Tuesday

My schedule is crazy. Too many people to see, too many things to do, it's so hard to fit it all in! Today's highlights were: Jean Charles Salon & Village Chill with Caleigh.

Went to training with Rui in the morning. He definitely re-broke my elbow trying to get me to do pushups. I did one and keeled over in elbow agony. Fake elbow agony. it didnt actually re-break, i just have zero ability to put any weight on it at all. He says I need to get accupuncture and massages. And says I need my own reality show. I really really do. It would be a pretty entertaining show.

I'm officially losing my hair. All i've ever been told by hairdressers is that my hair is sooooooo thick and I have enough for two heads of hair, but today was the second time that a hairdresser has referred to my hair as "thin"! Traumatizing! So I went to Jean Charles Salon and Raph's mom heather (who is the COOLEST) lightened up the bottom of my hair. No more weird faded black! And then Jean Charles diffused it and it was CURLY. Like full out ringlet hair. I had NO idea my hair could do that. (Although it makes sense because when i was really little and had short hair it was ringlet curly). Oh how I love the versatility of my hair! And now when I go back to LA i'm gonna go to Rachel Bilson's colorist and do the "ombre" woke-up-in-a-dumpster-homeless-mermaid locks. And maybe, just maybe, if i can work up the guts to get a trim, i'll go see Kelly. Cause it's been FAR too long since i've seen her (and had a haircut).

Made din for the fam and then my lovely hair smelled like barbecue.

Went for fakeberry with Caleigh at Village Chill. It's not a bad imitation, it just lacks a bit of punch. And lacks mochi topping! We then went back to her & Steves and watched pvr-ed episodes (Canadians say PVR instead of DVR - personal vs digital) of Kristen Stewart on various talkshows. Most awkward interviewee EVER.

Wednesday

Tick tock tick tock... Christine is limited edition once again. Less than a week left. CRAZY how the time flies. People keep asking me if i'm looking forward to going back, and yeah i am, but it's been sooooooo wonderful being home and just having fun-filled days with no homework or work EVERY DAY! And having a fridge and cupboards full of food. And gas cards. And the cottage. And long lost loves! And every time i pack up another pile of books to bring back to LA with me, it just makes me sooooooo sad thinking that those books will probably never be on my Toronto bookshelves ever again!

My "orthostatic hypotension" is back with a vengeance. Prior to today I didn't know the name for my condition, but Michael Rooke was kind enough to discover it for me on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orthostatic_hypotension. I just always referred to it as my blindness (I go blind when i stand up until I bend over and the blood goes back to my head). It always happens at this time of year, every year I tell Dr. Richardson (my nephrologist) about it, every year he says its from low blood pressure and dehydration and the solution is to stand up more slowly. I always choose to ignore this recommendation. I'm a fast-paced girl, I run around like a chicken with my head cut off, I do sudden pivots (right Pip?), I bump into things. My legs are always bruised. I just don't have the time to stand up slowly! I'm not geriatric!

Who remembers when I fainted in Dr. Moses' physics class and Matty B carried me down to the student council office couch? Good times!

But back to today. It was a wonderful day! Went for high tea with mom & Aunt Marcella because it's my favorite thing to do in Toronto. Actually, it was 1:00 tea so I guess it was technically low tea. But whatever. It was glorious as usual. No room will ever be as cool as that darkdarkdarkpurple room. We were there for THREE AND A HALF hours! I was surprised they didn't kick us out, they usually do at 3:30 cause that's when the high tea sitting starts, but it wasn't busy so they didn't tell us to leave. It was also wonderful cause we got my favorite table (southeast corner) and the waiter (it's always the same guy) knows me now! We discussed wonderful things like scoundrel uncles, elves, trolls, hauntingly beautiful twins, Nana's amazingness and hilarity, and the tv show that was filmed at my school that i didn't even know was airing ("Design School") ... i think it might only be shown on Canadian HGTV... too bad I started a quarter too late to audition for it :( After tea we strolled around the hotel envisioning my future wedding. Cause even if I marry an American, I'm dragging him to Toronto to marry me. U of T Trinity Chapel ceremony (all white marble, so beautiful) followed by a Windsor Arms Reception. On a Friday night, in the late fall or winter. I want gloominess. I wanna wear fur. Anywayssss... enough of scaring off any potential husbands...

We got home and it was basically time to go to spinning. It was sad saying bye to Joy, she should probably move to LA and work at the Sports Club!

Came home and had the most wonderful conversation with Leigh! Actually it wasn't wonderful in the slightest. She got ZERO recognition at the Thirst Project Gala last night and I think it's disgusting. She seriously worked her ass off for months and months, and even when everyone (me included) were telling her to give up because it wasn't gonna happen, she still kept on working cause she didn't wanna disappoint the team. She should've been the star of the night. BUT it was really great to talk to her again and it made me realize that i'm ready to go back. It's been so amazing and so fun and so relaxing and just so grounding to be living my Toronto life again, but i'm ready to go back. Gotta move forward in my LA life. Wonderful things and wonderful people are waiting for me back there! I'm really really excited for what July has in store.

Friday

Goodbye RockstarIII. You served me well. I hope whoever stole you enjoys your tunes as much as I did.

Apparently I left the doors of the car open all night and someone snatched my ipod right outta the center console! I searched and searched the car, my purses, and hoodie pockets to no avail. A phonecall to Ryan proved fruitless as well. My mom told me to go buy a new one, so I decided that instead of buying a new ipod and new blackberry, i should just bite the bbm bullet and fiiiiiiinally get an iphone. But for now, I was on the way to the cottage. Armed with only my nano (which was half charged, and the car doesn't support charging the nano for some reason) and two cds "summerlicious" (circa 2007) and "ChristinesChristmasCarCd" (which was half christmas songs) because my laptop burner isn't working again, I headed out on the open road up to the cottage.

Two hours later I get there, and I don't have the key. Damn you full moon eclipse bringing thievery and general badness! So I went to the Foz's, cause their door is always open. Bowser was quite happy to see me and lounged at the foot of my chaise lounge all day long. At 2:00 I left to go pick up Andrea and Alex at school with a pitstop at the grocery store to get water (water is amazingly cheap in the country. 1.5 L evian for 89 cents)! And who did I run into but former flame, Darcy Holland. He was still as beautiful as he was 5 years ago. I wanted to make out with him (in a lime green pickup truck). So we chatted, and then I headed out to pick up the girls at school. I realized I would be mucho early for the girls so i stopped at the side of the road, picked a bunch of daisies and made them into a daisy crown. (I felt like I would've been a pretty picture... picking flowers at the side of a country road). And what better to do with a daisy crown than to bring it to MFA. So I did.

Picked up the girls from school, went home and had an afterschool snack, and then I took them to Sandy Beach. It was hilarious because there were all these highschool kids hanging out and andrea was like "chrissie, they're staring at you! blow them a kiss!" But I figured I better not since i'm sure they thought the girls were my kids... we were in the country after all. And then after our swim they were trying to talk to me, and it was pretty funny. So we went back home, realized we'd locked ourselves out of the house (sidenote, by this time i had found the cottage key so i wasn't locked out of there anymore). So I dressed them up in my hoodies so we could go to the candy store.

When we got home from the candy store uncle steve was back, and making us hamburgers (which were actually the best hamburgers i'd EVER had)! After dinner we went to pick laura up from her graduation party, i realized that Darcy's little brother is in her class (weird coincidence) and then we went for ice cream. Obvi i was dying for kawartha dairy but i didnt know of any places that sold it that were open after 8. HOWEVER Laura said there was a kawartha dairy STORE in peterborough. I DIED. So we went there, I got the famous Wolf Paws (my fave) AND creme brulee. It was amazing. Went back to their house, gossiped in Laura's room and then I got a call from Tim saying that the boathouse was "hoppin'" and that i should come by. So i did.

I've never laughed so much at a bonfire. It was Tim, Beau, Tyler and Steve and the whole time Tim, Beau and I were reminiscing, ripping on Jeff Lang and Mark Potter while Steve tried to defend them.

Re: Ryan and Beau leaving 40 messages on the Lang's answering machine in 1999.
Me - If it was any other parents they just would've laughed!
Steve - it's a little different when you're waiting for a call about your dad in the hospital.
Beau - It couldn't have been that important if they weren't answering the phone!
Tim - Yeah i heard they actually missed the funeral listening to the 40 messages.

Other mems:
-Beau wearing cataract glasses and pretending to be blind at breakfast. Then driving 20 down the highway causing the hugest line of cars behind us.
-Barricading Maxine's driveway with pylons and her asking mark potter if there was construction she didnt know about.
-Changing the speed limit signs from 20 to 80.
-Tim peeing in the clean laundry hamper.
-Tim & Andrew's several-days-long bender/AndrewBonanza of 2005 and them drinking vodka and milk because i wouldnt go buy them mix.
-Beau's Terry Jerry phonecalls.
-Me getting Darcy's truck stuck in the holmes driveway, and minutes after it getting un-stuck Nicholas getting his car stuck.
-Buzzing the Potter dock.
-Flashing highbeams and blasting the Venga Bus in the Lang's driveway.
-Getting yelled at by Jeff Lang for underage driving, driving too fast on the road, underage drinking, and for staying up til midnight on new years.

And like every summer, Beau professed his love for me. Unlike past years the declaration did not involve pushing me out of a car while i was driving, or him demanding to get out of my car and walking drunkenly along the highway until Tim made him get back inside. Like every summer, I told him I wasn't interested.

Saturday

Went home at 2. Woke up at 8 to rain. Went to the berry farm to buy strawberries and decided to just go home since the sailing we had planned for today obvi wasn't gonna happen. Spent the rest of the day reading and watching the Great Gatsby and Peyton Place, and went for dinner with the fam. Oh, and I tarred and feathered a bunch of idiot G20 protestors because I hate them.

It was in the fall that I decided not to use any color until I couldn't get along without it and I believe it was June until I needed blue.

Sunday

Rain finally comes. I want it to rain hard. I walk until I am drenched, until there is a feeling in me that is clear, shining like the street.

Today was amazing. It involved reading. A workout class. More reading. And rainnnnn. Fabulous crazy thunder and lightning rain. I sat on the couch in the living room staring out at the rain pouring down, reading until I felt possessed to write. The book i'm reading now makes me want to finish my book so badly. There are so many brilliant lines and I wanna write brilliant lines. I will. Then Berkley and I frolicked in the rain while dad barbecued brisket for 4 hours. (Which I normally don't like but i've been really into red meat lately, perhaps my iron is low, perhaps it's because i never eat it in LA cause I don't have a barbecue). We ate a delicious dinner. Made frozen yogurt. Read.

Monday

Best spinning class EVER. Went to some new girl's class and it was awesome. Then went to the doctor and made a stop at Boardsports. Weatherall and Jeff are the sole remaining survivors of our crew (even though Jeff definitely was much later than the original crew). But Mike's leaving next week because he's the new Salomon/Bonfire (and two other brands that i forget) rep!!! I told him he has to hook me up with prodeal card this winter. My two fave snowboard companies! AS IF!

Went home, drove up to see Lillian for an astrological reading. But before I go into that, i'd just like to say a big thank you to the ipod gods. I turned from radio to cd (and for some reason the ipod connects to the cd output) and out of the speakers comes the sweet sweet sounds of JB! Bieberrrrrr! I looked in the center console and there she is, RockstarIII in all her shiny black glory! Guess I'm just destined to be a blackberry user forever! Ok back to Lilian news. A summer romance with a Leo is in my near future. Funny... i'm pretty sure my lover is a Leo and he's coming to visit in July... I'm also supposed to be an architect, not an interior designer and i'm gonna get a job in LA no prob. Oh and i'm crazy and incredibly intense and live in a dream world but I have a maturity and practicality that makes all those qualities okay. In the past when i was called crazy I loved it, cause it was always a good crazy that people enjoyed being around. But then when a certain boy started calling me crazy I took offence. But whatever! I AM crazy, but it's a wonderful and entertaining and endearing crazy that i'll never change! Reading The Anthropologie of an American Girl has made me love my craziness, because Eveline is legit crazy, and i totally identify with some of her craziness, but she just takes it to a whole new level. READ IT!

Mom's highschool friends (and my aunt) came for dinner since Daddykins is at a golf tournament. I hope he wins me something good! It was hilarious hearing them talking about old teachers (who i could talk about as well because I had the same ones) and about the parents of the boy heartthrobs when I was at Lawrence. I was like "I'm listening to you guys sit here and talk about Mr. Jones and Chris ________ and i'm fully gonna be sitting around talking about Mr Jones and Tim _________ (Chris' son) with my friends when we're your age!" And then it made me really sad about moving to LA - I wont just run into highschool randoms on the street! I'll be living in a city in which i have no school history. My kids' teachers won't be able to bring in yearbook pictures of their parents or wont be able to tell them stories of their parents making out in highschool hallways. Cause that's what happened to me. Although I'm not marrying my highschool sweetheart so the whole making out story would never happen anyways. I don't like it. I don't like it one bit.

There's just something so wonderful about having a history...

On To the Next One

Tuesday

9 am training. RR kicked my ass as usual. He spent most of the time laughing at my antics, I asked him if i was his most entertaining client, his response: by far. Then mom and I went to Marcella's for lunch cause Jeff and the girls were there. They're hauntingly beautiful. White blonde hair, huge blue eyes, and reverse identical twins (ones hair parts on the left & is left handed, the other on the right). They'd be so perfect for a Virgin Suicides-esque movie when they grow up. The afternoon was filled with storminess so I cuddled up and read, and Ry and I had some more music lessons (me teaching him Brick by Ben Folds Five on piano).

Wednesday

Went with Mom to Raph's parents salon. They're SO cool. Talked to his mom about given me I-woke-up-in-a-dumpster-homeless-mermaid-chic hair ... aka "ombre." My mom says it'll look like trash. Raph's mom says it will look really cool. And best news of the day "don't cut your hair. I love it." Phew! I was sooooo scared I'd go in there and they'd be like "your hair hasn't been cut since january. It's disgusting." ... Maybe his dad thought that and just didn't say anything...

Came home, felt an earthquake, went over to the Pascaris' to make use of their backyard facilities (pool & chaise lounge). I called but no one answered so I just went right to the backyard and then I see Cakes in the window watching tv. So we had a nice little chat. He said he was gonna come out and swim but never showed. When i was tired of tanning i drove him to the subway so he could go register for school and we talked about wonderful things that didn't involve the office for a change!

Spinning with Joy was wonderful as usual, and even more wonderful because of a cameo by Courtney Clark! (Not in the actual class but afterwards "i thought i saw long brown hair..."). I broke the news that I wouldn't be attending the club's "Young Professionals" croquet match the following day, cause i was going to the cottage... and because i'm neither "young" nor "professional."

Went home, picked up my guitar from getting restrung, and then made plans to see Suzy! So I headed down to the Beaches to her new place! There was all this talk of a huge storm with tornados and hail and "dangerous winds" so i was so pumped ... but so far nothing. Got to her place. It's absolutely amazing. The coziest thing ever with the nicest old wood floors and is set back from the street so far and has a great porch ... "this would be so amazing for tan- "... as i look up and notice that the backyard is completely covered by a canopy of trees! We laughed. She said she just goes to the beach to tan. Makes sense. So we walked to the little restaurant at the corner of her street and had the BEST gossip/catch up session in FOREVER.
Since it had been FOREVER since we'd seen each other. Since 2008??? Oh no wait, we saw each other for about 5 mins in Whistler in 09. But that doesn't count. So yeah, reminisced about Lambert's amazingness and hilarity (especially when ripping on Kyle), and about all the girls and Forrest and Pip and it was just so much fun! I love her! She's the most laid back but still in touch with reality person in the whole world. She drives a yellow jeep. She has my fave tattoo ever (silhouette of birds on her arm). She always has the best facebook display pictures. She has the greatest laugh in the world. She's the real-life mermaid that I long to be.

Today was a great day.

Thursday

I was in a miserable mood this morning. Apparently I slept through some crazy thunder & lightning storm (I NEVER sleep through storms... this narcolepsy thing is really starting to get on my nerves. Jon says my sleeping in til 4 on the weekend was "borderline degenerate behaviour"). Wake up and its still raining so no cottage for me today. I wanted to drag myself to the club for a spinning class but couldnt do it. And Miriam was coming over so i wanted to hang around to see if any gems of psychic wisdom would benefit me. The only gem, which is definitely fools gold or maybe something more like carbon, is that my life is gonna be very "flat" for a while. Awesome. I love having nothing to look forward too. BUT I'd much rather have flatness than a fall-style downward spiral. So maybe "carbon" isn't so bad. Black is my fave color after all.

Speaking of black, the search for black curtains is over! I finally found some today. Nightmare on Elm Dr., get ready for new curtains!

Oh, crashed the Dads' lunch with Jon & Ry today. We forced them to go for sushi. It was great. My fave waiter asked where i'd been and still remembered my "usual" (salad, alaskan roll & salmon sashimi). Peter AND Dad got combo number 7. But unfortch this time peter didnt serenade us with his sushi rendition of combo number 5. L&R, you were missed!

Did some reading. Went to the club for some running and weights action. I'm FIIIIIINALLY getting my pre-broken-bone flexibility back which is nice. On my way home from the club saw Rosemary getting out of her car and she informed me that Reesy & Bud would be arriving any second for a ride to the airport for their England/Croatia trip. So I ran home, hopped in the shower, and ran back to the Dales where we ate sugar snap peas and had a lovely catch up sesh. I bid farewell to Reesy & Bud , scored a banana date muffin, and was on my way home for dinner.

Ryan pointed out a very disturbing internet snippet about my new friend TT. Apparently he beats up girlfriends. I might wanna re-think this whole HR video collaboration idea...

Mom & I had a movie night: Dear John. Meh. Nothing special. The book was sub-par so I wasn't expecting much, and I guess it was as good as I expected it would be.

Bedtime. Going to the cottage tomorrow. The days are winding down and there are still sooooo many people to see! But hopefully i'll take care of Laura, Andrea, Alex, Tim, Ann, Dee, Darcy & Little Wayne (who 4 summers later can't be so little anymore) this weekend, and next week Courtney, Rob, golfing with Mike??, Derek, Sarah, Bree, Maddie, and copious amounts of Tory & Caleigh & Leigh & Robyn. And then i'll be completely satisfied with my trip home. (As long as my astrologer can fit me in for a reading)!

Since I've Been Gone...

Do you always watch for the longest day of the year and then miss it? I always watch for the longest day of the year and then miss it. - Daisy Buchanan

Who doesn't love a corn-cob microphone?

Happy First Day of Summer! Home is grand. Tanning. Reading. Narcolepsy. Cottaging. Nancy Drew. Self-Titled Third Eye Blind Cd. Working Out. Frozen Yogurt. Blueberries. Love. Let me elaborate.

Saturday

Slept in until 10. Amazing. Went to Sharon's workout class with my mom and Wendy. Soooo nice to actually do resistance stuff again (after how many months of fractured bones)? Surprised Caleigh at her engagement party, behaved like a normal person and didn't pig out on cupcakes, was the cause of Cathy Campbell spilling her husband's red wine all over Nancy's upholstered chair "Barry, stop lecturing her about The Bachelor!" ... as she swats at his wine glass, spilling it all over the chair. It was soooo wonderful to come home and see everyone right away!

Sunday

Slept until 10:30... who am I?! Went on a 10 K run with Tory that only ended up being 6.5K. BBQ dinner. Rock On Lakers.

Monday

Slept until 10 again. Went to teach Kindergarten with Dianne and Tory. Saw the kids from two years ago, most didn't remember me. Had training with RR... he kicked my ass. Went to the driving range with Ry and Daddykins, i'm better than Ry. Was supposed to hang with Brunton but fell asleep watching the bachelorette instead.

Tuesday

10 am wakeup. Went for a pedicure with Miriam. Didn't even ask for any psychic info cause i'm kinda done with knowing what may or may not be in store. Got gold nails. Ran to the club. Spinning. Walked home. Walked back to the club for dinner with Caleigh. By this time I could barely move but she wanted to walk so we did. Had sub-par sonoma salads, came home and watched the Lakers. Was supposed to hang with brunton once again but he was shooting til 9:30 and I had to go to sleep early to get up early to golf with mike. Tried to talk him out of getting a dog.

Wednesday

Lovely rainy gloomy day. Tried to decide what to read, after rifling through my mom's bookshelves and coming up empty handed, i rifled through my own and settled on a good old Nancy Drew. The Clue in the Crumbling Wall. There's something about Nancy Drews that just make me so at ease and bring back the most wonderful childhood cottage memories. Went to Joy's spinning. She proclaimed that she doesnt even have to ask me how I am because she diligently follows me on facebook and this blog. It was nice to be back spinning at the club. Decided to hit up Chapters before it closed so i could get myself some cottage reads: Anthropology of an American Girl by Hilary Thayer Hamann and a light read by the gossip girl author.

Thursday

Cottage. Tanned the day away (literally, from 11 am til 6) while reading another Nancy Drew (there's nothing more summer nostalgic than reading a Nancy Drew on the dock while listening to the water lap against the rocks... except maybe while eating ketchup chips, wearing a bathrobe over my bathing suit). I have this really fond memory of being like 14, lying on chaise lounges on the dock on a gloomy day with Maddie who would've been 4 at the time, listening to the self title Third Eye Blind cd, eating ketchup chips, and cuddled up in a about 5 towels each. So I decided to resurrect that cd. In ipod form. It was such a summer '98 blast from the past... a summer filled with cases of spice girls gum (and stickers & tattoos), neon active strip bandaids, hospitals, and gloomy weather. Anyways... back to my lovely dock day. Tanned, swam, the water was FREEZING! When 5:00 rolled around I was soon joined by Alyssa and Beau and we lounged around some more until we decided to go for dinner. En route to The Old Mill we picked up Steve, and were forced to listen to dance music because South American has inspired Beau to stray from his love of classic rock in favor of dance music. W. T. F. ??? Had delicious dinner and then realized that i'd missed both the General Store AND Lockside for my KD fix. (Kawartha Dairy ice cream, not Kraft Dinner - and to all you americans, you apparently call Kraft Dinner "Kraft Macaroni and Cheese... makes sense). So I then announced that we HAD to go to the Burleigh Falls General Store because I couldn't visit the cottage without having KD. But it was closed. Next hope, boat into Buckhorn. We get in the Foz's boat, we have zero gas, but decide to risk it. Unfortch both marinas were closed and beau promised me that the buckhorn general store would be closed too. Why oh whyyyyy does everything in the country have to close at 8:00 or earlier?? But Alyssa and I were sure it would still be open so we drove in. And of course it was. And they had cherry. (My top five flavs are Wolf Paws, gold medal ribbon, cherry, moose tracks, and chocolate ripple). Amazing. We headed back to the Foz's for an INTENSE Lakers game! But I knew they would win so when Beau bet me 10 bucks I readily accepted. He should know better than to bet against me, cause I only bet when i know i'm gonna win.

Friday

Today was much like yesterday. Although it started with a workout. Ran the 3K from the Foz's to my place, lugged the Kayak outta the basement and down to the water (so heavy, so didn't know if i'd make it back up the hill)! and then yakked (kayaked) back to the foz's and back home, managed to get the kayak up the hill, and then ran back to the foz's where i tanned for the remainder of the day. Although I did make a brief jaunt over to Mike's place to check out the renovations. Headed out at 4:00 to make it home in time for dinner and in time to get ready for Ash's going away party.

Going away party was wonderful! I never knew I had so many fans! People love my facebook page & my blog. Glad I can entertain you! It was soooo nice to see faces that I hadn't seen in a WHILE (Rob, Andres, Dave, Jeff), and I remembered how much i LOOOOOVE Natasha (not to mention how much I love the entire unit).

Saturday

Okay, this narcolepsy business is serious. I slept in until 11:00, dragged my ass out of bed to eat breakfast, then went back up to bed to spend a gloomy day reading. Fell back to sleep after several pages and didn't wake up again until 4:00 PM!!!!!!!! Who am I, Ryan?? I then went to Pusateris in a haze to get dinner (3 whole red snappers) and felt equally as hazy while walking Berkley. I ran into Rosemary and Rob and don't even remember what we talked about (except for contemplating the jaundice-like appearance of my gold nailpolish). Dinner was badass.

Sunday

Happy Father's Day Daddykins!
Officially obsessed with Anthropology of an American Girl. Everyone (well, girls) HAS to read it.
Pip took me for a ride on his motorcycle. i was terrified, but it was soooooo fun! And then we walked to get frozen yogurt. I TOTALLY felt like Audrina on the back of the bike. And looked really cool in store window reflections. White shorts & converse.
Watched the MMVA's. I love Miley and JB and Drake.

Monday

Spinning. Tanning. Tea time. Reading.

June 10/11

June 10

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! Went to computer graphics class, had to present our boards with Brian. I volunteered us to go first since it's easiest to go first and it wassss. Breezy presentation, only one small critique, got out of class 2 hours early, AMAZING.

Went to The Loft next, cause I had to write my textiles exam there at 12. Studied for a solid two hours cause I had the extra time from getting out of computers early! And ate a pop tart! Because they provide snacks in the loft! I love it there. It's seriously on the 12th floor of this ghetto sweat shop building, but has such sweat shop charm! So after studying for 2 hours and knowing everything there was to know about Dying, Printing & Finishes, I finished the exam in 10 mins. Deborah told me to eat some Toronto chinese food in her honor.

Since I had time to kill, and was two blocks away from Babycakes, I decided to head over and check it out (and get cupcakes for a Dinner at Tiffany's Last Supper Cupcake Party). It was so cute! I got two red velvet and two brownie and took them back to school.

Dinner at Tiffany's was intense. We had our hour and 45 min autocad exam first, that i literally finished with a minute to spare. I need to pick up my autocad pace! Then it was presentation time. I went first, as usual and was soooo glad to get 'er done. Highlight #1: The asian girl who hasn't said ONE word all quarter busts out this insanely enthusiastic broken english presentation. The entire class was DYING. Highlight #2: The person who we'd been debating about whether it was a boy or a girl (at first i thought boy, then after working in a group with her i was certain she was a girl) turned out to be a boy! It's name was Ian! Intense. Got outta class an hour early and went home to pack.

Packed, dropped off a painting to Leigh for the Thirst Gala, picked up William from his friends place "do you know where fairfax is?" "Did you actually just ask me that? William, we lived together at the Palazzo!" and took him home to test out his garage to see if black beauty would fit. She would. Went home to sleep.

June 11
I had arranged to have this black one shoulder Jamison dress transferred from the Malibu Madison to the W 3rd Madison but unfortch it didnt happen. So instead of getting in one last hike with Leigh, I trekked up to Malibu. I was there by 10, had the dress in my possession by 10:20. Headed back towards home but then realized there was no point in going home and I decided just to go straight to Hot Rod. So I get there, I tell Cam how Hot Rod should have flowers from the flower shop next door, so he told me to go get some. There were SLIM pickings at the store, and Cam only wanted to spend 20 bucks so i got a sad bouquet of gerber daisies. Went back to the shop where i was told that I would be doing another video. Great. This one involved still shots as well. By the time everyone got their acts together and by the time i'd cut an LA tee into a tank, we had 8 mins to shoot the video before it was time to leave for the airport (Cam was driving me). Needless to say, the video was terrible! But it was funny. So videos done, we head out to Williams in the worst traffic ever, I get there, and there are two cars in an L shape blocking his garage. So i weasel my way between them, angling around a wooden post with literally millimeters to spare. I got halfway in and the idiot girl who had blocked the driveway on the road side runs over and is like "sorry!" Fucker. So then Cam gets there and tells me just to abandon ship and let William straightener out when the other blocking car moves. So I did, and hop into his car. Of course we get stuck behind a garbage truck and in terrible traffic on the 405, Cam is so worried i'm not gonna make my flight, but i was fine. I knew my guardian angel and spirit guide would get me there on time, and obvi, it worked out. Got to the baggage desk with 15 mins to spare! The rest of the airport process was a breeze and I had a leisurely flight home with no one sitting beside me!

Farewell for now LA. Miss ya already!

June 9

Woke up. Went to the gym.

Came home. Headed out to get Daddykins his Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS II USM Lens. Best father's day present EVER. And it was the last one at Samy's and was on hold for someone else who was supposed to pick it up yesterday so they gave it to meeeee!

Then went to The Grove to look for an outfit for a certain party. Found nothing. Went to Robertson to go to All Saints Spitalfields, tried on 5 BEAUTIFUL dresses, but they were all ill-fitting. Stupid euro clothes. Went to kitson, intermix and that crowded store and couldn't find anything, mostly cause I don't really know what i'm looking for cause i dont know how dressy everyone else is gonna be! Then made the best choice ever: News Room date smoothie but replaced the orange juice with rice milk and added cinnamon. It was like dessert!

Went home to drop off the lens and then went to class. I found out that Jen is in two of my classes next quarter which is "AMAAAAAAAAZING" cause i thought i was gonna have three classes with no friends. Now i just have one!

La Scala chopped salad dinner. William saved my life by saying that I can park black beauty at his apartment (otherwise i'd get a weekly ticket for not moving her for street cleaning)!

Now I must study for my textiles exam.

Sayonara.

June 8

Every day for the past 5 days a stranger has commented on how happy I am.
Today - the Xray technician at the elbow dr.
Yesterday - The international student advisor at school
Sunday - The waiter at lunch
Saturday - The host at dinner
Friday - Brice at Hot Rod

Leigh and I had a nice gloomy hike this morning. I went all the way to the top but she bailed at the peak cause she had to go to work. After my hike I hit up Real Raw Live for my super maca with blueberries, cinnamon and spirulina and who did i see... Amanda! She was there with her dog, and I sat down on the stool beside her and told her how cute she was at the MTV awards the other night and she's like "awww thanks! it was TERRIFYING!" and was going on and on about all the lights and the people. She's so cool! We drank ginger mango shots. And I sooo wanted to be like "my friend auditioned to be your best friend in Red Riding Hood!" but I didn't wanna be a total dork. I want to be her friend!

Went home, chilled out and read until my elbow doctor appointment. Dr. Colbert told me that my elbow's healing well, there's still a little chunk that needs to fill itself in, and i cant surf, golf, wakeboard, do yoga, lift weights, or basically anything with my arm for 4-6 more weeks! Blast!

Came home, had a nap (how luxurious to be able to have a nap without feeling guilty that i should be doing homework)! Had dinner. Watched the Laker game. That's about it.

June 7

Lesson of the Day: Always carry a book in your purse.

Today was filled with lots of waiting. My book came in handy. Waiting for Dawn, although she wasn't as late as she usually is! Waiting to get my Visa signed by the International guy at school ("you waited? Next time just interrupt my phone call!"), and then waiting FOREVER for a computer at the annex so I could print my Commercial Design Concepts project. Got it printed, and it was the most satisfying feeling EVER! I can't believe it's done! It was seriously the most daunting project ever on the first day of class (design, draft out and do specs for an ad agency according to a specific program), and I did it, and I did it well. Came home just in time for the arrival of my Lakers tee and then went to Fedex to get the project bound.

Former flame broke his elbow... in the exact same spot I did! Really weird.

Leigh and I went for dinner, to the Italian place on Franklin, and it wasn't very good. We were so proud of ourselves for trying something new, but ended up totally regretting not just hitting up old faithful Birds. And then we decided to walk to Pinkberry. It was a nice half hour walk, but when we walk in the door....... there's no Jordan!!! I was so upset. But then as i'm pondering my yogurt choice, guess who walks in! Jordan Steele! (I asked his last name so i could add him to facebook, but there were 500 jordan steeles and i have no idea which one is him).

I feel as light as a feather. It's the hugest relief in the world having all my work done, and having free time where homework isn't looming over my head!

Songs currently on repeat:

The National: Sorrow
Rich Hil: All of the Above

Venice Vacation Version 2.0

As if I had three crazy fun weekends back to back to back! Leigh and I had another Venice Vacation. Friday morning I went on a lovely hike to the Hollywood sign, got a green drink for lunch (my new fave: super maca with blueberries & cinnamon & spirulina). Went home, did my textiles final project then heard word from Leigh that the plans for our vacation were in the midst of getting foiled. She had to go to work and do Thirst Project stuff and Jess was sick and wouldn't be coming with us tonight and we couldn't get a reservation at the restaurant we wanted to go to for din. But whatever, sitting around on Daves roof doing nothing is still sooooo fun, so there was no way that the whole weekend was foiled.

Since I had time to kill, and since Jordan wanted me to get him some frogskin sunnies, I went to Hot Rod. It was the best Hot Rod day EVER! I stayed for like over two hours, got Big Chill frozen yogurt (red velvet, sooooo amazing!!!!), filmed their latest commercial for the new shoes that came in (with jokes about the south of France because as Cam had been showing Brice all his pics from his Eurotrip, i was making fun of him for him thinking Eurotrash girls were hot, and about how he kept saying 'hot chick, glass of vino."

After HR, i went home, packed up my stuff and headed down (or should I say "over," so Leigh and I stop confusing North and East), to Dave's. It was Venice First Fridays and both Allen and William had invited me to go with them, but Leigh and I were already going and had plans to find my hot aviator nation crush, so obvi we didn't want any boys around (unless of course it was Jordan, Todd, Nick or Ben). So we go to Aviator's party, saw this girl we knew and hung out with she and her friends for a bit, and then the texts from a certain dude start rolling in. Outrageously relentlessly. It was impossible to ignore them. So after we made friends with Paige, the owner, we headed over to the Brig. Dude was literally at the front of the line and let us cut in with him. But he was alone... I asked where his friends were and he pulls out his phone and types "gone" ... he had laryngitis and was talking via typing on his phone!!!!!!!!! So we go in, he continues to talk via typing, and then starts busting out outrageous dance moves when it was so so so so crowded! Like literal melbourne shuffle style... but with no actual skill. Talk about awkward. And then two guys start talking to Leigh and I and Dude literally peaces without even saying bye! We made small talk with various un-engaging boys until I received a text from Jordan saying they were outside. THANK GOD! So we ditched our free drinks and ran out to get in line with the boys and try and talk them out of going in cause it was so crowded, but Ben wanted to go in, so we went back in, literally couldnt move anywhere, and walked right back out... to the food trucks!!!!!!! The boys got Philly Cheesesteaks, the girls got Grilled Cheese Truck (mac and cheese and pulled pork grilled cheese!!!!!) It was INSANE. We gave the boys halves, I managed to squirt ketchup all over the toe of my shoe (but it was perfectly aimed on the rubber part of my converse so i was all good, and Jordan kindly got me napkins to wipe it off), and we ate our delicious food. I was sitting in between Jordan and Todd on this ledge when this hippie guy comes over and starts talking to me, telling me all about how he recently blew through all his money and doesn't have a job but he just wants to travel all over the world so he can't have a job anyways... and asks me for me for my number. "I'd prefer not to give it to you." Ballsy! For all he knew, Jordan or Todd could've been my boyfriend! Ew.

So then we all went back to Dave's (Dave by the way, went home for the weekend). We couldn't hang out upstairs because Mike was sleeping in the guest room, so we had a cuddlefest on Dave's bed until Leigh and I started falling asleep and the boys went home.

Woke up at 8. Didn't sleep as well as last time at Dave's! Leigh and i ate oatmeal, she went to work and I did homework. When she got back we went to Whole Foods for lunch, came home and were back to work until dinner time. We went to our new favorite restaurant. I think it was called Gjelina??? or something weird like that, but it was BEAUTIFUL (exposed brick and ductwork and very industrial chic) and everyone who worked there was soooo nice and wonderful! We had amazing pizza and the water convinced us to get butterscotch pudding for dessert (butterscotch pudding? so not something i would EVER get... so we got straw/rhubarb crumble too just in case), but the pudding was AMAZING!!! After dinner we're walking down Abbott Kinney, I'm talking to Jordan on the phone and before i know it we're being led into a bar by some boys that had started talking to Leigh. Leigh wanted to talk to this guy cause he was assistant director to some big movie (but i don't remember what) so of course I get stuck talking to his friend, who starts telling me how he has his own business that had something to do with video games... ughhh... and telling me that if Leigh and I wanted to get high they had some weed. Ew! So i was basically DYING, and was kind of freaked out by the shockingly dark circles around his entire eyes, but then we started talking about skateboarding and architecture and it was much better. We got outta there as soon as possible, went home and went to sleep.

Woke up this morning, ate oatmeal, basically finished all my projects (!!!!!!!) while Leigh was at work, and managed to log two hours of tanning! Although it wasn't really tanning because as we all know, the sun never shines in Venice. Literally. It can be the hottest brightest sunniest day EVER east of the 405, but as soon as you go west, the haze rolls in. But i love haze in LA so it doesnt bother me too much. When Leigh returned home from work, we headed out on "the open road" on our beach cruisers. FYI the open road is the marina del ray bike path that leads directly to pinkberry. Although we didn't go to pinkberry, we got salads for lunch instead from Mendocino something. The whole afternoon I felt like I was floating around in a haze, because of the haze, and also because i was so tired. We went home and decided to just go home. It felt sooooo much like a sunday afternoon at the cottage, that horrible feeling of having to pack up and go back to the city. So we packed up and went back to the city, but not before snatching some music from Dave's computer (Band of Horses, Ray LeMontagne & Rich Hil).

We had plans of visiting Pinkberry Jordan for dinner and watching the MTV movie awards, but I decided i needed to stay home and just hammer out the finishing touches of my final projects!

Almost done!

June 3

"Loneliness is the human condition. Cultivate it. The way it tunnels into you allows your soul room to grow. Never expect to outgrow loneliness. Never hope to find people who will understand you, someone to fill that space. The best you'll ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let anyone stand in your way."
-Janet Fitch

Watching White Oleander, if only movies were as good as books...

Computer Graphics. So I go in and tell Sean that I suck at Illustrator rendering. His response: "Illustrator blows. Honestly, i'm not expecting much. Don't half ass it, but don't waste your time on it." That was a relief.

Picked up my sunlight test fabric swatches from Jane, cancelled a career services appt (since I'll be home for it now), went to get Ben to sign my Visa but he was out of the office til Monday. Oh, and left my USB and ID plugged into my computer in class so I had to run back and get that. Went home for lunch.

Dinner at Tiffany's. Much more leisurely than usual - finished my drawings so there was lots of time for raisinette parties, contemplating about the boy/girl in our class, and buying Lakers tshirts online. (It's quite difficult to be surrounded by Laker pandemonium in downtown LA and not be tempted to order a Junk Food Lakers tee)...

One week left. F'reals? Time is flying.

June

So my alarm goes off at 7:30 and I lie in bed thinking, I'm still tired, I don't really have to get up yet, i'm just gonna go back to sleep. So at 8:30 I get up, and while i'm in the kitchen making breakfast I realize that it's REGISTRATION DAY for next quarter. Registration starts at 6 am, so I freaked out, leapt onto my bed and turned on my computer which of course took extra long to turn on and then the internet was going extra slow... the whole time I was just praying to my guardian angel & spirit guide (do you think i'm crazy or what?) that I could get my Tuesday/Wednesday schedule....... AND I DID! It was unbelievable. So that was how I started my day.

Thank you Susan Miller, for finally putting up my horoscope. Like Lillian (my astrologer) said, June is full of huge changes - "massive and radical" changes to quote Ms. Miller. So after going to the gym and running for a long time and reading my horoscope I felt like the old badass strong Christine was coming back and it was time to turn my life back into the direction where it's supposed to be going (forward instead of stagnating). So I went to a former flame's house and asked him not to talk to me for a while. This killed me of course, and it sucks, but after five months of thinking about the same person (who wasn't thinking about me, and wanted different things than i did), I decided it was time to move forward.

I'm SO looking forward to coming home for so long. May was a crazy month. So much schoolwork, crazy fun adventure weekends, partying (?!) and meeting new boys. It was overwhelming. I officially decided today that i'm not gonna go on dates with boys who i'm just kind of interested in. I don't have the time. I'm fully down for holding out for a badass outrageous dashing dude. Or Dorian...

I'm looking forward to going home and doing nothing but reading, tanning, cottaging, working out at the club, having tea parties with mom, and oh yeah, seeing my long lost loves... although they'll be at work all day! I seriously haven't had a summer vacation in toronto since 2006! (Since i'd always come here for my month long vacation). It's gonna be wonderful. But I also wouldn't mind hitting up Dad's office for maybe a week to make a couple bucks...

My evening was filled with AutoCAD, spec writing, chopped salad, and text conversations with Taylor and Jordan.

Here's to June. Here's to changes. Here's to strength and positivity and Fantasyland!

Sleep soundly my dear, I have to go...

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

Took my car in once again first thing this morning, waited around for it and then stopped by Leigh's on my way to hike. Unfortch she couldn't come cause she had pilates. It was SUCH a wonderful hike. I've decided I really like going later because its warmer, sunnier (this used to bother me because of tan lines but i've now realized that the obvious solution is sunscreen), and the best part is that there's no one else around! I literally saw maybe 5 other people today. I did the whole thing, ran for the flat part and was so impressed with myself that i could actually do it cause i hadn't done the whole thing with running since february! After my hike I grocery shopped at good old Gelson's, and got a green drink. Came home, poured a tall glass of grapefruit perrier, had every intention of doing my computer graphics homework, but fell asleep instead. I've already realized that Dad is right - San Pellegrino is WAY better than Perrier. I never thought there was a difference but after drinking SP for months I've noticed that there is. After my snooze I went to whole foods to buy the things I couldn't get at Gelson's, came home, made an enormous greek salad and chicken for dinner and then started in on my computer graphics homework, which i'm actually incapable of doing. It sucks. I hate it.

I've also been watching manymanymany episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and i really love it! I can't believe i never got into it before!
Dear Susan Miller,

Please post your June horoscopes on www.astrologyzone.com. You're never this tardy, what's up? Hungover from your long weekend perhaps? Too busy walking your dog in this lovely weather? Please post them soon, it just so happens that i'm basing a very important decision on the contents of my June horoscope.

Thank you, have a lovely day.
