms because they magically had them at school! Dinner was my usual Wednesday Night La Scala Chicken Chopped Salad, and en route decided to listen to a little Miley on my ipod and re-fell in love with the Breakout cd. I've turned into the BIGGEST sucker for Miley and T Swift right now... dancing with no music playing... kissing in the rain... Stayed up til 1:00 doing homework ... left handed sketching takes way longer than right handed sketching!

I want to live life like a Miley Cyrus song...

I remember when we kissed
I still feel it on my lips
That time that you danced with me
With no music playing

One of my favorite compliments ever was when Rosemary Dale said Ally from The Notebook reminded her of me.

Hack Job

All is well in the world again, I can type with two fingers! (Although it hurts... especially the delete key). Went to the Orthopedic surgeon today and he said the same thing as the other doctor - radial head fracture. I asked him to cut the bottom of the split off so I could actually move my wrist, which he did, and it's LIFE CHANGING! There are still many many things I can't do (like putting my hair in a ponytail or doing anything that requires using pressure or eating with that hand), but being able to lift light things, type, even WRITE (with ink pens very messily with my arm at an odd angle) is so so so so amazing! I have to go back in a week and he said that I might be able to downgrade to a flexible brace which would be sooo amazing! Even with the one i have now, he wants me to take it off 3 times a day to start trying to move my elbow so it doesnt stiffen up. This kills.

After my appointment I hit up CVS in an attempt to get the pink sticky tensor (I found out Tensor is a Canadian brand - they're called Ace bandages here) stuff, but they didnt have any. I'll have to settle for my white "ace" bandage. Went home, my splint was digging in to my wrist and still restricting movement, so i took it off, pulled out my trusty wire cutters and started left handedly hacking away. It's soooo much better now. Did my online course homework, went to Valley Oak for perhaps the last time, and Leigh bbq-ed me dinner since i still can't do things like peeling sweet potatos, or cutting broccoli. At the time I couldnt cut my food yet but i think i'd be able to do that now!

Came home, tried to write, realized i kind of could, was sooooo happy! Spent a lovely evening with my friends from 90210. It was a good day.

Helpless & Incompetent

Today was terrible. Didnt sleep well, woke up feeling horribly nauseous which continued all day. i dragged myself to go see Dawn, mostly because I found out there was a $35 blowdry bar near her office. too bad i couldnt even enjoy my blowdry cause i was trying so hard to prevent myself from throwing up all over myself. but i did meet a wonderful woman with a broken wrist in the chair beside me. "you poor thing, you have it so much worse than me, you cant even bend your elbow"! We bonded over not being able to wear makeup or jeans. She warned me against painkillers, said she tried 5 and they all made her violently ill. this reminded me of how terrible tylenol 3s made me feel after my wisdom teeth. decded to stick w advil.

I went straight home with my kick ass hair and spent the day in bed bc the nausea wouldnt quit and then for some reason my back started KILLING me. I did some internet research and realized the advil was making me sick, it was all i had so i couldnt even take anything for the pain cause i was too sick to get out of bed. i need tylenol :( i forced myself to eat a banana (which was banana mush by the time i got it unpeeled), half an apple and drank living fuel for dinner. Tried to watch zombieland, fell asleep halfway through. former flame called and told me i was an idiot for skating in flipflops. how sweet. booked my appt w the orthopedic dr for tmrw, slept through gossip girl. at least i was able to sleep! nausea is finaaaly gone but my back is killing me way more than my elbow. i wanna go home. and i have a 3 pg paper due tmrw at midnight. typing this blog entry took 36 mins... what am i gonna do...

May 2

Typing one handed blows. Woke up, my elbow killed, was so swollen and so were my fingers. Called the insurance company who told me to go to an urgent care centre. They gave me a list but the only one that was open on Sun was one in Playa Vista, so I difficultly threw clothes on, fashioned a makeshift sling outta my skull scarf, tried to disguise my oil slick hair with a headband and headed back to Daves (Leigh is amazing and offered to take me). So we get to the urgent care place and it was so cute and i was the only one there and i only had to pay 25 bones thanks to my insurance and it was really quite a nice experience (minus the xray part where i had to contort my body all crazy in order to get my arm in the right position and the part when i was getting it wrapped:
"you must have a really high pain threshold, people usually start screaming right about now"
"im screaming on the inside"
"feel free to tell me to fuck off"

So an hour, a fractured radius bone at the elbow, one hand to armpit splint and a 6-12 week recovery prediction later, we met dave at the coffee bean across the street, and returned matt rosen's car (thats another story). oh by the way, leigh was a lifesaver for filling out my medical forms for me! My childhood hours spent trying to be left handed are actually gonna be worth something now! So we drive to pick up a table and chairs for daves place and then head to valley oak in separate cars. And this is when it hit me. Driving along Venice blvd, listening to Fearless by TSwift, i started thinking about all the things i wont be able to do and the tears started flowing. Feeling incompetent is the worst feeling in the world.

Stuff I Can't Do:
-Schoolwork
-Surfing
-Working out at all basically
-Wash my hair
-Put on makeup
-Cook
-Wash dishes
-Cut food
-Clean my apartment
-Put on a bra (thank goodness i have over 30 bikinis)
-Floss my teeth (although i did get those floss stick things but they dont work for my built in retainer
-Hang my picture frames
-Finish the painting i just started
-paint my nails etc etc etc...
Not bending your elbow REALLY sucks.

We had a little party at valley oak with appearances by colin, rony, jess, & julia, we ate pizza, sang loudly to my chemical romance and nancy sinatra and packed up the remains.

The dr asked me if i wanted painkillers, i said no because at the time it wasnt too bad, but now its bad and so uncomfortable and swollen and tightly wrapped and i just want it to be over :(

bright side: i didnt break both arms, im already moved into my apartment, i dont need surgery and i get to go to the hairdresser for blowouts.

But like really? My foot and now this?

WTF.

April 30

Hilarious/Awesome Day.

Went to GST class at 10 and was terrified to hear that Myara was sick and Anna was teaching the class. She's the woman that invented GST so she's obviously soooo hardcore! We started doing the class but then she has us "go back to basics" and me and the other girl who was there lie over these rounded box things and she starts digging her thumbs and elbows into our pelvises and lower abs and made us direct our first core tile to wherever she was pressing. It was sooooooo painful. But she told me a way that I have to stand in order to for my legs to be less muscle-y, and told me that the reason my abs look ugly is cause they're strong in all the wrong places and that my famous ab routine is basically the devil. Crazy. My first core tile was a pile of painful mush at the end of it but it was such an enlightening hour!

After GST I went to Valley Oak and tanned in the wonderful wonderful backyard until it was time to go to Ben's to get my oil changed. All the flowers were in bloom and it just smelled so lovely and it's so sad that we have to leave!! Got my oil changed at Ben's, his dad asked if I was there for "pasta" in a Canadian accent. Bad news: there's something wrong with my transmission. A slight leak and something else with things on the side of it that I didn't really pay attention to. Which means i've gotta take it into ford this week. I hate car servicing! But there was good news as well ... while I was waiting for the car I got an email from The Bachelor saying they had received an application on my behalf and want me to fill out a supplementary application and send in 15 pictures!!!!! Is this for real??!!!

Next stop, beloved Studio City! I missed Jordan so I decided to go hang out with him at his studio. His studio is the coziest thing ever and there's candy. It's amazing. So for 5 hours he edited a rap video while I did my autocad homework. Todd came by and we took a California Pizza Kitchen break, drank lots of cherry limeade and laughed a lot. It was a fabulous night in the valley!
