WestCoastBestCoast: Day 15

We got to sleep in today. We hadn't heard from surfer drew so we kinda assumed we weren't surfing. He called in the morning to say that there were no waves and we should try and go tomorrow. So we decided to switch our Hotel Belair high tea reservation to today.

We sat around and had a lazy morning with Leigh in the kitchen, eating breakfast and drinking water. We were paid a visit by Bradley Whitford's assistant who showed us her really cool website, and made me really excited to be Derek's assistant. Come on NewMediaAthletes*! We took our time getting ready for tea, and I called Planet Blue and found out that my pants had been transferred from the Malibu store, so we went to pick them up on the way.

We got to the store and I began the grueling process of trying to fit into these jeans. They're Erin Wasson for RVCA grey and white leopard print super skinny jeans. The problem is, the biggest size they had was a 27. So although they fit my waist just fine, getting them over my calfs and thighs is quite the arduous task! But, I got them on, and just spent several hours this evening trying to stretch them out.

Anyways, back to the day. Leigh and Robyn bought at shirt at Planet Blue as well, and then we went to Belair. We were pretty early (like half an hour early) for tea so we took a gander at the swans and then chilled out in the lovely lounge while we waited. The lounge was exactly what I want the library in my future house to be. Dark walls. Lots of wood. Leather furniture with gold studs. Baby grand piano. We were given almonds, cracker-chip things and wasabi peas to munch on while we waited. Robyn and I tasted wasabi peas for the first time and we liked them.

At 3:00 we were seated at the same table as last year, the lovely semi-circular booth! We opted out of the complimentary champagne since we didn't want any more alcohol in our systems, and they gave us delicious sparkling apple cider instead. Normally that sparking apple juice crap is disgusting, but this stuff was sooo delicious! We then ordered our teas (Lemon Verbena for Robyn, Lychee Green for Leigh, Long Life Green for me). They brought our sandwiches to us on plates (we were sad they weren't on a stand) and they were delicious. Cucumber cream cheese, curried chicken salad, egg/tomato, and really good smoked salmon. Thennnn they brought out our tea stand filled with amazing currant scones (with lemon curd as well as clotted cream!), a vast array of desserts and chocolate covered strawberries, and three cookies for each of us! It was soooooo good and we left there feeling sooooooo full! I do have to say that I still prefer High Tea at the Windsor Arms. You just can't beat they're monster sized scones and the fact that you're served your tea in different mismatched pots. And the little silver strainer things that go over your cups... I did like the Belair tea better than tea at the Plaza though...

After tea we went home, but on the way home Boom Boom Pow came on the radio. We despise the song, but instead of hating it, we decided that we should just have a car dance party. So we did. We then came home and hung out in the backyard for several hours and contemplated tough decisions about whether or not to go on a walk, whether or not to get fat-burning lemonade for dinner, whether or not to eat dinner at all, whether or not to walk to the grocery store and get smore ingredients so we could have a fire, whether or not to make chocolate chip cookies. We did none of the above. It was just the most beautiful day with the warmest winds ever and we were really much too lazy to get up off the comfortable patio furniture cushions. When Leigh got home from rehearsal we went inside and watched top model (I fell asleep again) and Grey's Anatomy (I cried my eyes out). Now i'm exhausted. Bedtime!!
