WestCoastBestCoast: Day 1

Day 1
I feel like Eloise. Except I’m not at the Plaza and I don’t live here. My westcoastbestcoast adventure has begun! I just arrived at the Fairmont in Van and I feel like a spoiled little rich kid! After being complimented twice on my teeth at the airport (and getting two seats to myself on the plane), the porter brings my bags to my room and greets me with “they told me downstairs that you looked like a movie star and boy were they right!” I now have half an hour until I meet Emily for dinner, so I’m gonna go explore!!

After hotel exploration I walked out to Robson Street to Starbucks to buy the Vancouver mug. I then got a call from Emily and she was two seconds away so we had a glorious love-filled reunion in Aritzia. We then went back to the hotel to freshen up, eat chocolate and decide where to go for dinner. Among our options was a “rock and roll indie trendy sushi place” that Emily suggested and I thought it sounded fab, so we hopped on the bus to Kitsilano and landed at The Eatery (with some address help from Rich & Nadine). It was soooo fab! Pop art all over the walls, good tunes, and crazy wicked sushi rolls! We got the Bob Marley Roll, the Paper Crane, the Malibu Roll and something else that I forget the name of. And 3 raspberry mojitos each. And deep fried bananas and ice cream for dessert!

Rob picked us up after dinner, drove Emily a few short blocks to her house, and then we went back to the hotel.
