December 13 - 17

Got so much accomplished before 11 am. Kinkos to get my drafting stuff copied, whole foods to stock up on cereals, the grove to get Brandon the book The Road (as a thank you for being my no-sugar inspiration), and to target to get pictures printed for my Design Process inspiration journal. Got home and was finally able to go on a hike cause the rain had stopped. The ground was quite soggy though. But I got to use my step counter thing ... 225 calories to the peak, 220 on the way down. Not sure how accurate that is cause the way down is WAY easier... but that means that to the hollywood sign would burn like 1000 cals? I'm skeptical. After hiking I had lunch, i've been eating daves freshology meals for days cause he's not eating them, then Dorian and I went on an adventure to Rob Dyrdek's house. The door was wide open and we desperately hoped that he would come out, but he didnt. But we took pictures of his car & drama's car. Then we hit up the Beverly Hills Hotel to get the "Barbie Loves LA" book, which they didnt even have, then went to Hundreds to get Ry's Christmas present. Got him a tan plaid shirt, which i showed him the link to since return policy was only 7 days and he told me he liked the red one better. Back to Hundreds tmrw. I had a freshology meal for dinner, Jordan came over with In n' Out and tempted us all, I did more homework, then Jordan, Dave, Dorian and I went to Jordan's dad's studio so the boys could work on their commercials and I pilfered several wonderful holiday flavours of celestial seasonings tea!

December 14
No time for hiking when there's sample boards to be done. Worked on and finished my board that was due last week that i missed handing in cause i was sick, packaged up an Audrey Hepburn painting for a girl who had ordered it, wrapped Brandon's book, and had every intention of going to Hundreds to switch the shirt, the post office to ship the painting, AT&T to pay my phone bill AND go to the gym, but i managed to have time for neither. I went to Brandon's office to drop off his book, and to Taylors to give her my drafting copies and get samples from her. Went to drafting class, was told by my teacher to "go into architecture, you'll go far" and we got out of class 2 hours early which was soooo sweet, cause it gave me time to do all the things that i didnt have time for in the morning! Except the gym, no time for the gym. Went to hundreds, found out they didnt have the red plaid in L (of course), but lovely guy named mike said he'd try and order it for me by wednesday, went home and did homework until bad-influence-Dorian convinced me to go out for dinner with him. All i really wanted was grilled cheese from The Oaks, we went to Le Petit Four and split pizza and a salad. Went home, studied for my test the next day, realized i didnt know anything about chair styles, the boys all came over and tried to convince me to go to Birds with them, and I was fully down, until Leigh came home and talked some sense into me. But the boys had amazing drunken adventures and I was jealous that I wasn't able to go. I also was awakened at 4 am by Dorian yelling that he was unsuccessfully trying to spray the aerosol pancake batter can into his mouth. I got up and asked them to be quiet. They felt bad. I felt bad for making them feel bad. Colin was also wearing my ray bans and thought they were 3D glasses! (we have many pairs of 3D glasses lying around the house from A Christmas Carol).

December 15
6:30 wakeup. History of Architecture & Interior design final. Bombed it (68%). But everyone did. And I still managed to get a 94 in the course (we switched papers and marked each others... is this grade 6)? We then assumed class was over but our teacher tells us to take a break and come back for a christmas surprise... I assumed it would be treats (which i was annoyed about since i'm not eating sugar), but no, it was a slideshow of his LIFE STORY. I'm not even kidding. "This is my little brother and I when I was 4 years old" "this was my first girlfriend Linda Jane blahblahblah, but i really liked her best friend" "I hated my parents, my mom was schizophrenic and my dad was a terrible man" "This is my grandmother, she was my hero, when she died, a part of me died..." and on and on and on... Jen sent me a bbm saying that this man needs therapy, after which he proceeded to tell us details about his years of going to therapy. This slideshow lasted half an hour. We were all DYING cause we had so much to do! Went to training, my back was still KILLING me from drafting, so my trainer made me hang from a bar at the end to stretch it out. It hurt SOOOOOOO much that I started feeling nauseous and then faint and i had to lie down! It was intense. Went home, started on my sketching which i assumed would take me 2 hours, it took 4. Jordan and I had plans to go for dinner but I couldnt even go cause I had too much work. All the boys went to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, I had freshology. I continued working on my floor plan, rendering and sample board for Lady Gaga's study and FINALLY finished it at 3:30 am. Oh - took a break to go to Home Depot with Dorian to get a glue gun and so he could fedex a package. So 3:30 am rolls around, shower time. After my shower I sat down to write my client profile for Gaga's room, finish it at 4:30. Had planned on packing but decided that i needed to get at least an hour and a half of sleep.

December 16/17
6am wakeup call. 1.5 hours of sleep and i felt great! Dave and Dorian were up because dave's car was broken down outside rogers and needed Dorian to drive him to class in Leigh's car, so the morning was fun. Went to class, realized i only shouldve worked a fraction as hard as i did on my project because mine was light years better than anyone elses ... literally some people didnt even use straight edges/right angles to cut their squares, didnt line up their samples, i dont get it. After class, Taylor, Deeann, Akela and I all went to Starbucks to jolt ourselves awake. I got a cinnamon something latte with a double shot of espresso and was WIRED! (and managed to spill it down the front of my shirt as a result of my fidm bag falling from my shoulder to my elbow and jostling the coffee, good thing I had an extra shirt in the car!) I went to Brandon's office and was soooo hyper. So i organized a bag of crumpled up receipts for him. We hung out for a bit, then went to lunch with his friend and his friends dad and business partner, they asked us why we weren't dating, they asked why i didnt have a rich LA boyfriend yet, they told me that Roger should've been paying me $20 an hour. It was a really fun lunch! Sketching class was only half an hour which was sweet, the final was the easiest thing ever (trace your homework but modify the furniture and add a light) and then it was time to RUN home to pack (with a pit stop at hundreds). Get to Hundreds, Mike's there and is like "the shirt is on its way right now!" and i said i'd come back on my way to the airport. Went home, packed like a madwoman (two huuuuuge suitcases, but only cause i wanted to bring them home, not cause i needed all the space), said a sad goodbye to Leigh, tidied my room and headed to Hundreds. The shirt had not yet arrived so I hung out with Mike and another guy who i forget his name until it arrived, and I then ewnt to meet Dave at Colins. Hung out there for a bit b/c i was way early for the airport, and then dave drove me to the airport. He was saying that my bags were gonna be overweight and i was like "no way! but if they are, one is wayyyy lighter than the other so i can switch stuff - it was Gerlinda's Neiman Marcus cakes that were like 50 pounds EACH)! So i go in, put them on the scale and both are exactly 51.5... it was bizarre. The scales totally must have been wrong. Ate a starbucks cookie -first sugar in almost a week, and it was good, but not as good as a cupcake would've been! Got on the plane and was complimented by the girl sitting beside me "oh good, you're skinny, i love sitting beside skinny people on planes!" Slept maybe 2 hours on the flight, waited foreverrrr for my bags in usual YYZ fashion, hopped in a limo and arrived at good old Melrose Ave. by 7am. Chatted with Mom & Dad & Berkley for a bit, woke Ry up to say hi, went to the bank to transfer cashmoney to Leigh, and then it was naptime. Home is wonderful for the following reasons: snow (although i'm sooooo over the cold already, it's -11 and bitter), chocolate milk in bags, Gryfe's bagels, my fuschia room, the smell of cinnamon, tea parties with mom. Berkley is being a jackass however. He wouldn't have a nap with me today, and every time my mom talks to me he gets jealous and starts whining at her to pay attention to him. Apparently he did the same thing to Ry when he got home from Aus. Oh and his fur is a smidge too long. I'm considering giving him a mohawk. Next up: going out for dinner with the fam and watching Christmas Vacation.

December 12

Day two of no sugar and going strong. But it's terribly terribly hard, but I'm determined. I had wanted to hike today to use my nike calorie/stride counter thing for my shoes, but alas, it was raining. It literally POURED all day long. But, it forced me to do my homework. I resisted going to Toast and on whatever adventures would ensue with the boys, and chained myself to my drafting table. I drafted til my eyes bled. Literally. A blood vessel in my eye is broken. I took three breaks, one to do laundry, one to eat lunch, and fourtimepourtime tea break. Finally at the stroke of 7:00 I finished. Cameron had invited me to a christmas party tonight, but i was definitely too exhausted to go. So instead Jordan and I watched Bonnie & Clyde (because it's a Christmas movie in my mind), and made a sweet plan to rob banks, cause as soon as you rob a bank, people fall in love with you. Cue banjo music. After B&C we watched Alpha Dog, Jordan had never seen it, he hated it, I loved it as much as the first time. Post movies I continued homework, Hart came over with guns for their shoot tomorrow and Jordan and I had a Bonnie & Clyde photoshoot.

December 11

Woke up and decided that my sugar binges were over. The madness has to stop. I went to pilates, which made me determined to get Anna's bod, then went to spinning. Once I was back home, Brandon called, and I enlisted him to help me kick my sugar addiction (he normally works with alcoholics, but the sugar binging is getting out of control). From now on, I'm only eating sugar twice a week (although he says I can still have hot chocolate, but I disagree), and I have to check in with him every night to tell him that I didn't cheat! This is gonna work. It can't not work when i'm accountable to someone that's removed from this temptation-filled household! (Leigh and I can't be accountable to each other because then we just decide to cheat together). So there. I'm turning it all around. The rest of the day was filled with drafting. I resisted going to Birds with Dave, Dorian & Tristan and instead had tea while watching Gossip Girl/doing more drafting. Then I started the Nicholas Sparks book "The Last Song" ... even though I generally hate all his books, I actually liked his last one, and this one seems promising as well!

Dec 10 and some days before it...

Monday
Wonderful rainy morning. Drafted all morning. Drank hot chocolate with Leigh. Went to class. Went to the gym. Came home. Baked oatmeal raisin and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for Ty the Christmas Tree salesman, made him a sweet card, went to deliver them but he was GONE. Annoying. So we came home and decorated the tree and watched Elf and it was sooooo wonderful because I love Elf, and even Leigh loved it the second time around! Little Miss Christmas (me) is FINALLY here!

Tuesday
I woke up feeling nauseous. At first I couldn't bring myself to even THINK about eating breakfast (which is crazy rare for me) and I thought it was just cause i was full from too many cookies the night before, but then I barfed and realized I was sick. Unfortch I had to go to school to hand in our History of Architecture booklet, so I went, parked in visitor parking for free (so luxurious), dropped off the booklet, and headed back to bed (with a pit stop at CVS to pick up a thermometer). Temperature 98.9. Pretty normal. I spent the day in bed feeling so nauseous, barfing 4 or 5 times, eventually having a fever (my cool thermometer does a special beep for when you have a fever), was taken care of by Dorian (he bought me ginger ale and offered to go get paint swatches for my sample board that was due the next day! I didnt make him go get the samples obvi). At dinner time he made me get out of bed to watch a movie, we watched Breakfast at Tiffany's and i'd forgotten how wonderful it was! I also realized that I was in the midst of the mean reds:

Holly - You know those days when you get the mean reds?
Paul - The mean reds, you mean like the blues?
Holly - No. The blues are because you're getting fat and maybe it's been raining too long, you're just sad that's all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you're afraid and you dont know what you're afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling?
Paul - Sure.
Holly - Well when i get it the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany's. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there. If i could find a real-life place that'd make me feel like Tiffany's, then - then i'd buy some furniture and give the cat a name!

The Beverly Hills Hotel is my Tiffany's. I'll take my lover there for lunch before we bust outta here. By the time the movie finished and we started watching 90210, I was feeling light years better! We then heard the rumble of a loud car... i was scared it was Public Enemy #1 but have no fear, it was Jordan in his purple M3, back from the dead! (Missing interior pieces mind you, but still back)! He took for for a spin and it was like a spaceship. I want one. I somehow got tricked into going to Kogi with them (the boys said Leigh said she was coming, she didnt come) but this involved another spin in the purple M3 so it was alright.

Wednesday
Woke up feeling not 100%. Walked to RealRawLive for my first food in a day... thought a green drink would be the best thing for me... the walk was definitely not the best thing for me. Felt like i was gonna faint and was boiling hot by the time i got there (it was freezing out). So i got my delicious breakfast drink (maca, coconut water, almonds, blueberries, other stuff...) came home, ate it and rested some more. That afternoon Dorian and I met Leigh in Barney's to pick up her ring, went to Neiman Marcus to get whisky cake for Gerlinda, went to several stores and bought several christmas presents, got free cupcakes, and then i parted ways to head to Robertson and The Grove for some more Christmas shopping. Mom and Dad are done, Ryan will be done on saturday, still gotta find a sick hoodie for Berkley. I went to Gelsons and picked up the ingredients for Dorian Chicken, made the chicken, leigh made salad complete with sweet buttery nuts, and we sat down to a wonderful family dinner, with sprinkles for dessert (that got quite mauled). We made funny faces, laughed our faces off, and left for our 3D Christmas Carol double date at the El Capitan. It sucked. So boring. It's just not an eventful enough story to not have muppets. It needed muppets. Got home, went straight to bed for our early wakeup call.

Thursday
Amazing day. Woke up at the ungodly hour of 6... well, 6:45 because i set my alarm for 6;15 pm by mistake... us troops rounded ourselves up... Leigh and Dave headed for the airport, Dorian and I started to head out for breakfast but decided that we didnt even feel like going out for breakfast, so we went home to kill time and then headed to Colins. We thought we were meeting Dave there, but then we get a call from him saying he's at the Porsche dealership and to come pick him up. So we get Colin, drive to the address Dave texted me, and it leads us to a sketchy alley with a run-down car fixing place full of Audis and Bentleys... but not a porsche in sight. So we call dave, he tells us some sort of cryptic message and hangs up telling us its on Santa Monica. So we find it, rearrange the car to fit passenger #4 (we had 2 surfboards and full dual camera gear), fit everything in, gas up the Xplorer and head to Ventura to surf the big waves! Colin drove, we staged an intervention about his irregular gas pedal pressure, and made it to Ventura by 11:30. The waves were massive, and were only getting bigger, Colin said he was worried about me, I said i'd give it a try. So I did. But was too terrified to really do much of anything except ride the whitewash. Literally there were 10 ft + waves. So I surfed for half an hour, attempted to tan for half an hour (it was freezing, the sun was soooo low in the sky, it was pointless), so i vowed to hit up sephora for some fake tanner tomorrow. Colin came out and we relocated to a rock pile (which he jumped off of into the 10 ft + waves) and Dave and Dorian took some snaps while I watched/had a very wonderful conversation with Brandon. He apologized for being an ass, we made amends, it was all thanks to the salt water cleansing my soul. My dark days are OVER!

After surfing was done and we were all nicely chilled to the bone the boys decided they needed some mexican food. So we went on a wild goose chase to some random mall to get some specific mexican food. Colin, Dave and I then split 60 Mrs. Fields cookies. It was delicious and disgusting. We then had the coziest drive home... Rich Hill, Kid Cudi and a little Miley singing us to sleep... dropped Colin off, drove home listening to rap songs and their girly alternates, came home, had a picture uploading party, had a re-heated Dorian Chicken dinner, Colin and Rony came over, I wanted to watch Alpha Dog but the boys insisted on watching pieces of movies, so i went upstairs and watched Melrose Place and painted my nails. Now we're watching fear and loathing in las vegas. Fun full day.

December 3 - 6

Fantasyland is no longer Fantasyland. My spirit has been broken, the downward spiral has begun. Toxins are getting to me and it’s time to go home for some recuperation.

Thursday

I have never procrastinated more than I did today. I had disgusting amounts of homework but just couldn’t bring myself to start on it. Leigh and I hiked, we came home, I tried to start on work but ended up doing laundry and having a nap because I felt miserable. At some point in the day we decided to give up on trying to do work and to snap ourselves out of our low morale (both of us have been in terrible moods for days now) and just go to The Oaks for hot chocolate and a cupcake, while wearing matching Ray Bans (I dug mine out and realized they were actually nice – for some reason I hadn’t worn them for over a year cause I thought they were ugly). We got our hot chocolate and it ended up tasting just like warm milk so I went back and asked for more chocolate. He put double chocolate in and I brought it back out for Leigh and I, but it was still gross. So we threw it in the garbage and went to Gelsons and bought fat free 20 calorie Nestle hot chocolate and 5 calorie per tbsp whipped cream and went home and made it. I had my doubts about how much of a flavor punch it would pack… but it was great! Keep in mind we added baileys, peppermint shaky stuff, marshmellows and whipped cream. We drank our hot chocolate, ate our advent calendars and did some more procrastination/pitied ourselves. Dorian and Dave arrived back home from doing film stuff around dinner time and Dorian and I went on a date to the Roosevelt for dinner. We split grilled cheese and a burger and sweet potato fries and it was sooooo amazing… minus the water that tasted like hotel tap water… but we were in a hotel so what did we expect? We came home and watched Funny People or whatever that Adam Sandler movie was called and it was horrible. We also did the “find my lover” application thing on facebook and soooooo weirdly, I was Dorian’s lover! Ryan was my lover, which I found to be sooooo hilarious.

Friday

Slept in and missed spinning, but I didn’t care. (Christine not caring about sticking to a schedule? Something is definitely not right in my life)… Made it to GST class, felt so strong, Anna told me my hair was delicious and that she wanted to dive into it… maybe things were starting to look up after all. Nope. After GST I texted Roger to see if I could pick up my cash money and a couple hours later I get several horribly mean messages. Seriously the meanest things anyone has ever said to me. Shockingly shockingly uncalled for and mean. Did you know that I’m fucking ridiculous? Did you know that I’m nothing but problems and nagging and that I cause more problems than solutions? There was also plenty of swearing and a request to leave him the fuck alone. He’s done with me. So obviously I burst into tears, luckily my lover was downstairs so I read him the messages and cried on his shoulder. (We’re talking crazy sobbing and intense waterworks). We then went to the Oaks to meet Leigh to give her my ipod, and I cried on her shoulder some more. Then Dorian escorted me to Brandon’s office where I had to pick up my money (from the front desk too… I’m so low on the Goodman Life totem pole that I’m not even worthy of seeing Brandon face-to-face. Death to The Goodman Life. Got my cash, cashed my cheque, and was done with that bullshit. Next stop was Hot Rod to pick up Ry’s tee. Dorian got some LA stickers. We talked Drake with Kyle. We then went home, Dorian got lunch from the Oaks, I cried my eyes out in bed while listening to the good old Sarah McLachlan Christmas cd, and we waited for Leigh to get home. Once Leigh was home we went on our Beverly Hills mission to get her running shoes like mine. It was the most wonderful mission ever full of Williams Sonoma apple cider and peppermint bark (kind of illegally swiped by Dorian), Christmas lights, Christmas carols, Santas hiding in trees, etc etc etc. I love Beverly Hills at Christmas at night. Unfortch when we tried to get free Sprinkles there was a line and I didn’t feel like waiting. Leigh was SO shocked… it really was a day of ridding toxins from my life! … but then we went home and decided to go to Birds for dinner, and my lover persuaded Leigh and I to drink (blueberry stoli vodka sodas). But that doesn’t really count because we all know that sugar is my only real vice. After birds we hit up the oaks for cupcakes. We got free coffee cake because we were cute, and Dorian bought more blueberry vodka. We went home, Leigh and I had hot chocolate and get this – I didn’t even eat my cupcake… maybe because I was lying on the floor surrounded by a chalk outline with X’s on my eyes… I don’t think corpses are too into cupcakes.

Saturday

My slump continues. I had a good talk with Derek and realized that the life is being sucked out of me by public enemy #1… because as soon as he becomes a presence in my everyday life, I start falling apart. It explains everything. The lack of willpower, the extreme sugar binging and late night unhealthy food eating, the coffee drinking, the not reading books, the homework procrastination, the all around down in the dumps-ness. I’m not myself these days and it’s slowly but surely killing me. As Matt Morrish once said, “you should never be with someone who drains you of your energy, you need to surround yourself with people who give you more.”

As for today, I drafted all day long, shed a few tears, then babysat. Came home and stayed up til 3:30 doing my stupid Architecture scavenger hunt group project that obviously I ended up doing all the work for. It was hell. The chalk outline from the previous night was still waiting for me on the carpet… I was ready to dive in.

Sunday

Woke up at 9 and went straight back to Architecture homework. Thankfully at 10ish Leigh, my lover and I decided to go to The Oaks for breakfast burritos which was actually the most wonderful thing ever. I got a “fun latte” to wake me up, and my lover looked really hot in the hat and hoodie combo that he was wearing. Went home, sprinkled some sea salt over the door thresholds to prevent bad energy from entering (just in case public enemy #1 decides to stop by). Did some more architecture work, did some more drafting, went to this cute cafĂ© with Leigh and Dorian for lunch (brought my laptop and continued working). Leigh and I split a cobb salad and I got a banana latte. Leigh stayed there to work and Dorian and I went to get free cupcakes from Sprinkles. After Sprinks I went to Kinkos where I remained for over an hour while Edwin the assistant manager took his sweet ass time printing my History of Architecture book. Upon my arrival home, my lover and I went for a romantic dinner date at In n’ Out. In n’ Out never fails to entertain – last time it was getting stuck in a broken down pickup truck in the drive through with Derek with scary gang members making fun of our footwear, this time I dropped my two ketchup containers on the floor, and a lady comes up to our table and is like “just so you know, people are getting ketchup all over their shoes. SO not classy.” Excuse me, but I wasn’t aware that In n’ Out was a classy establishment. Can these people not watch where they’re stepping and avoid the ketchup spill? Did she expect me to pull a mop out of my purse and clean it up? Lover and I had a good laugh about that one… as well as the man sitting beside us who we realized only ordered fries after we spent our entire meal criticizing the fries… “they taste like cardboard” “they taste like hickory sticks without the flavoring” “they’re so dry” “they’re so dense” etc. We went home, played on our computers til Dave got home, lured Leigh home from the coffee shop with the promise of Christmas tree purchasing, and went to get our tree! Leigh picked out a horribly small one, but it was bizarre cause there were only like 3 big trees… do Americans not like big trees? Came home, the boys took quite a while trying to put the tree in the stand (ended up being sooo crooked and falling over) while leigh and I searched for the lights. We couldn’t find them. So we decided to just drink hot chocolate and watch desperate housewives and eat cupcakes and do the tree tomorrow.

I’m feeling substantially better than yesterday. Maybe cause I got some of my homework done? Maybe because Dorian is wonderful? Maybe because it was overcast? Maybe because my day was free of public enemy #1 toxins? Or maybe the sea salt really is working…

Tomorrow is a new day. And one day closer to tea parties with mom, pasta dinners with dad, blanket fights with Berkley, the Unit, dinner parties with ryan, sarah and Derek, Rui & the club, proper winter weather, real Christmas spirit and cuddling on the couch with Bailey’s, hot chocolate, and Christmas movies on my little tv set up beside the tree. 10 days.

Week in Review

Sleep has taken precedence over blogging and I haven't even been getting much sleep. Here's the re-cap:

November 25
Class. Brandon's office during break. Designed Roger's business cards. Class again. Spinning. Walked Henry. Picked my California Loves (Leigh and Robyn) up from the airport (in CRRRRAZY pre-thanksgiving traffic... i definitely was the biggest asshole driver and cut in front of several long lines of traffic) but we had to get to Pinkberry before it closed! ...This would be foreshadowing for later in their trip.

So I picked up my corporate sisters, had a glorious reunion and singalong time in the car, and made it to the Beverly Hills pink with tons of time to spare!

November 26
Happy American Thanksgiving! We felt SOOOOOO weird for not cooking a big dinner, but we were all cooked out from Canadian Thanksgiving still, so we celebrated Christmas instead. Leigh and Robyn had brought us advent calendars from my mom, and presents! Smores fixin's and cake and cupcake christmas tree ornaments! We had got up with every intention to hike, but were moving in slow motion and ran out of time, so we did the next thing on the agenda: Surf's Up HB! We had an amazing drive down, singing along to all our surfing classics (Kiss the Girl - AshTisdale, Come Go With Me - Beach Boys, Dirty Heads, Vampire Weekend etc). Mixed it up and drove to HSS cause we were too lazy to walk, got the boards for free, Me: "we usually don't have to pay," Keith: "then why are you handing over your credit card?" Went to our trusty lot, got given a paid parking ticket by some people that had bought way too much time, surfed it up in perfect sized waves but in the most crowded conditions we've ever dealt with. We almost didnt even wanna go in... but our wetsuits were on, and once they're on, there's no turning back! Tanned for an hour, went back to the car, realized I hadn't even put the ticket on the dash, but we didnt get a ticket cause we're soooooo lucky! (Or cause it was thanksgiving and the parking guys werent working...). Returned the boards, got chai lattes and an apple muffin (warm) and headed back home. Roger had called asking me to dog sit Henry so we went and picked him up. We took Henry for a walk, had a coffee/baileys party in the backyard while Henry ran around in the swampy grass, washed his paws, bid farewell to Leigh and Dave who were going to a Thanksgiving dinner, and tried to figure out what WE should do for dinner. After calling every single restaurant in LA, we had nothing. Nothing was open. And the places that were open were hotels that had stupid prix fixe or buffet menus and we obvi didnt want that. So we decided to just go on an adventure and find somewhere. We dropped Henry back at Rogers and decided to call the Chateau Marmont one more time to see if there was magically room for us. There was magically room for us! We were so excited. We had a wonderful but windy dinner, they messed my order and i ended up with two desserts (pumpkin pie and apple crumble with cinnamon ice cream - the crumble was amazing), were accosted by a drunk guy and got free tea. We came home, decided to bake pumpkin muffins and ate them while watching the trailer for Leigh's movie and Britney's new video. We went to bed wayyy too late for waking up at the ungodly hour of 6 am.

November 27
Get your fatigues on, all black everything! BLACK FRIDAY! Saks sale started at 8 and we wanted to be there by 7:30 AND hit up starbucks on the way. We all dressed in black, piled into the black xplorer, got our starbucks (i'm developing a bad habit of coffee drinking) and were third in line at saks. Apparently Americans don't know how to form lines. They form mobs. Mobs that push and weasel and bring their young children to try and get them to the front. It was ridiculous. But we held our ground, and I made it up to the 6th floor in time to nab the Mike & Chris leather jacket i'd had my eye on, AND an Elizabeth & James wickedcool blazer (there were hardly any people up there yet). I scooped up my finds, handed them to a sales girl and asked her to start me a room (brilliant thinking on my part). I found a bunch more stuff and headed to my room. Leigh squared and Robyn eventually joined me and we had a change room party. Live nudes, it was hot. So we all read our tags and the sale signs wrong and were SO pleasantly surprised when we got to the cash and realized that everything was HALF the price we thought it was! I got my $800 leather jacket for $220! It was unreal. After that, I was so satisfied with my buys that i didnt even care about shopping anymore! But we continued. Hit up Barneys, got nothing, Lulu - flow Y II bra, glasses place - Robyn got wicked shades, planet blue - no sales, williams sonoma & pottery barn - got nothing. Next stop was Robertson. Didnt find anything at Kitson, Lisa Kline or the crowded store, discovered "All Saints Spitalfield" which is my new favourite store. I got a wicked scarf and they have the COOLEST biker boots that I need to get. We then went to Philip Lim where we saw Nicky and Cathy Hilton, some bathing suit store, Undefeated - got my MSTRPC shirt, oh, and got a call from Jordan saying that he'd picked me up a cool Rogue Status tee as well as one for Ry for Christmas (I love Jordan). Our last stop was the store in Sunset Plaza that was soooooo good last year but sucked this year. We then went home to have a cupcake/tea party in the backyard. Roger and Henry came over, he sat around and critisized me for a while as usual, and then we all got ready for dinner. M Cafe kale salad and sushi!!! We loooove the kale salad. Dave then got coldstone, us girls got pinkberry. We all came home and put on the proposal (Jordan also came over and brought me my shirts), but I was SO on edge and couldnt concentrate on the movie so I went upstairs and had a nice cry-fest (cry-fests are okay when its the 1 year anniversary of your very favourite aunt in the world dying). I then got a call from Roger saying he was going away for the weekend and for me to come pick up Henry, so i cried along to Sarah McLachlan Christmas songs on the way there, got ridiculed by Brandon for having crying eyes, picked up H Dawg, brought him home and took him for a romantic late night walk. We could actually see stars - you can never see stars in LA. It was wondering, Henry was just what i needed to lift my spirits.

November 28
Early morning hike. Ran on the way down and got Henry to take him for a walk. Walked him to meet Leigh, Leigh & Robyn finishing the hike, ran around with him like crazy because he's crazy and i love it. Me and the corporate sissies went to Malibu to try and tan, but we got there and it was horribly cold (surprise surprise, stuff like that always happens to us in Malibu) so we turned right back around and came home ... with a brief stop at Big Sugar in studio city! We got buckeyes and a 7 layer bar to eat at tea time. We came home, rescued Henry from lonliness, made coffee (again) and drank it with baileys during our 'tea' party. Took Henry for a walk and then we had a nap. It was the most wonderful nap ever. Probably because I havent had a real nap in YEARS and mainly because Henry was cuddled up in the crook of my knee and it was adorable. Oh, and we had wonderful mellow and classical music playing. Woke up after two hours, had a shower (Henry waited outside the door for me)! and then got ready for dinner/going out. Went to Katsuya for dinner with Jess & Tony, then went to Teddy's at the Roosevelt. It sucked. It was freezing and empty and the only boys there were from ... TORONTO. Bo-ring. So we decided to go home... and at 3 am we decided to make a pumpkin pie. So Leigh and Leigh watched while Robyn and I made the crust and the pie and while it was cooking Robyn and I went to Rock and Roll Ralph's to get ice cream and whipped cream ... and an almond joy and a king size reese's peanut butter cup. We were accosted by men in the parking lot asking if they could come have some of our pie, i told them we didnt have enough. Sooooo we went home, the pie was ready, we ate the entire thing (2 pieces each), at 3:30 am and I was in bed by 4:30... cuddled up with Henry.

November 29
Happy Birthday Caleigh! At 8 am I awoke to Henry sniffing at my face. It was the cutest thing ever. I tried to get him to lie down again, and he did, but after 15 mins was moving around and wanted to get up. So I got up and took him for an hour walk cause I knew the rest of the girls wouldnt be awake for at least 2 hours. Once they woke up, Leigh, Robyn and I went for our sunday Barneys lunch tradition and had the most eventful meal yet. These two guys requested to sit beside us, and eventually made their way into our conversation so we were basically lunching with them. One guy was HILARIOUS and one guy was lame. Obviously the lame one gave me his number and asked me out for dinner. I told him i was too busy and would get back to him next week. After Barney's we went to Hot Rod to get the shirt cameron had on hold for Ry, Cameron wasn't there. I called him and he was home sick with a serious phlegm throat disease. Next stop, Fred Segal. Marvelled over the latest free citys, decided that i didnt need another one. We then decided that we NEEDED more Big Sugar baked goods, so we hopped on over the hills to studio city, got our treats, and headed for the backyard. Walked Henry again, delivered him back to Roger in the worst traffic i've ever seen (santa claus parade), went to Urth for pie and cofffee, went crazy and committed suicide in insane traffic on the way to the Arclight to see New Moon, met up with Leigh, Dave, Jordan and Todd there, hated the movie, finished it at 10:50 and litearlly SPRINTED to pinkberry (closed at 11), but we made it and they gave us huge ones and it was AMAZING. Came home, ate the pink, watched some Leeroy Jenkins with the boys, watched jordan karate chop a cardboard tube with his head, went to sleep minus a schnauzer.

Novmeber 30
Farewell L&R :( Leigh and I hiked, came home and packed the girls into the Xplorer. We went to Fred Segal, got Leigh's white free city hoodie, went to sprinkles, got them cupcakes to bring home, went to planet blue in search of a bracelet that they didnt have anymore, and then went to La Scala for lunch. For some reason i didnt realize they had a chicken chopped salad (maybe cause i've only ever gotten takeout and never looked at a real menu?) but it was AMAZING! And we split an apple crumble cheesecake that was more amazing than the salad! It was my favourite lunch EVER. We then got a carwash, (my car looks so hot clean), and i delivered them to the airport. Sadness. went to the gym. came home to watch my sisters keeper with leigh, watched GG, went to sleep.

December 1
Class. Gym. A whole afternoon of nothing. A whole night of homework. And Melrose Place and 90210.

December 2
Class. Gym. Class. Home. Promised myself i'd be in bed by 10 but was invited to go see The Road with Cameron at 10:30. So i drank coffee and went. And bundled up in a cozy hoodie, hat & uggs cause i knew how bleak and cold the movie was gonna be. I thought the movie was great. It was sooooo close to being equally as good as the book (which is SO rare). It was horrible and dismal and gloomy and morbid but that's what its about and i was expecting it so I really liked it. Not so sure that Cameron liked it as much as I did.

December 3
Hollywood sign hike with Leigh. Popcorn hip action is back. Miriam was right. Got home, chatted with Leigh, Dave & Dorian until they all left to do various errands. Tried to start my homework but ended up tanning and falling asleep. Procrastinated doing drafting hwk ALL day. Didnt get anything done. Went for hot chocolate at the Oaks with Leigh, went for dinner with Dorian to 25 degrees, had a really frustrating text conversation with Roger ... he's draining me of ALL my energy... and now we're watching the Adam Sandler comedian movie and its horrible.
Goodnight.

November 24

Today felt pretty unproductive, even though I did several productive things. 8:30 History of Architecture class, we found out that one girl in our group is kicked outta the class cause she's missed 3 classes, sucks for us, now we all have to do her stupid work. I fucking hate group projects.

Training at noon. I love my trainer cause he always says how much he loves working with me cause i'm so fit and have such good form and i'm so flexible. It was a good workout, but I still miss RR.

Rogers house. Walked Henry. Got paid. I'm no longer poor. Roger had no more tasks for me so I figured I better spend my free time going to get my car checked out. The engine light was on. After dealing with the most lovely old man at the car service place, I found out that my gas cap wasnt screwed on tight enough. But that can't be! I'm always sooooo diligent when screwing on my gas cap! Soooo many clicks...

Anyways, I came home and was hoping Jordan would be here so I would have someone to eat a good dinner with (Leigh has acting class, Dave has Freshology). So I drive up to the house and there in my parking spot is a Mercedes with a Hundreds sticker! Jordan! But then I wasn't so lucky cause he told me that he and peeps were going to Hurry Curry. Not so interested. So now i sit here starving, trying to decide what to have for dinner, trying to figure out what to get my family for christmas, trying to figure out how i'm gonna pay for it...

November 23

Relaxing morning, headed to Westwood to 1. take a picture of a buttress of some church for my architecture scavenger hunt project and 2. visit Cameron at Hot Rod. So that's what I did. Cameron is wonderful! Such a genuinely nice person! First we got Starbucks. Then we realized it was lunch time so he took me to a cute restaurant in Culver City called M Cafe and I fell in love. It was vegan food and it was sooooo delicious and i'm sooooo eating there all the time now! We went back to the shop, I picked out a couple wicked shirts and tried really hard to decide between two pairs of nike kicks. But in the end I couldnt decide on a colour palette I liked... christmas or swamp monster? I'm kinda leaning towards swamp monster... But I also can't even afford to buy shoes anyways, should be saving my pennies for black friday! I was held there against my will for a while, we stickered my car, and then I had to head out to take more annoying pictures of architectural features.

After picture taking I came home and was zombie tired. I had every intention of going to the gym but realized that it closed at some crazy early hour on Sundays (it was 7 or 8 or something). So instead I watched Melrose Place (which sucked, I can't get into it). Did homework, ate an ice cream sundae and wanted to kill myself, and made a vow that tomorrow would usher in a new era of being strong.

November 22
Hollywood sign hike, watched Vertigo with Dave, (I loooove relaxing Monday mornings), ate a leftover freshology meal for lunch (and felt very proud of myself that I had two real meals so far... no more of this liquids or apples trend that i've gotten so accustomed to... it's a new era)! Had a nice facebook chat with momsie, got sooooooo excited for Leigh and Robyn's arrival (they're bringing me Christmas cheer - in the form of advent calendars from my mom)!!! So I started listening to Christmas songs! I also can't get enough of Rich Hill, some guy who Roger produced. Track 8 has replaced Bad Romance on my repeat schedule. Went to class, was told my work was perfect, was told by a girl in the class that i reminded her of Megan Fox (YES!), got to leave an hour early because i'm perfect, went to the gym, spinned, got asked out by another guy who wasn't worth my time (this is getting annoying) - i'm trying to figure out what the nicest way of declining is? So far i've just been saying "no thank you" and then smiling and running away. It seems to work. Leigh tells me that eventually hot boys will start asking me out... but I think i'd still be turned off... they don't know me. It's too random. It's weird. Maybe its just cause they think i'm Megan Fox?

We were hugely let down to find out that GG was a re-run. Talk about disappointment. I made my third real meal of the day... a grilled cheese. And I didnt even feel guilty because I didn't have any sugar today! A new era is upon us!

November 21

I love barely having any homework. It lets me do the following things:
-Sleep in until 9:15
-Hike to the peak
-Get my nails done
-Attempt to go to Hot Rod but change my mind after finding out Cameron wasn't there
-Go for lunch at Le Petit Four with the Eaton/Bush's
-Tar & feather several unsuspecting victims
-Go to Planet Blue with Leigh & Dave
-Pick up Roger's 4:00 meal from La Scala
-Drink 2 litres of vampire pirate blood
-Walk Henry while wearing a hat because baby it's cold outside
-Finish my drafting hwk in 10 mins
-Draw sharpie tattoos all over my body
-Do some witchcraft
-Decline going to Sunset Marquis with Cameron because I barely know the guy and we all know how anti-social I am
-Have a computer party and get late night Kogi BBQ/Yogurtland with Jordan
-Listen to the Rich Hill cd and be pretty shocked at Roger's talent.

Daddykins, I'm still waiting on that pancake recipe...

Night y'all

November 20

Today was fun because it was relaxing, but I feel guilty for not being more productive. (I should've done some homework). Slept through my 8:30 spinning class cause I needed sleep, went to 10 am pilates and went spinning after. As i'm riding the bike in the empty studio (with the lights off and my ipod on - clearly I want to be alone), some dude comes in and starts asking me if i'm doing a class (????) I was just like "umm no," and then starts asking me how long i spin for and if i was going to do weights after, I told him 45 mins and no. I was really irritated cause obviously I don't like to talk while doing an intense cardio workout. He totally threw off my flow. Before leaving, he asked if we could go for lunch. I said "sorry, i've got a busy day." Idiot. Doesn't he realize that if a girl is being short with him she's not interested in going for lunch? Moral of the story, don't talk to me if you're not worth my time, or if i'm on a spinning bike. hahahaha.

Then I received a call from Roger to take Henry for a walk, so I took him out for half an hour - he was going CRAZY chasing birds and people and it was hilarious! I really wish Berkley could meet Henry, they'd be soooo badass together. Went back to Roger's, he told me to stay awhile cause Dave was coming over, I watched him in the studio making some beats (which was pretty cool), read my book, ate a delicious green drink from News Room on Robertson (apple, ginger, banana, wheatgrass, spirulina) - normally I don't enjoy drinking these things and i force them down, but this was quite enjoyable thanks to the banananananana! Went back to Rogers, was sent on more errands to go to the bank, fill my car up with gas, and pick up food from Jerry's Deli.

Came home, had chicken and salad for dinner with Leigh, was talked into going to this girl's birthday party (I was dead set against going out but then Leigh was like "but i've already planned your outfit! You're wearing shiny leggings, gold bathing suit and your off the shoulder black top!" - it was a black/gold/silver themed party)... obviously I couldnt resist such an amazing theme, so i got ready to go out. Tony came over, we sat around waiting for Jess & Julia, went to Tony's to pre-drink (I was driving obvi), had a Lady Gaga Bad Romance singalong in the car (she might be my new girl crush) then went to the party. The house was SO cool. It was in the valley which sucks, but there was an awesome pool, fire pit in the backyard, and these two wicked rooms with sloping barn-style ceilings. And boys lived there. it was impressive. Party was fun, Leigh and I introduced ourselves to the birthday girl and she was like "you guys are pretty, let's be facebook friends and go out," it was cute. And yes, Leigh looked SOOOOO pretty. Like, smokin' hot. Probably the hottest i've ever seen her. We were both wearing gold headbands and she totally rocked it better than I did. I kept getting elf ear and mushroom hair action... Tony and I had a quality dance party (although it was lacking Bad Romance - the dj didnt have it, we were horrified), and we were all disappointed that there was no birthday cake, so we left. And went to get pizza. And then came home and had ice cream sundaes. So much for no sugar... I'm proud of my yesterday self, and i'll do it again tomorrow. For now it's bedtime.

November 19

First low key day in a while. Hiked to the Hollywood Sign, did sketching homework, sat in with Leigh and the stylist (who makes me want to wear only black, white, grey & denim even more than i already do), walked to Real Raw Live to get super slimming smoothies for lunch with Leigh, saw Caleigh's lady love, Amanda Seyfried there (and got to scope her out for a reallllly long time since the place was sooo busy), came home, got my act together and finally went to deal with banking, paid my phone bill and then got a call from Roger asking me to pick up his lunch. So I did. And then I walked Henry. Came home, went back to his house several hours later, made us pasta for dinner, walked Henry again. Came home, watched 90210, got a call at 10 asking for a box of latex gloves cause Mel was coming over to do his scary/beautiful girl tattoo, so I went and bought latex gloves, picked up an order from Jerry's Famous Deli for him and dropped it off. And then I walked Henry for the THIRD time. Went back in, the tattooing was starting, so I stayed and watched while Mel did the outlining and it's gonna look soooooooo cool when it's done! Arrived home at the same time as Dave, he showed me a rough cut of Roger's websie video (it's hilarious and amazing), and now it's time for bed.

November 18

Today I was a zombie. I think it's been about 4 days of only getting 5 hours sleep and its definitely catching up with me. Design Process class was a field trip to the Getty Center which was sweet. Driving through Bel Air & bbm-ing with Caleigh in the morning makes me happy. Since L&R and I had already been to the Getty, it wasn't so exciting, but it was much better than sitting in a classroom. I also got sooo many pictures for my history of architecture scavenger hunt project, which was sweet. After the Getty I had to go to Sprinkles to get a birthday cupcake for Brandon and Taylor, Deanne & Akela came with. Taylor tried her first sprinkles and loved it! (Totally a girl after my own heart - she got three and ate them all today). I feel your pain Taylor! So I then headed downtown to Brandon's office where we ate cupcakes, fruit from a fruit thing sent by Mark Zuckerberg (of facebook fame), and I did my sketching homework while he did work for Roger. And then Roger called Brandon and was yelling like a madman (speakerphone), I told him he needed to chill out or he'd get cancer, and he fired me. I'm not sure that he was serious, but if so, that's fine, it wasn't worth my time anyways, and I wish him luck trying to find someone else that will put up with him! Also in one of their three conversations one of them was like "God damn it!" and I couldn't help but laugh and think of Leeroy Jenkins... "God damn it Leeroy!" After birthday time with Brandon I headed back to school for sketching class, where we had another field trip - into the hall - to sketch real life things instead of copying them from handouts. The class was a gossip fest as usual and I just love it!

Headed to the gym after class, came home to a delicious dinner made by Terrie, watched top model and ate ice cream sundaes. Leigh and I decided that we need to start of slow with this whole diet thing because obviously our contract isnt working. I've gained 10 pounds since i've been here. It's not pretty. So we shook on two days of liquids, starting tomorrow. Let's do this!

Oh, and my repeating track of choice is no longer Whatever You Like... I think it will forever remind me of making chocolate chip cookies at twilight (not a bad memory). It's replacement: Bad Romance by Miss Gaga. It's funny, cause the song is kinda old now, but I just became obsessed with it today.

November 17
So I'm sitting in History of Architecture and receive the following text from Roger:

I have a few things that I need done today - you can do this for me til i find someone permanent if you'd like. I just don't want to employ people i'm friends with etc. Lemme know.

Looks like someone had a change of heart. So I went over to his place after class for a day full of errands. So much for getting all my homework done. I grocery shopped, pet store shopped, mailed a package to his mom, dropped off 3 bags of old clothes at a clothes place, (and had to go BACK to the grocery store to get garbage bags to put the clothes in), walked Henry (the best part of the day by far), went to La Scala to pick up "dinner" (4:00) for him and the guy who wrote Disturbia (was recording in his studio) and then finally made it to the gym for 5:30. Post spinning I came home, showered, had dinner and settled in at 8:00 to write my essay and do my sketching homework. 9:00 hits: "I'm gonna need some dinner and Henry needs a walk." I was pissed/laughing at how ridiculous this all was. So I managed to convince him to come over here, cause he had to check out his bio video that Dave and Jordan are doing for his website, and he agreed to come here, so I start back at my essay, but then he calls back saying that Tristan was coming over to his house and i needed to bring food for both of them. So I dragged my ass down to Birds, got their chicken, drove to Beverly Hills, stopped for diet cokes on the way (which he changed to sprites after i'd already gotten the cokes) and delivered the food and took henry for a walk. I also stayed at his place to finish my essay because i didnt wanna be distracted by boys eating sundaes at home. So I got the essay done, tried to print it, but he was being an asshole and wouldnt help me find the usb to plug in my computer or look to see if he had paper and then he asked me to go get him rocky road ice cream and pretzels. I was not impressed. So I got the fucking ice cream and pretzels and then came home at midnight, with a finished essay but unfinished sketching homework. The plan: do it tomorrow at Brandon's office on my 3 hour break. Who am I? I never leave work til the last minute!

Oh - funniest part of the day - Dave, Jordan & Colin got home and asked me how the food run went, I said something about how it was great cause the magic was wearing off and my crush on him was fading fast, and then Dave's like "but the magic of your retainer is definitely not wearing off!" It was funny. Wanna join my retainer club?

November 16
Lazy hike. I'm soooooooo bored of the hike. I couldnt bring myself to do hollywood sign so I just did the peak. And now that i'm scared to run (Miriam emailed me saying she sees me hurting myself running and having to go to the doctor) it's not even that great of a workout. So yeah, did that. Tried doing Colin's mom's meditation/chakra visualization stuff at the top while stretching. Came home, Terrie & Leigh's stylist arrived and she was soooooo cool. Angelina lookalike, wearing all shades of black and grey, cool wrist tattoo, just a really cool chick. I watched her show them dresses, got my drafting stuff organized and headed to school. Class was amazing, no one had done the homework right (except me) so he gave us the whole class to do it. In this time I managed to finish almost ALL of next week's homework! I just need to do the door/lighting schedules! So amazing. Too bad L&R aren't coming this weekend!

Went to the gym, came home, hung out with Dave, Jordan & Todd while they worked on Roger's video for his website, watched GG and ate an ice cream sundae, went back to the kitchen and hammed it up with the boys while I made study notes for my history of architecture quiz. Roger came over, ate our food, told me that in order for him to hire me as his assistant i'd have to be a completely different person, and left. I stayed up way too late (being distracted by Dave & Jordan and funny internet videos will do that to you), a dangerous trend that I seem to be starting here...

November 15

November 15
Ice Cream Sundaes with a Side of Grilled Cheese day! I officially am sick of having parties. They have to stop. Leigh and I literally spent soooooo many hours and dollars preparing for and making stupid grilled cheese sandwiches and ice cream sundaes. Don't get me wrong, both were amazing, but i'm over doing all this work. Let's sit back and wait for someone else to have a party. ... we say this now, but i know we'll end up doing something for american thanksgiving... and then i know we'll end up having our christmas party sleepover pancake breakfast party... oh man...

So today. I woke up at 7:30. A quality 4 hours of sleep. Showered, drank liquid breakfast and then went on the hugest cheese/bread mission with Leigh. Of course we needed amazing cranberry walnut bread, and of course The Oaks didnt have any (or the fancy cheeses we needed) so we ended up going to Gelsons, Trader Joes, the hated Santa Monica Whole Foods (which obvi had nothing) and the W 3rd Whole Foods. But coincidentally there happened to be a marathon going on around the grove so EVERYTHING was blocked off and we were literally battling traffic trying to get to whole foods at 11:20. The party started at 12. Leigh hadn't showered, my hair was wet and i had no makeup on. But we finally made it to whole foods, got good bread, got good cheese, but couldnt get loose leaf jasmine tea. WTF? Leigh and Robyn, i'm gonna get my mom to send some good tea with you when you visit. Ok so Leigh and I get home, get ready at light speed, and luckily all the girl guests were very late. Like... hours and hours late. The boys entertained themselves in the backyard while leigh and i prepared:
-Straight up cheddar grilled cheese on sour dough.
-Cheddar & Bacon on sour dough
-Muenster/cheddar sometimes with bacon, avocado & tomato on whole wheat and sour dough
-Our crowning glory: Brie, Fontina, Cherry Confit, Dried Cherries on cranberry walnut bread. This took three hours. It was hell. I hated it. Oh by the way Leigh and I were in terrible spirits all morning, beginning with our lack of sleep, morale dropped lower on our cheese/bread mission, and hit rock bottom while preparing the cheeses. Thankfully "Whatever You Like" on repeat got us through.

Sandwiches were a hit, sundaes were a hit, Leigh and I ate too much as usual and indulged in some barfing action, the boys took some sweet snaps, watched some horrible documentary about arcade Donkey Kong competitive players, and I ended off the night nicely with a little Desperate Housewives.

November 14
Obviously I woke up at 7:30 even though I went to bed at three. Ate breakfast with Leigh and gossiped about late night events, went for our hike, discussed grilled cheese plans while we walked, and then embarked on our daily errand run. Errand driving was made better with the girl version of "Whatever You Like" serenading us on repeat. First stop, planet blue. Leigh got jeans. Second stop, sunglass hut. Leigh got sunglasses, I got my gucci shades adjusted so they don't sit crooked. Next stop, Williams Sonoma: chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, pumpkin pie samples. Next stop: Frederic Fekkai for Leigh's haircut. Kelly apologized profusely for my birthday hair disaster (she had the day off and recommended a guy who ruined my hair). Then onto Hundreds to get a sticker for my car. Then it was back home so Leigh could meet with her stylist (she's such a movie star) to find dresses for daves brother's wedding and new years. Dave and I went to Costco which was a nightmare, and they had nothing we needed. It was bizarre. So we went to Ralphs and got all the sundae stuff and coincidentally the lady behind us in line was having a sundae party too. It was weird. We had better stuff than her. Then we went home, and I started in on cookie dough making (sundaes need both cookie dough and cookies), make a lot of dozens of cookies, got ready for dinner, went to Katsuya, came home, Leigh and I had a late night waxing party, got ready for bed and then got calls from Roger and bbms from Brandon saying to come back to tattoo mania cause they were getting more tattoos, so Dave and I ventured out at midnight, me again with zero makeup, looking like roadkill. We get there, Roger's getting Uncle Pennybags tattooed on the back of his leg, and everyone thought his name was Mr. Moneybags. I proved them wrong cause i'm the smartest girl in the world. Roger looked like a little kid. Brandon looked like death. I literally thought he was gonna die. He was getting his arm all filled in and was basically going crazy. So we hung out there for a couple hours, and then ended up going back to Rogers, watching some horrible movie with Kurt Russell and ninjas, and Roger and I made plans for him to hire me as his assistant. My first job is to go get him a free city hoodie. We got home at 3:30 and I was not looking forward to waking up...

November 13
Today was a wonderful/horrible day. It started off with an EARLY morning spin class, followed by GST with Myara. But today was more fun than usual cause Leigh was there! And Anna (the GST creator) told me that my bum was looking good. This was an amazing compliment cause Anna has the hottest bod ever. We went home, had lunch and i started in on a lonnnnggggg afternoon/evening of drafting. I was supposed to go to William's birthday but at 9:00 when i was supposed to start getting ready, I was on such a roll with my floorplan that i just wanted to push through and finish the elevation, so I did. Basically 8 hours of my day were spent on drafting. Actually less, cause there were plenty of distractions (Leigh, Colin, Laundry, Pasta sauce, Jordan, stand up comedians, the usual things), so i finish my drafting at 11, the boys come back from shooting their comedy show, I FINALLY finish Her Fearful Symmetry (the ending was HORRIBLE, i was so disappointed), and then got ready for bed. I then get a bbm from brandon telling me that he's getting tattoos and that i should come hang out. So I go to Tattoo Mania on Sunset and hang out with Brandon and Roger while Brandon gets three tattoos. Roger was flirting big time. The whole thing was so fun (minus me putting my foot in my mouth about 500 times about other tattoo artists).

November 12

Today was an amazing day. Up at 7:30, outta the house by 8:30, picked up Colin at 9:30 and hopped on the 405 to San Diego. We had appointments with Colin's mom that afternoon for chakra cleansing but we decided to go for the day and do a little surfing as well! So first we hit up Colin's house for a little snacktime (luna bars & chocolate almonds - which dont count as sugar cause they're dark chocolate and not tasty), picked up a board and wetsuit for leigh from his garage and headed to the beach (that was like 3 blocks away). I want to live by the ocean sooooo badly. At least while i'm young and carefree... So we went to the beach, and I proved that my wicked surf day with Surfer Drew at HB was NOT a fluke. I can actually do it now. Leigh and Robyn, just wait, we're gonna be awesome. So we surfed for a while, took some pics that all ended up being terrible... my death zombie face just wasn't working for me (tired + salt water clogged sinuses + suntan lotion irritated puffy eyes = not a good look), dropped Leighs board back at Colin's and went to his mom's spa.

Colin's mom is the coolest. She's beautiful, (Court - she looks like your mom), she's so nice, and she's magical! The cleansing started off with a wonderful massage (my neck and shoulders are crazy tight these days so it was awesome), then the stones and crystal stuff. She knew that I was an artist (says that i'll do really well and make a name for myself!), she knew I worked with my dad, she knew that i was disappointed about a certain love interest, she said California is where I belong, and told me some VERY interesting information about my chakras that totally aligns with what Miriam was seeing, and told me that i need to start meditating to release energy from a past life that is blocking me, and told me how to do it. It was sooooo relaxing (and the massage table was heated!) and just so wonderful! During Leigh's turn I went in some infrared sauna which was pretty wonderful too. We both loved it. We're gonna go back on a somewhat-regular basis.

By this time we were pretty starving so Colin took us to the "best mexican restaurant in the world." And it was REALLY good. Leigh and I split a chicken quesadilla and chicken tacos. The drive home was quite relaxing, filled with death cab and other mellow music.

November 11
Happy Remembrance Day. Lucky for me school was cancelled for Veterans Day. I hiked with Leigh, went to the gym to spin, came home with the intention of doing homework, but just ended up reading (because it was overcast and fall-ish and wonderful) and planning the grilled cheese/sundae party with Leigh. Then it was time for pilates (I decided to go to Myara's reformer class with Leigh) and it was an amazing class! Soooo hard. My body hurts today. We got home, ate dinner, watched Top Model, drank tea, and went to bed.

November 10

6:30 wakeup. History of Architecture class. Got out an hour early. Hit up Home Depot for some screws to attach the picture hanging wire to the paintings. Was accosted by several mexicans asking if i needed any construction work done. Yeah right, isn't it obvious that i'm constructionally competent? On the way back to my car I was also asked out on a lunch date by some guy looking for a parking spot. I said no thank you, he said i had beautiful teeth and told me to have a nice day. The teeth comment was kinda strange considering last tuesday someone at the gym told me i had nice teeth. Came home to a movie set (Colin's Doritos commercial), and a werewolf sitting at the kitchen table. Unfortunately he shed his hair all over the house. Leigh and I had lunch in the backyard, I read in the backyard, and then drove over to Roger's to deliver Brandon his paintings. The paintings were well received (by Brandon, obviously Roger had some sort of critical comment about them being too small), I hung out for the tail end of meeting with the guy from the Hot Rod clothes store who's working with Roger to make shirts and hats. His name was Cameron and he was wonderful. He complimented me on my signature. I then took Henry for a walk (sorry Berkley for my unfaithfulness), and then left the boys for the gym. Post gym, came home, had a 90210/Melrose Place night with a freshly mohawked Dave (looks SO amazing, Leigh hates it) and Jordan, walked in on them roasting marshmellows and making smores over the stove. I was so jealous. But i'm back on track with eating and haven't had sugar in two days so i'm pretty proud of myself. Ummmm after tv time the boys wanted food so we went on an adventure to find a food truck. Unfortunately the Kogi trucks were too far away so we stopped at some random one across from Pink's hotdogs. Jordan let me drive his car really fast. Oh! I forgot the best news of the day! I was talking to Colin about his mom and she does energy cleansing!!!!!!!! So Leigh and I are going down to San Diego on thursday to get cleansed. Good thing I brought my crystals!

November 9

Hiked to the peak with Leigh, came home and worked on the Megan painting until I had to leave for class. Class was breezy if not a bit embarassing. The teacher is praising my drafting a little too much and let me leave an hour early cause I know what i'm doing. So I got an early start to the gym, had a good spin sesh, went home, painted more, watched GG with Leigh - amazing episode - highlight: the girl version cover of T.I.'s Whatever You Like. It's been on repeat all day long. Literally. Stayed up way too late cause I wanted to finish Megan, even though i had to get up at 6:30, but it was alright cause it was "friday" the next day cause of veterans day!

November 8

Drafting Sundays blow. I woke up at 8:30 and sat at my drafting table drawing a bathroom plan and 4 elevations basically from 9 - 5. Dad you never returned my call about free-handing a toilet... I took brief breaks to 1. Visit with Kim - she and her friends came over for a bit. 2. Eat lunch. 3. Do back bridges to stretch my back. I finished just as Leigh got home from dance class and we ate our dinner and finished princess diaries. Then I worked on more tattoo font ideas, and went up to my studio to start painting Megan. Leigh and I had a cupcake party (and re-discovered the ice cream in the freezer from thanksgiving... bad news) and watched Desperate Housewives. We also planned a grilled cheese/ice cream sundae party for next Sunday! It's gonna be amazing. I'll make my famous BBQ grilled cheese. Ummmm started painting the black on Megan... so far she looks soooooo good (and it'll only get better). Probably will be my fave painting yet.

This week is gonna be wonderful because I only have 2 classes! No school on Remembrance (Veterans) Day!

November 7

Today started off fabulously. I got up to go on my hike, and heard the familiar voices of Brad & Pax out on the street, so I decided to go out the front door instead of the back like always. And there they are, right in front of our doorstep, so I waved and said "good morning" to Brad, he waved back and said "morning." And he's beautiful in real life.

Hiked. Started watching The Princess Diaries with Leigh but then realized that I had to go to the art store to get new white paint, picture hanging wire and a super skinny brush cause I didn't bring all my brushes. So I did that then came back and worked on drawing Brandon's Megan Fox painting while Leigh, Dave and I watched Vampire Diaries. We had a wonderfully lazy day, then went to visit Mel Cox at the tattoo shop in Venice. She was sooooo beautiful. I have such a girl crush on her. Unfortunately all the fonts I wanted wouldn't work (unless I basically want half my forearm instead of just my wrist tattooed - which i'm totally cool with now, but definitely won't be as a mom) and they were trying to tell me just to get a standard cursive font, but yeah right! Some generic computer written font? No thank you. So I went back to the drawing board (literally - sitting at my drafting table devising a new font)... but first we went to Santa Monica for dinner. Jordan & Ben had come to meet us at the tattoo place so we all went to some restaurant on a corner by the ocean and sat at a table with a fire pit in the middle (would've been really handy for Dave & Jordan having one of those at the saddle ranch so they didnt have to leave the table to roast their marshmellows)... Anyways, our waitress was horrible, our food was delicious, and then we went for amazing frozen yogurt after. It was one of the self serve places and of course mine ended up being huge, but it was so good so I didnt care. Jordan played Wii bowling with the asian owner's little kid and it was pretty much the cutest thing in the world.

The boys then tried to convince leigh and I to go out with them, but we wouldnt have any of it, so we went home. Leigh went to bed, I drafted up a font, drew a tattoo on my wrist the size that Mel wanted to do it (so huge), Jordan drew the same one on my ribs because all the boys said I should get it on my ribs, but I still hold firm to the belief that my ribcage is far too wide and therefore not hot, and it interferes with the ones on my back. I then continued working on Megan while the boys busted out wayyyyy too much food - first came pad thai, next was pizza, next thing I know Dave is defrosting cupcakes! Obvi I had to have a cupcake. It was a really really fun night and I really really love hanging out with boys all the time! It feels like the summer with the cottage boys - makes it seem like summer hasn't ended yet - the weather helps as well. Although it's been really cold at night which is nice.

November 5

November 5
I LOVED today. I actually slept til 9:40. A California personal record! I seriously can't remember the last time I slept in past 9. So Leigh and I were too late for hiking (gets too sunny, bad tan lines), so I went to spinning at the gym and then to an art store to get canvases and an easel! My easel is pretty. AND it was 30% off. I came home, worked on drawing the painting while Dave & Jordan edited footage. Once done painting I was lying on the couch reading (STILL trying to finish HEr Fearful Symmetry - i just have no time to read!), listening to +44 (Jordan has good taste in music), drinking ginger green tea, and loving daylight savings time. It was sooooo cozy. We met Lauren and 3 people she works with at The Saddle Ranch for dinner and was it ever a cheat meal (but we're allowed 2 a week so it's okay)! I had a steak sandwich that came with sweet potato casserole that was amazing, we split a brownie and warm cookie/ice cream and smores desserts and the waitress brought us this huge thing of cotton candy. It was disgusting but sooo delicious. Oh - so we're sitting there eating, and then all of a sudden this huge bodyguard walks in and Leigh's just like "look" and it was J Lo and Marc Anthony! She was beautiful, but also wrapped up in a huge sweater. They then proceeded to sit on the PATIO on Sunset Blvd! Are there still rumors that they're splitting up? Who knows... Oh, I also forgot to mention the amazing cornbread that came with cinnamon butter... Leigh and I ate a lot of it.

November 6
No sugar today! I'm quite proud of myself. Today was insane, but enjoyable. Leigh and I got up at 7:30, were out the door hiking by 8, back by 9:10, and I was en route to GST pilates by 9:25. After GST I met Matt at the gym and led him in a spin class in the studio. It was pretty hilarious. He wouldn't turn his resistance high enough and when i'd tell him to put on more he'd say he was at the same resistance as me but he was just in better shape. Bullshit! It's pretty easy to tell when you're not struggling to keep up with the tempo... And then after I made him do my ab routine and he seriously looked like he was gonna die and couldn't finish it. Christine's Ab Routine claims another victim!!

I then came home and painted allllllll afternoon. I'm not happy with the canvases I got. They say they're triple primed... but they're still sooooo grainy. The canvas grain totally shows through a LOT through the white and its driving me crazy. I finished Brandon's painting of Questlove (drummer from The Roots) and it's pretty sick minus the annoying white. I might have to re-paint the white part - which requires re-edging all the black near it. Super annoying. I was supposed to have to paint Sarah Palin for him but thankfully he changed his mind cause she sucks. We're doing someone hot. Like Foxy or Angelina...

My ear is being all weird. Leigh says i'm going deaf. It keeps plugging and unplugging. I can hear my heartbeat in it occassionally, the back of my neck/top of my spine clicks when i'm walking sometimes and i've had headaches for three days. But it's nothing. Cause I can't afford to get sick!
